being a Clemson fan frankly has been a bore of late. Few games interesting. The Gamecock rivalry is basically dead because the talent gap is getting too big. I actually tuned in more often last season with DJ struggling because their was actual doubt for a change going in to Saturday. Winning without a pass attack is tough. But I doubt Clemson strikes out on 2 back to back 5 star #1 QB prospects so I think it likely gets boring again if Cade takes over.

Browns and Panther Fan Reactions to the Baker Mayfield Trade
CRA replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Baker would control his own destiny if he had a good year though. Go play somewhere else. we could tag him. Which doesn’t sound like a great idea. Tagging a streaky QB who got you to around .500 -
He has to win or the boos will be heard on every TV audio by week 5. The 2020 problem starts earlier than last year. and early boos at home clearly had impact last year.
-
and PJ keeps the job as backup
-
The Browns have had one of the better rosters in the NFL during the time span Baker was in Clev. not winning falls on the QB and coach.
-
All you have to do is look at the playbook from the prior season w/ Sam. Sam actually can be really good it was all the Jets. Or the one prior with Teddy. Teddy isn't Captain Checkdown!! He will be totally something new here. Baker was meh despite playing w/ one of the better overall rosters in the NFL. A good QB wins a lot of games when tasked to manage games w/ one of the better rosters in all the NFL. Baker isn't a good QB. But he will be more fun to watch than Sam. Baker will have his moments though. He always does.

Joe Person and The 33rd Team break down the Mayfield trade
CRA replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
it's a wasted year. But it would be a dangerous one....in regards to what the Panthers would do w/ Rhule and Baker after a 7 win season . -

worse case scenario falls in between that though. Baker isn't good but better than Sam. CMC stays healthy. We stumble into 7-8 wins. Which is another losing record. Rhule basically looks like the same guy we saw the first two years. But we win more games. What do you do? -
the brand

I’ll believe it when I see it. Rhule has managed everything about the QB position horribly. I got no faith that changes. We just pointlessly added Baker. So I suspect Rhule will continue to make Corral as pointless as possible. I think PJ has crazy high odds of being on the practice squad. Rules allow it now. Corral is on the regular roster and plays the role of emergency QB most of the season.

Florida ST and Miami don’t get bonus credit for past actions. I’m specifically talking about the SECE over the last half decade. Replace Clemson with UGA. That simply wouldn’t be a brutal division for the Clemson squads that have been around that featured Watson/Trevor and those DLs. the more outlandish position IMO is that Clemson would be fodder in SEC. Not if they took the same teams they have had into the SEC they wouldn’t. Clemson would still be at the top of college football with the same handful of teams. Which were the ones who had the best talent year after year. Maybe they look more like UGA and miss a playoff they made or something and have slightly fewer appearances. But Clemson has been too loaded and proved too much over a consistent period to think they couldn’t of come out or the SEC too during that window of success.
-
I give the teams that earned the praise their praise. Rest of the SEC largely lives off the work of a few these days. During that same window Clemson also took care of OU. If Clemson had been in the SEC with Watson, Trevor and those DLs…..they would have still been one of the top teams in the nation. It’s talent. And Clemson has had it where it matters the most. And they have proven that against Bama, Ohio St, Notre Dame, OU, etc. I mean you got to be a straight up Clemson hater to think they have not been one of the top teams in college football the past half decade regardless of where they played. They got the work in vs the best consistently to back it up.
-
Vandy Gamecocks Florida Missouri Kentucky Tenn That’s not a scary division. Clemson would have owned the SECE more so than UGA has in recent history because they have had better QB play. Bama and UGA stand alone. Only teams in the SEC that are consistent. It’s basically a 2 team conference of late where a random team flukes into a good season here or there.
-
Replace UGA with Clemson and tell me Clemson isn’t still a fixture in the college playoff championship the last several years. Clemson is 10-1 vs the SEC since 2015 in the regular season. The one loss UGA didn’t even score an offensive TD. Clemson wouldn’t be fodder in the SEC. only way Clemson would be fodder is if their QB and DL recruitment went south. As of right now the DL studs keep pouring in and Clemson is landing the #1 QB prospect every other season.
-
I mean we play the SEC every season. It’s part of our cakewalk schedule. Replace Clemson with UGA the past half decade in the SEC East…..it would have still largely been a cakewalk to the SEC Championship game for Clemson. SEC East still largely has lived off talking about Alabama (despite rarely playing them). Clemson has played Bama more often than every team in the East of late. .

He isn't a franchise QB. Like, Sam and Teddy before that...Baker is a question that has already been answered. and Matt Rhule is too. The brand is clearly insanity. Doing the same thing year after year and thinking somehow it will be different this time. Can't wait for Rhule season 4 - The Daniel Jones Project.
-
all this does is highlight how pointless the 2022 season is. Because when it comes to a conclusion......we won't have anything at the QB spot worth talking about. We will just be able to talk about a 3rd rounder who never got to show anything. I'd rather watch Baker than Sam though. I'd probably rather watch Baker react to being in the Rhule shitshow too. I mean, if Teddy was too strong of a personality for Rhule.....I'm sure Baker will be too.
-
we got Tepper. Call it relative push there. Jags got the clear HC/QB edge in terms of building something worthwhile over Carolina.
-
Fun fact: In the last half decade Clemson has beaten Alabama more times than any school actually in the SEC. Bonus fun fact: In the last half decade Clemson has more wins over Ohio State than any actual school in the Big10. Clemson could just take the Gamecocks spot in the SEC. They wouldn’t be missed and don’t belong.

Corral’s looked like manbearpig.
-
I'd probably go Shaq today. Largely because Panther fans universally agree Moton is really good.
-
1. TMJ 2. Jackson *in fairness to Jackson, I think he will basically just be the same guy he largely always has been for us. But I think he will get some heat given how he got overrated last year.

at drawing the Panther logo from memory

I mean, you go to any team that has a trash QBs.....and good players that understand team sports will praise the bad QB. I wouldn't want DJ to talk about Rhule, Sam, etc like I do. It might be true but it would make DJ a problem.

I can't find it but I would be curious to see what our opponents average starting field position was vs the rest of the league.
