  1. The loss of a preseason game doesn’t impact the top of the roster. They weren’t playing anyway. You largely only saw them twice in the preseason with 4 games. And that was a team being more on the risky side. Why play starters in 3 now. only exception I have is for rookies or bad players. I think you could throw Icky out there to get some work. Thought Darnold should of been out there all last preseason. I don’t want vets that can actually play being thrown out there for 3 preseason games. 1 is good enough for them. DJ Moore doesn’t need to be out there for 3 games. Same for Moton and everyone else that is legit.
  2. When there were 4 preseason games….how many did you actually see the starters get any real work? Wasn’t largely a half in game 3 and maybe a series in game 2? I’m not looking for more than that. already know Baker is better. I don’t want to see our starters playing multiple series in preseason game 1. I think Rhule let’s it be the PJ show personally. Does him a solid and let’s him audition to get picked up elsewhere in game 1. I didn’t take his answer after actually watching him say it that he was really looking to play Sam/Baker. Seemed like textbook Rhule of just trying to avoid giving the media the actual answer early in the week. Which was basically his thing last camp. He gets all weird when he tries to play that game. think Rhule is planning on the Patriots game to be the game he plays/auditions the QBs. He trots them out for one game. Which is all he did last year with his starters.
  3. that’s means you have to play the starters the entire time Sam and Baker would be competing? Who wants that? It would double up the time you play our starters in a meaningless preseason game 1. It’s not a comp if one is with the 1s and one is with the 2s the next series.
  4. I bet they hardly play if at all this weekend. he will probably say he didn’t want to put them out there with all second string. Because who wants the actual starting lineup playing through a fake competition for 2 different QBs in the first preseason game.
  5. The literal point of these shows is to argue different positions. Whether they always believe them or not. and yeah, it basically is Simms acknowledging what everyone else knows. Baker is better and should start. Forced to argue the counter point of why he doesn’t have the job right now. Baker not being elite is also irrelevant. He should be given the job because he is clearly better. A high end backup is better than Sam. An average starter is a no brainer over Sam.
  6. I think PJ will log the most snaps in preseason.
  7. I’d rather see less Chubb. I hope Hunt plays.
  8. Enjoying your coverage and I enjoyed this Foster/Rhule mashup you tweeted too lol
  9. The GM shouldn’t be trading draft picks for a Matt Rhule 2022 season.
  10. Matt Rhule shouldn’t be allowed to trade draft picks. when cuts happen some old vet will get cut for young blood. That should be all he can work with
  11. Vegas also has Rhule as the most likely to get fired. I’ll go with Vegas over some unnamed PFF source. Plenty of scouts and and other unnamed NFL sources also call us a clusterfug, a college clownshow, etc too
  12. Again, I’m talking about how he always mismanages it….every year. It’s a running theme. How he goes about that has varied every year. But the fact he has made a mess of it is the constant. Pick a year where he didn’t. It seems you are suggesting he hasn’t made a mess of it every year. Again, I’m just betting it continues. It’s his calling card. And it always varies how he goes about the mess.
  13. I don’t know the history of it. They could be serious. Players do have family and friends that take to the internet
  14. Rhule has consistently mismanaged the QB spot horrifically since the day he was hired. I merely am a suggesting he continues doing what he does. I mean pick year. Any year would sound crazy if called in advance. That’s just Matt Rhule effect.
  15. Sam didn't have trash around him at USC and he couldn't stop the turning the ball over then either. He came into the league being a turnover guy. The NFL didn't make him that.
  16. I'd probably go Waddle like above. Hill is going to create opportunity for others. He demands too much coverage. Waddle is the benefactor and cheap Pitts seems too risky in that offense this year given the cost.
  17. No way in hell Sam Darnold was suppose to come back and unseat Cam Newton just because Cam had 2 weak/bad games. Rhule is likely going to mismanage the OL to start the season too. That's kind of Rhule's thing. Specifically the QB mismanagement. I'll keep betting on Rhule being Rhule until he proves he shouldn't be viewed that way.
  18. Sure. I would be delighted to lose that bet. I don't want to be right. I'll only do a week. I don't want to look at Matt Rhule's face on my profile but for so long.
  19. You have to remember Matt Rhule is the HC. Once you do that, why things make no sense become clearer
  20. Well, my theory on why he starts Sam first is that going to Baker then gives him something in order to extend his time. He can BS why he doesn’t start Baker out of the gate. If he starts Baker out of the gate, we suck and the boos come early like last year…he is fired in season. There are no scapegoats or players this year that would buy him more time if the stadium does what it did last year. Baker will start. Rhule wanted him. But I have said for some time I predict Sam opens on week 1 as the starter and Rhule gets out of him whatever he can first. He can only get usage out of Sam pre Baker IMO. Rhule is going to do Matt Rhule things. I will keep betting on that.
  21. watch Rhule trot Sam out there week 1. I still think those odds are way higher than the masses think.
  22. preach. Now, for a new update on something other than Matt Corral. Breaking News: PJ Walker remains undefeated.
  23. Matt Rhule currently the 5th highest paid HC in the NFL in 2022 lol.
