  1. Why don't we bring back Greg Hardy. He will play for cheap. I mean, it's 2023. He beat that girl a prior year. I doubt he does it anymore. I mean, that's the thing about sports. It's like politics. Too many exceptions and looking the other way goes down when it is your team. No Panther fan should want Payton. He has a history of being called out on alcohol/drug abuse, bountygate, etc. Every year we are seeing great new offensive minds enter the league. We go looking in the past and give up multiple draft picks to a division rival for it.
  2. I mean, I literally have said 100 times I want nothing to do with Wilks. It’s just a repeat of what we have claimed we wanted to improve on. But I can’t endorse giving away draft picks to a division rival for douchebag Payton. That’s the real point
  3. Wilks is at least at his core is what the best of the Panthers has always been about. Keep Pounding. Payton? A pill popping, bountygate (against our Panthers) villain that we rightfully disliked. I don’t want Wilks. But Payton having a ring doesn’t mean we should want him. It makes no sense. Why give up a bunch of picks to our division rival for a douchebag coach??? That’s not building things the right way from the ground up. I’ll strongly consider being done with the Panthers if Tepper fugs up a 2nd hire badly. It’s just a football team. And I have switched teams before.
  4. Payton? The cost of acquiring him alone should make it a no go. Then we give those picks to a division rival? It’s like 2 bad deals in one. Then he is a scumbag to top it off.
  5. Mahomes and competition have nothing to do with a franchise being well run or not. That’s something else. Same with whether or not Wilson is busted or not. Think a reasonable person would want a look at him in a better offense before that is confirmed or not. Wilson has always been an odd duck. Nothing new there.
  6. I mean, Wilks is just going to repolish Keep Pounding. Volume 3. Which is a drastic improvement over what Matt Rhule did here. We saw that in season last year. But we should forget Rhule ever existed and pretend Ron Rivera was just fired.
  7. I mean, he is an agreeable guy that can get along with people. That’s the article. I don’t disagree with that from what we have seen. But so was Hurndawg. Marty was easy to work with if you were a HC.
  8. I mean, I’m known to have a hot take or two…..but calling out the Texans and Colts front offices as bad is far from my wildest. I do think Denver is the best gig. I mean if you had a kid that was going to be a HC….that’s the job you steer them to IMO. Leftwich opted to attempt another run at a ring with the GOAT. Which seems a little different than these current coordinators to me.
  9. True. But my stance is the young OCs are passing on us because of our front office. And he also passed on the Texans and Colts. 2 other giant red flag front offices.
  10. But again, that’s a front office picking a HCs staff for him. And if Payton doesn’t then come? that’s not the normal NFL model. HCs want to bring their own staff with them. Not have their coordinators chosen for them. Sounds dysfunctional. Sounds Panthery. and let’s just pretend for a minute Payton isn’t the guy we hire. I don’t buy this just being a Payton move. I think it is Tepper trying something different and going too far to correct a prior mistake. He feels duped by Rhule. Now overcorrecting. And young coordinators don’t want the gig. Which you almost never see. And we have multiple now staying away. Because what new HC wants Tepper/Fitt telling them who their coordinators are going to be.
  11. I would think Sean Payton largely already has who he wants ready to go wherever he goes. I don't think the Panthers have the ability to take his preferred option off the market. His guy is just going to wait on him to go wherever and then Payton hires him.
  12. I mean, but that's still not the norm. They weren't interviewing Joe Brady publicly because Matt Rhule wanted to bring him in. I do find it odd that we have seen 2 young coordinators pass on a NFL HC opportunity here. Think that says a lot. I mean, I just can't blindly act like our front office suddenly is now smart. I think they are just doing more dumb stuff. Just different dumb stuff.
  13. If you want Sean Payton you just hire him and let him build out his team/staff. Simple as that. You don’t need a bad front office dictating coordinators to a HC hire. Now have 2 young coordinators saying no thanks to a NFL HC opportunity here. What’s that say.
  14. So the Panthers are interviewing for coordinators the same time as HC? so that means are front office essentially wants to put a staff together themselves vs letting the HC do it? That sounds like a nice way to make the job unattractive to a young HC. Not let him hire his own team but give him one? Just put the requirement he has to have a former HC on staff and let him choose where it goes
  15. this seems like my worst case scenario. And I think Payton is just using us. Nor do I want him. I don't want an old school DC. That's Wilks. Too conservative. You can't change it. and Payton is horrible. He is Sean Payton.
  16. yeah, the Sam Darnold deal and contact was terrible given the situation we were in. A rebuilding team paid for the worst starting QB in the NFL and predictably got just that. and it's not just about dollars/cost. It's about building and reps. Adding horrific vets to take reps and start isn't how you build a team. Take this past offseason, Corral got no reps hardly in camp. Why? Because we had horrific vets QBs taking all the reps. yes, I question giving up the farm for Matt Stafford. He was a rental for a team a QB away. Which means Stafford made a lot of sense for the Rams.....and made literally zero sense for the rebuilding Carolina Panthers. So we would have given up the farm for a QB washed after 1 year into his rental that we gave up the farm for it. And we wouldn't have a title or anything to show for acquiring him. Just lost draft picks that a rebuilding team needs. The Ram and Panthers weren't comparable. We were supposed to rebuild. Rhule/Fitt weren't doing that well. At all. Too often they were making moves of a win now franchise. And Fitt shouldn't get a pass
  17. CJ Henderson, Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, etc. Not to mention we tried to give away the farm for Watson, Stafford, etc. Thankfully those players saved Fitt and company from themselves. Yeah, pretty sure in on every deal has PROVEN to put us into conversations and then pulling the trigger on players we shouldn't be adding. and the GM is drafting DBs and passing on QBs in the top 10 lol. Which is why you can't call Fitt good at this stage.
  18. Fitt is still gigantic unknown IMO. Can't really call him a good GM. Incomplete is really the only grade he can get. Tepper hasn't proven he is willing to move on from mistakes quickly. See Rhule getting a pointless 3rd year. It was painfully clear it was time to move on from him and he willingly chose to waste everyone's time.
  19. Carolina being "in on every deal" has proven to not be something to boast about. We are in on all the players we shouldn't be adding to the roster.
  20. Damn impressive. Trevor went full blown Jake Delhomme vs AZ…..and shook that off to comeback and win.
  21. I think Wilks could get us in playoff contention. His DNA is too conservative to really put you in contention of being anything special though. Goff still put up nearly 400 yards and 3 passing TDs on us. Their run game just didn't show up at all.
  22. give me Ben Johnson. That's the type guy we should of gone after when we let Ron go. *requirement is he hires a DC that was former HC or something along those lines. I want my green HC to have someone on staff that has been through it all.
