  1. Those are individuals though and its a generalized statement. Generally, which implies overall, teams present a happy face. I mean you can nitpick exceptions that counter any generalized point. You could go to the Bengals, Lions, etc during their darkest eras and leading up to a season they are generally promoting hope, excitement, change etc. You can find positive player PR early in Jacksonville last year. That’s what teams and players largely present early. Optimism. Hope. Even if things don’t actually sit right in the back of their head. Human nature to a degree when you are about to kick something of pending you got some good leadership. Moton, Shaq, CMC, Moore all seem like the types to steer the team toward the sunshine to start a season. I just don’t think that talk means anything. Not here or anywhere else. And I’m not arguing anything said here is true or false. Just the overall fact I don’t put much in the public face a team presents to kick of a season .
  2. Can you name any team that doesn’t present overall enthusiasm before a season? Generally speaking everyone puts on that face.
  3. They have a top DE duo in the NFL. DT play is nothing to write home about. RT was out last Sunday. C weak. But the rest is really strong. Good Gs. Good OTs when both are healthy.
  4. True, but Rhule has a habit of being called out on things and course correcting for a week. Not always, but it happens some. but yeah, overall McAdoo is going to do what he does. Go pass heavy out of 11 personnel week after week For example about the course correct when called on stuff, McAdoo got called out for his bullshit repeated personnel and the fact he only put 3 WRs on the field all game. McAdoo claimed some 50 play defense but that was bologna. Tons of teams only got 50 something plays. Teams with 50 plays put different WRs on the field because they don’t want defenders looking at the same dude running out of the same formation for 50 straight plays. Now suddenly TMJ has the greatest practice of all time out of nowhere. What a coincidence. Thankfully to the best practice of his life McAdoo might be able to put Higgins and TMJ on the field occasionally and mix up some looks and plays.
  5. I think last year the Giants entire offense was hurt or something like that. There is no game I feel confident in at this stage.
  6. yep. I know the Giants will run the football though. New coach seems smart enough that we are getting a full dose of Barkley. Who knows what the Panther O will attempt to be. Got know clue what either D will attempt to do. Matt Rhule's teams IMO tend to do something dumb and almost go overkill the other direction sometimes so that's something to watch.
  7. I'm largely talking PSL. And they held off on increasing them last year because we sucked so bad. But that's what they want to do. The PSL franchises keep raising and raising them because it's not 1% of revenue. PSLs, butts in the seats, and local dollars matter to a greedy billionaire who got into this to increase his wealth.
  8. watch us over committed to Barkley and Daniel Jones gash us for a couple big runs. It might look goofy and is. But Jones has some underrated speed with his legs and it looks like they are working that in.
  9. Rhule going to have to get caught at the club being wierd and kick a kicker I guess in today's NFL
  10. it's really hard to look worse than we did in 2021. I mean, that season gets essentially every coach without a history of success fired in the NFL. Urban was taking up too much oxygen and attention. That was a once in a decade type clusterfug that gave Rhule some cover.
  11. we don't have the bodies to stop the run IMO without compromising our coverage. But this is a game we likely could afford to do that.
  12. I think Baker will be more comfortable simply because he will be facing lesser talent on the DL. Will he play good? Who knows. Gunslingers can go both ways. But I think we will have opportunties for big plays in the pass game. really hope we see something better from McAdoo though in terms of gameplan. We need more CMC and he has to get away from being so stuck on the same formations. NFL Sirius was talking about that other night about how McAdoo has always been too fixated on his 11 personnel looks and it is going to limit CMC. Not limit the ability to give him touches but from an actual production stand point. This team is going to have to be balanced or even leaned toward the O this year to win games.
  13. coin flip game. the less stupid team wins the game.
  14. I’ve ever portrayed Tepper as being totally at fault for the RH mess. I’ve always blamed RH for their stake in it. But some were acting earlier like Tepper didn’t have his fair stake as to why it was clusterfug. I believe it keeps getting clearer he was part of the problem there.
  15. simply owning a professional sports team the last several decades has been a very good investment. The values have gone up for even mediocre franchises.
  16. I mean, I don't know what the truth really is the all the fine details on Watson. But any contract with him that Tepper did want was a nightmare waiting to happen. So I don't think nitpicking that his version would be less horrific really helps defend him in the judgement department. recent reports don't make it sound like bullshit to just drive up settlements. Sounds like what most assume, that Tepper wasn't innocent in the clusterfug and does business "messy".
  17. No, Tepper isn't running the day to day. He is hiring the people that do that. And that has been a pretty dysfunctional ride from the outside looking in since he has taken over. and I don't view him as hands off. Tepper wanted THE contract. He wanted us to have the mess the Browns have on their hands. We oddly, can only thank Watson for not wanting us. Tepper is being sued right now for what appears to be some shady financial tomfoolery. And he doesn't win. I doubt in league circles he is greatly respected. Basically, his only contribution to the "club of NFL owners".....is skewing HC salaries and probably costing teams a couple extra nickels.
  18. well, I still would contend outside factors have already proven to influence Tepper. When things went south in 2021.... Tepper went out and amended fences with Cam Newton to keep his team from being booed out of BOA for half the season.
  19. what do you think is going to happen after 4th straight 5 win season is getting put on the books and no sign of Rhule getting fired? you think the % of PSL's owned is going to increase, stay the same, or go down? They already were unable to increase prices like they wanted to because they know the product hasn't been good enough for folks.
  20. we will see, I tend to side with the reporting that came out during the complete nightmare of 2021. Truths come out when things are bad. I don't think Tepper is happy with Rhule. I think this is a painful marriage about to end. it was reported he wasn't happy with Rhule. Already discussing new HC hires. And in that same reporting it still acknowledged Tepper was going to still have a year 3 with Rhule.
  21. reporting last year said Tepper was already thinking about the next hire and prospects. there are only 32 of these jobs in the entire world. We can go 0-17 and still find a decent head coach. look at the Jags. They are a shitshow. They just got a decent HC off the Urban debacle. I mean, he is a retread but a good coach.
  22. I agree, I don't think he is humbled. But he has admitted that he was wrong about a lot early on when he arrived. Make of that whatever you want I guess. Only thing I would disagree with is NFL front offices around the league. I do think they view him as a failure to date in regards to football. Can say that about others too like the Khan. They don't give a poo about soccer, Garth Brooks, where he made his money because that isn't the conversation. Think clusterfug was what Person said people called the Panther org. Which isn't much of a hot take if you look at the Panther org since he took over.
  23. What about a 0-11 at home streak? I think the home games decide his fate. Can he beat AZ, NO, San Fran, Tampa? All 4 of those teams have the ability to run at us too.
  24. keeping Rhule after a 3rd straight 5 win season is easy. Keeping the BOA seats from being empty and still being able to sell tickets for the price you want going forward? Not as easy. Tepper does give a fug about money/financial success. He also cares about his image. And Matt Rhule simply can't continue to be what he is....and it not eventually become a really bad business deal for Tepper. And I am not talking the actual Rhule contract here. And there is nothing saying he won't act to that IMO
  25. if he doesn't win at home, it's going to be tough for him to get the whole season.
