in a fairness, almost all NFL teams are run like Mom and Pop operations. There is no board to keep happy.

Draft picks are still lotto tickets. Always a chance to really hit on something special there. Steve Smith was a 3rd round pick. You can find a Jerry caliber player in free agency and it doesn't cost a lotto ticket. So why not go that route for that caliber of player. Use lotto tickets to play the lotto. Use free agency to get Jerry caliber players.

No. Scott Fitterer should not be allowed to trade away any of our draft picks. Next GM isn't going to have any and I feel the next GM has high odds of being here after this season is over.

to add to this... 2021 - Colts #2 rush O 2020 - Colts #11 rush O 2019 - Colts #7 rush O Frank wants to run the ball. It's a problem that we can't. Those thinking the plan vs Seattle is a working plan that will lead to good outcomes? If you ask Dalton to do that again, it's probably a trainwreck more times than not. We got lucky the Seahawks didn't get better outcomes off the pressure. Can't ask any QB to throw that much behind this OL. Especially, any rookie QB. Also Bryce at Alabama 2022 - Bama averaged 195 rushing yards per game 2021 - Bama averaged 150 rushing yards per game Asking a QB to pass 52 a game and giving your running backs 12 rush attempts is a recipe for complete disaster. For any QB behind this OL. The pressures we give up invite turnovers. Especially a rookie QB. Not only do we have a team that has set Bryce up for failure... we got people encouraging gameplans that encourage the rookie to fail.
-
Bryce is still a rookie QB. About to make his 3rd start. Seattle isn’t a blueprint. Andy Dalton has played for a billion years and that was the most he had ever attempted in a game. That’s how you lose. Especially , when your OL is allowing that type pressure. Pass that much while allowing that type pressure is a recipe for failure. Dalton and us got lucky it didn’t go very poorly. Because that’s what passing that much behind a OL that bad is setting up. Franks teams have always run the ball. That’s not saying we should be doing what Wilks did here
-
Frank doesn’t want to do what we did vs Seattle. That’s how you lose. Frank wants to run the ball. He just can’t here. Given the pressure Dalton faced we got lucky. You allow those absurd pressures again, you are going to see the other side of that pressure coin.

In the full interview Cam actually seems to like aspects of Dave. Just doesn’t think he understands the NFL and what it really takes to put a team together. Good dude/intent but bad owner vibes. Gettlemen once again the consistent guy that everyone seems to dislike.

Like most weeks I don’t think it’s about Bryce but those around him if they play him. OL is allowing insane pressure. Even with Dalton. Andy survived a week as a 10+ year pro bowl vet. But that amount of pressure getting into the backfield would lead to bad outcomes for him more times than not. Minny comes at the QB at a rate higher than anyone and is finally getting a weaker OL matchup after facing some tough ones. Even Frank today was like, let’s be honest, they are going to get us and it’s about limiting how often. Which isn’t exactly the mindset you love to hear. Just seems like a bad matchup for great numbers for the QB. Think Carolina needs to find a run game and lean on it to have a real chance. And for Frank to give the play calling to Brown to scheme up some guys off the play action. Probably move the pocket more too.

Talks about rookies playing that were in a good position to play as rookies. Gives Russell Wilson as an example. Setup for early success. Situation was good. it’s the whole good position, bad position narrative. You can ruin hurt guys by putting them in bad spots. We are presently not a great situation for Bryce to be successful and grow. It’s about what they put around him. What they ask of him as a QB.

I said it was never just about waiting on the doctors. He has repeatedly spoken about it’s not just about them giving a thumbs up. Which is why the reporter tried to get some more info on the 3 prong mantra. Where the doctor ends and he and Bryce begins. And wasn’t giving it. My preference was Stroud. But I could accept Bryce or Richardson But they have done a poor job if Bryce was the pick around him. Which is my primary issue. Has been since before the season started and it has gone as I predicted. Talent doesn’t suit his skill set and what he will want to do. Defenses are going to sit on the small ball and people will then get mad at Bryce. Called it all. And that’s not really his fault. We don’t have the players to play small ball with defenses playing a rookie in that manner. And that’s going to be Bryce’s game. Always was.
-
From top to bottom, it’s not set up for him to be successful. a person like Bryce could be scarred, just like any other QB could, if thrown to the wolves too early https://x.com/avl_mike/status/1707123130605715956?s=46&t=f55N0zsNFevD-XGJBWj1-A https://x.com/kj_wright34/status/1707068331419984077?s=46&t=f55N0zsNFevD-XGJBWj1-A Cam also gives his side on the great preseason debate about his cast vs Bryce’s. Not even close.

it’s all bullshitty coach speak. You choose to selectively treat certain things as some sort of gospel. Frank specifically says little for a reason. You aren’t suppose to know what is going on and in house. All teams paint all sorts of narratives on everything big and small. I’m a Bryce guy. I a want him to be successful. Giving him a breather was the first smart thing I have seen Frank do. And I hope he plays Dalton again this week. Because I don’t think Frank is close to solving the mess around the QB yet. He needs to do that. We are currently a place more suited to derail Bryce than grow him present day.
-
You watch the presser today? Is that reporter a conspiracy theorist? The one that followed up on Frank’s 3 prong approach? They asked because it’s not just about doctors giving a green light. They listened to Frank. Doctors are only a voice. Important but they aren’t making the call alone. Which Frank reinforced in today’s presser for a 2nd time. And Frank has never shared anything a doctor has ever said on Bryce. Think they went fishing today on if Frank would advise when Bryce was given a thumbs up to practice and Frank wasn’t telling. So again, it’s all guessing. I just acknowledge I do it.
-
Because of where he landed. He landed somewhere to be successful and grow. Tom Brady doesn’t develop into the same QB if he lands with all 31 other teams
-
If thinking Bryce Young got a break after a rough start makes me a conspiracy theorist….it makes me a boring one. But so be it. Call it what you want. And yes it is me reading between the lines. Which I always admit to doing while doing it LOL. nothing nefarious or outlandish about that though. You can disagree with my take. Calling that take outlandish or nefarious is funny though.

I mean, I have said 100x I am making assumptions, educated guesses, etc. That's what I am doing. Not my fault if you can't handle that people are going to do that. I'm not going around claiming statements were made that haven't been. Frank never said that, which is why a reporter attempted to get clarification on the whole, doctor, Bryce, Frank decision making aspect. Because Frank never said they were just waiting on a doctor.

a 3rd down RB is largely referencing a scenario. A 3rd and short scenario could be and often is a spot where you would insert an early down RB for example. And an early down RB can catch passes. Because teams shouldn't function as run, run, pass. 3rd and long and clear cut pass scenarios.....it's been overwhelmingly Hubbard in that role. That's your 3rd down RB right now in Carolina. Which isn't what Hubbard is. He's an early down RB too. Which is why they are dusting off Cohen. you are the one disagreeing. Feel free to break down the 3rd and longs and tell me it's not overwhelming Hubbard. I'll gladly eat crow if it's not.

our media coverage is really weak. All the good ones gone. Sheena about the only one that will step up put some pressure on folks.
-
I mean, after the Matt Rhule era I probably would have come in and been like... to not get drafted. I mean, Tomlin is pretty hard nosed. Never had a losing season. Ever. So I tend to lean toward Tomlin being right over our guys about folks. Plus I think teams leak whatever they want to justify their picks and make them look good. Don't second guess us. He was a bad interview. DJ Johnson was a great one. So obviously we picked DJ.
-
still wish we would have drafted Darnell Washington. Steelers have essentially used him as a 6th offensive lineman.
-
I was highly critical of the talent coming in largely because it didn't fit the type offense Bryce could find success in. NFL is all about players being in places where they fit. What I think he needs. 1. a legit receiving RB 2. a legit quick slot play We went into this season with neither. Young needs those given how he plays. Given his style and strengths. Cohen likely can come in and check one of those. But why are we waiting until in season to nurse one of those types into shape. We went into the season largely with 2 rushers we are pretending are receiving RBs and slow slot plays or bad route runners at that go to.

again, it literally just happened (one presser) and they have given tons of details in comparison to Bryce factoring that. And they probably aren't done looking at Carr's injury. He gave you what they had. you aren't making any point using New Orleans/Carr. They didn't mortgage our short term future and make Zavala the face of the franchise. Nor are multiple front office jobs tied to his success. They can just bench Zavala. No soft benching needed. and again, the most obvious answer is a soft benching. Not an ankle as the primary driver for his shadowing Dalton coast to coast...and up on an ankle every day that they want better ASAP.
-
lol. The injury just happened. And the NO coach has already given vastly more info out on the legitimate and significant injury. These two things are not being handled the same. and again, coaches aren't going to want to tell folks everything. That's not what they do. But Carr is 100% injured and hurt. the fact you are going here is just silly. and yes, I am making assumptions. Educated guesses. That's largely how you have to go through life. What I don't do.....is just championing NFL coaches when they bullshit as the truth tellers. Especially when there are all sorts of weird flags on something. Again, before the season started I had people blowing gaskets declaring Miles Sanders would 100% be a 3rd down featured back because Frank happened to sell some clear bullshit.
-
They don’t talk about it. They get asked questions and say essentially nothing. Carr has a sprained AC joint. NO Coach knows about his QB. There is no mystery. He went to the hospital. They ran a bunch of stuff on it. They feel they got lucky with it being that. And it just happened. Also spoke about how he felt Carr was trending from one day vs other. He will keep talking about it. Because that’s normal in regards to your starting QB. yes, I will view this as a soft benching because that’s what everything indicates. But but but Frank didn’t say that. Yeah, remember when folks were saying Frank said Miles Sanders was going to be a 3 down RB and folks dug into that bologna. Hubbard has been the 3rd down RB every week. Sanders has always sucked at that job. Coaches just say bullshit. And Carolina is clearly bullshitting about Bryce.
