Nah, that cycle featured... DC Ron Rivera having the #1 ranked D unit in the NFL DC McDermott was just fired by Philly (and basically the scapegoat for the disappointing post Jim Johnson era D). McD's stock was down. That what if scenario largely started IMO to emerge once they had both been in Carolina for a couple seasons.

Missouri fans/alumni really weren't pleased during his 1 year there. But I can actually see Wilks being a better HC than DC frankly.

How Many of You Would Actually Want a Trade for a WR
CRA replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't want this team to trade a single pick. I still think the odds are too high Fitt gets fired at the end of this year. I don't want him wasting resources in the off chance Tepper accidently makes a good hire. -
Exactly. The location of our franchise has nothing to do with why we suck. The decision makers in our front office are the reason. That's why good teams are good and bad teams are bad ultimately. Most things aren't very complicated. Why we suck isn't. We have bad decision makers. Starting with Tepper (and the scope here is just NFL football. I give zero poos about how smart he is in other aspects. He is a football idiot).

multiple things can be true: Wilks > Frank We shouldn't of hired Wilks Wilks is just an average NFL DC.

young rich single athletes are still going to prefer the ones in Miami, Atlanta, NY, LA, etc.....because it's about more than that for them. Whose going to be in those Charlotte clubs? Answer is nobody. Whose going to me in the Miami ones? Other high profile people. but none of that is why our team sucks. Guys play for checks ultimately. And the majority of the league isn't a high profile super star single 22 year old. And those guys get drafted.

Houston opening as 3 points favorites in Carolina.

I mean, it still boggles my mind. Given how well documented Sanders issues were over his career in Philly and Philly basically told the league what he was. When a good team says a player is X....never listen to a bad team tell you but he could totally be Y for us.
-
Just a reminder, Miles Sanders was rated as THE WORST receiving RB in the NFL last year by PFF. PFF might be flawed but they never get anything that wrong. Sanders entire career in Philly was well documented inconsistency and unreliability. Some Panthers fans somehow took one line by Frank Wrong and created a fictional RB.

It sucks to be a Panthers fan, it's worse to be a Bills fan....
CRA replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
They have had 4 straight seasons of double digit wins plus postseason action and should make it 5 this year. And they got a stud QB. I’d take that all day over life as a Panther fan. -

Week 7 Other NFL Games thread
CRA replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
Still…. Ron is .466 in Washington with 1 trip to the playoffs Carolina is .303 during that time. Ron went to poo situation to be the face during the shitshow….and still outperformed us. everyone still ends up better than us -
Whatever the record is for most fumbles at the 1/goal is….Clemson has got to of set it this year.

they botched it all. They should of traded him when they got offered a stupid deal by a desperate team......and they should of been self aware to realize this was 100% a rebuild we were entering. BUT they didn't. Burns doesn't deserve stupid money. In the end, I think Burns walks away Julius Peppers style. We get absolutely nothing for him. Burns has been on a loser team his entire career. So I think he will demand stupid money as a means to just walkaway.

well, there is 25% off right now at the Panthers shop online

problem isn't them getting a great WR not mattering. problem is they got Josh McDaniel to be there head coach. Some coaches just ruin stuff. The same time you saw the best WR in the game "decline" under McDaniels......you saw arguably the best slot WR in the game disappear overnight. McDaniels sucks.

I mean, there are several different versions of Brees (like any player). The last version we saw was a noodle arm that couldn't go downfield. But that was last leg Brees. Overall, Brees wasn't actually a conversative check down QB. He would be risky with the ball downfield. All good QBs are willing to be.

by week 6 in his 3rd season.... Jeff Otah suited up for 76% of his games for us. Horn has suited up for 42% of his game for us. Reality is, to date, we probably shouldn't even call him Otah 2.0 (which I have been). Otah was wildly more available than Horn to date. Even if Horn came back after the bye and suited up for every game the rest of the season, Otah would have been more available through 3 years. And Otah IMO was proven more dominant when on the field because he proved his dominance IMO against tougher competition than Horn has seen in his little time.
