I'm only good with it if we went WR in round 2 too though.
-
USC has burned us one too many times with WRs.
-
Context, you were ranting about Shipley being “demoted” to somehow support your lack of talent claim. Mafah is a beast. That’s why they had almost identical touches. Either one would have likely been statistically the best RB in the ACC if the other didn’t exist. and like I said, Clemson could of said screw trying to develop Cade and likely come close to going undefeated just playing D and running. That’s talent, that’s also because of the OL too. Cade and DJU both supplied below average ACC QB play and it makes everyone on the OL look bad. And that type play isn’t going to help the young talented WRs either
-
Mafah is you know, actually good and talented too. The whole talent thing you claim Clemson didn't have on O. If Shipley didn't exist, Mafah would have most likely owned the title of best RB in the ACC last year because Shipley got identical touches as Mafah. And then you can reverse that and say the same about Shipley. I mean, you are essentially saying Clemson isn't that talented at RB because they got too much talent.

You don't know much about Clemson if you say they had talent last year. That was your opening post to the Clemson talk

Clemson's has lacked QB play since Trevor left. That's the story on Clemson. They haven't even been getting even average ACC level play at the spot. If they had, they would have cruised to the college playoff evey year. If QB is off the table, no team in the ACC is close to Clemson in terms of talent they fill their rosters with. Clemson overall had more offensive talent around their QB than Duke. Clemson just hasn't had QB play. They went from best in the nation play, to sub par ACC caliber play. That drastically impacts things. Shipley/Mafah was the best backfield duo in the ACC. In all honestly, Clemson could of come close to being undefeated in the ACC if they just gave up on their QB and run almost every snap, playing D. Clemson had tons of young crazy talent at WR that was a combo of young and hurt.....with a QB that can't take advantage of any of it.
-
Clemson's biggest problem at WR is health and the inability to keep guys on the field to develop. And of course, QB play factors there.
-
Bruh. Clemson has an absurd roster vs the rest of the ACC.....it just hasn't had the QB play paired with young WRs. That's the only reason they have lost games the last 3 years. To say Clemson doesn't have talent is just not knowing Clemson. That roster top to bottom is built different than everyone else in the ACC. If they managed to get just average ACC level QB play the last several years.....they would have remained in the college playoff because their roster ain't built like other ACC programs. Clemson's D is straight-up loaded with talent. They have 5 players from the D alone going in this year's draft. 7 total. ....and those dudes don't even represent the best players from last year's D. Heck if Carter opted not to go back to Clemson, they would have had 2 first rounders from that D in this draft class.

Jared Allen? Lucas a was a good add until he was a bad add. But to throw another name in your camp, MeShawn Johnson didn't work out for us either.
-
wonder what the Vegas odds would be on which starting DB is out for the year first.
-
agree. and a HUGE part of success for dudes is about fit/team. Coleman IMO doesn't fit with where the 2024 Panthers are.

Coleman screams Dave Gettlemen logic to me. I'd hate to see that at 33.

Nicole Tepper on the proudest moment since owning the team….
CRA replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
KC puts grass down for football season for their players. They don't use concerts as a reason they can't. I'd argue KC just has a higher bar and therefore gets rated more harshly. They have made the postseason in 9 of the last 10 seasons. -
Are we low-key tanking? Donnelly thinks we're half-tanking.

Panthers have been half tanking since Tepper arrived. Don’t see how this is a hot take.- 112 replies

Basically, if the Tepper Panthers were an early 2000 singer….you would get Uncle Kracker. -
I think if we had our #1 overall pick, the Bryce Young experiment would have basically been Clausen 2.0 and we moved on taking one of these dudes. And that's all he got. Stays on the roster and probably had a better shot at re-emerging than Clausen did though.
-
if Bryce Young leads us to the #1 overall pick in year one and in year 2 leads us back to the top 3......you then replace Bryce Young.
-
in fairness, Clemson has 4 members of their defensive front going in this draft.....and you could argue those 4 dudes don't even represent the best of that front. I mean, when Clemson's front came to play, it was one of the best in nation. That's a stacked D up front in terms of talent.
-
in fairness, Kenny Chesney probably is more entertaining than a Carolina Panther game. And I hate Kenny Chesney/country music.

Happy Meal might be the most sensible thing at McD if you think about it. Cheaper than adult meals (which are the price of sit down restaurant at this point) and is less bad food you are putting into your body vs a bigger adult meal.

I'd have gone with soccer over the dumb concerts. I mean, at least prioritize sports given that's the primary thing you are supposed to be. -
and each draft is it's own thing. It's WR heavy.....and then on top of it, the first round is going to have more QBs likely going than average. Also a good OL draft. So talent wise. Some of these WRs going at the end of round 1 would be going higher if this was another draft class they were coming in with.

I would say in the last half decade....we have been able to sign multiple defensive players that were better at their jobs than Burns is at his. Dumping huge money into Brian Burns just doesn't make sense. We can find players on defense. Can we find a Burns clone? Probably not. Would anyone actually seek a clone an edge player though if you are looking for one? Goal is to build a great overall team. I just don't see how Burns given his assumed price tag makes any sense.

3-5 wins. That's what I see. Any team can largely stumble into that realm pending how the ball bounces.

looks like a kid that won a chance to meet a real NFL player. I mean, visually that is horrible. Like Bill Parcell said, kid better walk on water. As in, you shouldn't draft that.
