  1. We don’t have the roster yet. Name the best two offensive players on our team. When asked people generally will respond with some answer of well we just got a lot of good guys so that really is our advantage. Yet for every other playoff caliber team it’s a pretty easy feat. we play in a potentially bad division. Sneaking in that way doesn’t make you playoff caliber.
  2. Because the expectation is he becomes a franchise QB and organization changer. Like a Cam. And you don’t make the move thinking you get the MVP caliber QB…..his rookie season. He has to develop.
  3. The 2010 vs 2022 record doesn’t carry much weight. 2010 won 1 game because Jimmy touched the ball every game and Fox was a lameduck. 2011 Cam won 6 games and most came late with a better OL, TEs, RBs and WR corp than Young has….while rewriting the record books. winning is hard for a rookie QB. Especially without a top of the league D and HOF caliber skill guys to help the rookie find wins.
  4. I think the board has high odds of being in peak overreaction mode since so many have this a playoff lock team rookie QB, new O and new D. Too much on Young’s shoulders IMO. It should be about his development not these expectations. Cam got to 6 with a pretty stacked O in comparison and most came late @Atl NO @ Sea Minn @ Det @ Mia Bye I think we will be dogs in virtually every one of those games.
  5. But a good non-Rhule caliber staff doesn’t erase all those factors from existing. it’s not the formula for playoff caliber team. Could the division be so bad someone has to go? Maybe. and to an extent Frank and his staff is getting a bump simply because it’s such a stark contrast to Rhule. Pitched as one of the greatest staffs ever assembled
  6. we have to develop a rookie QB we have a brand new offense to develop we have a brand new defense to develop that’s never the making of a playoff team. and we have a pretty bland cast around Young. It’s not like we have HOFers that are going to go out there and make it happen on their own to aid Bryce.
  7. Corral looked like a guy who got hurt last preseason and wasn’t repping. Got to consider him a rookie again. Game looks too fast. Which makes sense.
  8. Drive 1 - D.J. Chark Jr., Adam Thielen, Jonathan Mingo Drive 2 - Adam Thielen, Terrace Marshall Jr., Laviska Shenault Jr. Drive 3 - Jonathan Mingo, Terrace Marshall Jr., Shi Smith https://x.com/pff_natejahnke/status/1690474696951607296?s=46&t=f55N0zsNFevD-XGJBWj1-A I mean Young was given all the guys. It’s what we had been praising. Tons of great options with no go to guy. People shouldn’t no where the ball is going. I think the biggest issue is there is some basic game planning. For example, the Jets were out there playing with no respect for the deep ball. Which is going to muck up small ball,
  9. Bryce Young was the only first round pick to not throw a INT on his debut opening drive
  10. Was Hekker actually good? Seemed like he was barely kicking today in person. Wonder what his average distance per punt was. Almost like they were scared of our coverage team to do its job.
  11. All the skill players were out there with Young. Miles was the only one held out and we knew that a couple days ago. Bryce had everyone. Jets vanilla D also happened to be one that had no respect for the deep ball. Which makes dink and dunk harder
  12. I mean, I really just care about watching new young QBs in preseason. The rest doesn't do it for me. So Bryce will be fun. And frankly, I'm really looking forward to Corral getting a lot of reps. I would we actually learn the most about him this preseason than anyone just because of volume.
  13. well, historically, winless teams have overwhelmingly sucked in the regular season. So, call it a meaningless coincidence. Not saying I put a lot in that and now there are only 3 which probably makes any old trend pointless.
  14. history says you don't want to go winless. That's about it.
  15. We also allowed the 11th most first downs on the ground. Allowed the 11th most TDs on the ground. and had one of the top 10 worst units in terms of allowing 3rd down conversations. we weren't atrocious. We weren't good. I'd safely call it below average.
  16. That's not a fact. If Hurts never left Bama he still goes to the NFL. Path and opportunity of play would have played out different but he 100% gets drafted and goes the NFL. And the proof is all the other QBs who have gotten drafted mid to late round every year for decades. Worst case scenario he gets drafted as an athlete. Armanti Edwards was a freaking 3rd round pick or whatever it was. Hurts was going to the NFL.
  17. I mean OU was essential to his career playing out like it did as a pro. but yeah, his college football resume is Bama heavy.
  18. I mean, Hurts lead Bama to 2 consecutive national championships. OU just made him a better QB/player There is a reason Hurts reps both
  19. new scheme. new coaches. I think it might be a little boom or bust early on. Maybe inconsistent being the right word. I expect a solid unit by the end of the year.
  20. He has 26 starts under his belt already. I had no clue he had played that much football.
  21. Just for perspective and this game is already boring. Cam comp % in preseason as a rookie Game 1 - 42% Game 2 - 50% Game 3 - 31% Game 4- 60% for 25 yards and his first pass TD and obviously then went on to break almost every passing record for a rookie
  22. Yeah, I remember that run too. Pretty epic run and I think was the play that allowed Ron to name him the starter. It was the 3rd game. Cam spent most that preseason looking not ready to be a NFL passer. Ron was looking for anything to give Cam the job.
  23. Cam actually had pretty rough entire preseason. Im not sure he even threw a TD pass and played in all 4. No one saw the opening game coming
