  1. I've been saying it since last season when we picked Bryce. If Bryce is your QB, you need a legit receiving RB in your RB committee. That was a big part of his success in college. Our new HC did it a lot in Tampa. You can throw to Hubbard. But Hubbard isn't a receiving RB. And Sanders has been horrific at it in his career. And the short pass game (RB included) is part of the modern day run game.
  2. probably somewhat similar to a Derrick Brown of the OG world. He isn't a household name but has been playing like one of the better dudes in the league. 62 guaranteed is a lot though. But Carolina is only getting dawgs if they overpay at this stage.
  3. I mean, they still can. They just didn't last year. I think the draft and FA will be telling. You go to alter the skill talent around Bryce to actually be all in on him.
  4. The Panther way. Most orgs tank to get a #1 overall QB type player Panthers get the the #1 overall QB and then tank
  5. Baker got more playoff wins than both of them combined in less time in the league though. I'd put Baker in sort of a different tier. I think his rollercoaster play allows a team to reach a technically reach a higher level than the other two.
  6. well, in fairness, we haven't built anything around Young's perceived strengths. Last year was just random parts and this year we haven't done anything yet.
  7. if we are only retaining dogs.....Derrick Brown and Luvu will be playing 2 vs 11 and both ways all game.
  8. I'd say he is in the running for #2 nobody messing with the GOAT. Sam Bradford.
  9. I mean, we just cut Hurst and Bell.....both carrying 10 mill dead cap. I would have preferred to keep one of them (anyone can pick) and cut Miles Sanders if we are cool w/ those dead cap hits.
  10. we also have to get a functional offense up and running. That's basically what 2024 has to be about. I hope Dan has a better plan after cutting Bozeman than the 2024 draft.
  11. I mean, that's sort of a weird place marker. They have had 2 guys going over 1000 yards multiple seasons. So if he had hit 1100 it would be different? I mean, he likely had that if he played all 17 games in 2 of his seasons. We also have seen him minus Burrow and seen him without Chase. Higgins and others like him (say a Waddle) aren't lesser just because someone better happens to be on the team. Higgins IMO is a DJ Moore tier WR. My personal preference is for every draft pick to be an offensive skill player and go back to back WR with the first two.... and leave FA to the OL.
  12. Dan Morgan taking the Mr. Not In On Any Deal approach thus far.
  13. sort of wished they hadn't cut Bozeman unless they 100% had someone they knew they were about to sign.
  14. I mean, in the world where DJ Moore isn't a #1.....yeah, Higgins is average. Higgins IMO is more like a Mushin Muhammad tier WR. He can do it all a pretty high level. He just lacks being elite in one area.
  15. The Teppers and Bozemans hosted a Thanksgiving Bash (panthers.com) I mean, charity is charity. But I did find it odd Bozeman was the player face of it all.
  16. Their foundations did work together for the Thanksgiving stuff and all that. Got to think Bozeman did have some Tepper time if you wanted to be conspiracy minded.
  17. maybe... but if pass rushers are king....they hit FA and are available via trade much more often than you would think.
  18. not sure I love that analogy. Tee Higgins is a solid all around WR. He just lacks that special quality that puts him over into that elite tier. Burns isn't a solid all around DE
  19. If Burns is on this team and Luvu isn't this year.....go ahead and fire Morgan.
  20. that stinks. But all things being equal....we are going to have to overpay for needs if they have options. Jags are a more sensible landing spot vs us.
  21. I mean Bozeman is better than a rookie C in 2024. So are plenty of others. Might just have to rent a C for a season If Bryce wasn’t our QB I’d be all for it…. but Bryce had to too rough last year. New O. Too many others struggling on the OL. Rookie C has too high of odds of making it all worse in 2024
  22. That would still be where I put by money in FA. Draft would be all offensive skill positions. not only has Bryce struggled on his own. Now he gets another new offense. Which is never a good thing. And you just flat out go too many others on the OL struggling to learn right now.
  23. Eh, it’s also just a really good WR draft. Lot of mocks have one of the Texas kids there at 33…..and in a less great WR draft that kid wouldn’t go 33rd. He would go higher. I’d rather the Panther dip into FA for OL help. The LAST thing Bryce Young needs is a rookie C trying to figure it out while he is still attempting to. Heck, we got enough already on the line for Bryce trying to figure it out like his LT
  24. Dang, I could be a really good NFL TE too….if….
  25. Dalton isn’t checking either key box though Box A - young QB that potentially could surprise you Box B - vet that is mentoring your young QB to have success Box C - win now team and a vet who could allow you to still potentially make a run even if your starter goes down He is supposed to be B. But given every highly praised top tier rookie QB he has been the vet in the room for has been a disaster…..I don’t see it worth guessing he is bringing a lot to aid them. I just don’t love him as our backup.
