Cade was a 5 star and the #1 overall QB of his class. DJU was a 5 star and the #1 overall QB of his class. Clemson most definitely has problems. This recruiting angle just doesn't fly. Clemson's worst recruiting class in the last 4 years was a still a top 10 class. No one in the ACC is close to their classes. He hasn't stopped recruiting talent. Clemson wins that contest in the ACC in a landslide. Has he lost the ability to evolve his offense going forward without a best in all of college football caliber QB? I think that is it. Cade was doing the same predictable junk he had DJU doing. QB play, bad or good, is just too big of a difference maker.

Clemson has absurd talent vs the rest of the ACC. That's just a fact. Poor QB play is just as big of a game changer as great QB play. That's the issue. Not recruiting. Not talent. and DJU and Cade were both the #1 QB recruits in the entire nation of their classes. You can't recruit better than the #1 QB of a class. He didn't stop recruiting talent. Dabo has them instantly looking like middle schoolers. and it certainly appears Dabo has just put his thumbprint on this O to a fault. I can call the plays ahead of time. It's been that way for years. So you know a college defense can figure it out. Clemson went 11-3 last year with arguably THE worst QB play in all the power 5. Was pretty much the same the year prior too. Clemson can pull off those great bad years with no QB play.....because the talent in Clemson isn't comparable elsewhere in the ACC

Clemson has the most talented roster in the ACC. And these are some of the best QB prospects any team in the nation can land. Whatever the talent advantage has been is still in play. Clemson has really one issue. It’s the passing game. Everything else is in place and has been. And it’s clearly a coaching/scheme issue. Because it’s 5 star QBs looking like D3 backups. Got to think it’s Dabo thumbprint of how they are managing the QB/pass game. It’s all the same offense on repeat even with Riley,

Well, I’ll just be a super homer. If you were going to lose a game, week 1 is the week to do it. Clemson dropping a game to an unranked ACC team isn’t something we haven’t seen before. I’ll just be delusional and think they got time time fix it and the QB/OC can grow and get better. 10-3 still on the table and keeping the double win streak alive.

and these are also 5 star super gets by Clemson. So it’s not just they are just making QBs look bad. They are making top tier prospects look like they belong in D3.

No but they would have counted as a quality win for FSU if FSU has the season they hope for. Clemson is really the only one on the schedule for FSU. So it robbed them of claiming 2 wins against top 10 teams. Clemson is really the only team in the ACC with real weight to their name. And the only ranked opponent FSU will likely see. Someone might sneak into the bottom of the top 25 I guess.

I’m not sure Dabo would want to follow up Saban. It would basically be like a coach signing up to follow Dabo. You aren’t going to look good.

Well, I don’t disagree. But that’s why I was excited for this year and Garett Riley. But that was horrible on Riley’s part. That’s the worst Cade has looked. Maybe it’s Dabo putting his thumb print on it. It sure did seem DJUish. The design and asks of the QB.

If you fire Dabo, there is basically a 99% chance you are going to do worse than Dabo. Maybe greater than that, because the better coaches ain’t coming to Clemson.

Probably a little with the fans. reality is Dabo could run the wildcat and find a way to get close to 10 wins. People are gonna do the Clemson bashing for awhile but it still won’t change the talent gap. Every opponent isn’t going to get the results Duke did tonight when Clemson drives the field on them. Clemson is going to win a lot of ugly games in the ACC. Just like the last 2 years. They aren’t title contenders. They will be tough for virtually everyone not named FSU though.

Well, congrats Duke fans. Congrats ACC and Gamecock fans. I think the end of the Dabo era officially is near. Signs have been there for awhile but I think the fans will start to turn on him soon. He took a Clemson to the mountain top and the fall down won’t be fun for him

Yeah. It’s not the right call. It might be because they fugged up the rule book after that play. I’m sure they will change it then. You can’t separate the hit from the play.

Biggest winner tonight is probably DJU. Got to think he is feeling redeemed.

Duke is much better than the average football fan thinks But I mean, you can’t ignore the comedy show by Clemson inside the Duke 5 in the 2nd half when telling this story. I don’t think that takes the credit away.

Meh, they clearly got the talent to of deserved that preseason ranking. They dominated the 2nd half with no QB play. They just drove 3 straight times inside 10 and walked away with zero points. Twice to the 1 with a first and goal at the 1. its just a comedy of horrific luck at this point. They are mentally done now. And no one could have predicted the QB play would be like this with Garrett Riley.

I mean, this is a a comedy at this point. Never seen something like this before. Not this 2nd half. Clemson should be up big at this point. They drive straight down to the one again.

ACC needs Clemson to squeak out an ugly win here. Pad their record before that FSU game. So FSU can have one more game that looks good on paper
