look like a non-contact injury rolling to his right. right leg. the opposite of his last injury.

Relax. I'm sure we will be... the toughest, hardest working, most competitive team in the country/NFL

rookie QB? 2nd day of NFL training camp? Throwing to dudes he essentially just met?
-
I mean all he really has to do is pull a Denver John Fox. Just worry about your defense and basically let Aaron Rodgers do whatever he wants. Took Fox a second I think to get that but he eventually understood.
-
I assume Payton knows he only has a shot at a wildcard and knows the Jets are probably the favorite to snatch one. I'd put my money on NY over Denver to get one.

Nah, but they want to control the content and narrative that surrounds the team this time of year. if fans are out there with their cameras and spamming the internet then the narrative is whatever it spontaneously evolves into online.

Anybody else think we are putting to much on Bryce's plate?
CRA replied to DennisM1's topic in Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton was in a great spot. Double Trouble in the backfield. Multiple pro bowlers on the OL. A pro bowl TE and a soon to be pro bowl TE playing in 2 TE sets Hall of Fame WR Cam Newton went to a team that had a horrible record. The talent for Cam was far from horrible. -

No reason to date to think we are putting too much on Bryce's plate. But I definitely think you can put too much on a player that isn't ready. Maybe it's the wording. But you can set folks up for success or failure. Let's say we asked Bryce Young to do what a vintage Brady to do last year. That would be 40+ pass attempts per game. That would be asking too much for a rookie QB. No indication this staff would be stupid though. -

You are right. You win. Miles Sanders is a great 3rd down RB. -

keeping score isn't that hard when it's only been going on way. anyway, feel free to holla at me when you have been proven to be right. -

I mean, you can call me negative. Board is here for diverse opinions. The reality of our convos of late when this time of year comes have just been me being right and you wrong though. Guess we will see who ends up getting the lionshare of the 3rd down RB work this year. I'm going with not Miles Sanders. He will get early down work. As he should. -
Best post Cam Newton throw to date is PJ Walker to DJ Moore in the last one vs Atlanta when DJ took his helmet off.

I mean the defender did pull up. But I think that was because he couldn't make a play on it when he got there. He was sort of drifting in and the ball placement went the other direction on him when he got there. I don't know if Young saw him. But I think the trailing DB didn't have an angle to light Chark up or break it up when got to the spot he thought he needed to get to IMO

Dalton lucky their ain't no DBO sign. That's a lap.

Just hoping you might actually be right. I mean at least be right one time. -

I haven't ignored that. Evaluating someone as a 3rd down option isn't just about looking at the official drop tally on their stat sheet boss. Someone could have 0 drops and suck at the job. You don't read. I already acknowledged the GM/staff is likely waiting to see if someone wows them at camp in that role. Again, there would be no one to patch that niche issue with until cuts. -

I'm not going nuts. I think we should round out our backfield before the season starts. You do that with cuts and bring in a niche guy. It's doable. So I talk about it. Again, seems like a pretty reasonable and doable thing to help the rookie. We have a hole there and I suspect we do it pending someone doesn't just blow them away in camp. Saying Miles Sanders and Hubbard aren't great receiving/3rd down options isn't outlandish. Nor is wanting to improve the RB position to cater to Young. my last outlandish claims prior to we should round out our backfield for the rookie QB we just invested in...... was Matt Rhule sucked. Ben McAdoo sucked. Sam sucked. Baker sucked. Real reaches lol. -

I mean, you do realize the roster isn't set. League is full of niche/specialist players. Scott ain't done tweaking. That's just my want of tweaks. maybe you will do better with your prediction of how things play out this year vs the ones you were making around this time last year. -

I mean, depth and a well rounded backfield seems like something everyone should want. I mean even if you love Miles Sanders game. He has suited for a full season once. So then Hubbard is the every down RB or you go scrambling in season? I just like more stability around a rookie QB. That's generally how they grow and see success. Put a bunch of dudes around them that are good at what they are asked to do. I'm talking about spending peanuts on niche player to ensure Bryce is successful and people flipping their lids as it is somehow disrespectful to Miles Sanders lol. -

well, I will continue to hope that either Shenault proves capable of an expanded role and if not, they add a quality guy for that role in our backfield when cuts happen. Preferably the latter as Young's health and growth are frankly the only thing I care about in 2023. -

I don't claim they rated him him poorly as receiver among RBs. They did. They have multiple times. logically, for a lot of the same reasons Philly steadily took him out of that role after his rookie season. Which was documented along the way. His struggles post rookie season in that role. -

Well, I didn't start there. I started sharing some of the talk out of Philly that you somehow couldn't find on the ole google machine. You countered by sharing people praising his rushing. people around here love PFF stats every week after a game. I largely use it for fantasy and it's flawed. But yeah, generally when they say you are worst in the NFL at something......it's a stretch to claim they are actually solid at it. For example, I doubt you could find any player using PFF stats that ranked #1 or dead last in their rankings on something and argue in reality that they are actually good/bad at that. I mean, Miles Sandes excluded. Because that apparently is what you are going with now. It's interesting, so it's cool to critique an area of Hubbard's game. But not Miles. -

CRA replied to DennisM1's topic in Carolina Panthers
when you pull up the RBs the list actually includes 2 FBs in the overall listing. Probably some glitch pulling them in as they are supposed to filter out. 149 was FB Adam Prentice. I mean, PFF is what it is. Like I said, love it or hate. They are mixing in all sorts of things into their grade evaluations besides just a math tally of credited stats. So two players with identical credited stats aren't going to grade the same. I think they should add a solid vet in cuts that has proven to be really good in that role. I mean, that largely remains my point. Which is why I alluded to all the Shenault talk they keep up with. They simply may be giving him a real shot to prove he can do more in the backfield. That would be the spot. But him being forced into protection would be the issue/unproven realm with him. -

Good rusher. That's what he is. He gets credit for that. We needed one. Dude has holes in his game. Bryce Young is what matters. Matters why more than the annual over the top hype train game. We need more in our backfield than Sanders and Hubbard. That's not controversial.
