  1. I mean, back when we actually drafted decent (I mean, people bash Hurney but his drafts were decent vs the field).....we still went to 2 Super Bowls largely off his picks. To win a championship requires luck. Lot of athletes talk about that. It's not just being good. We got unlucky in twice in the Super Bowl. But we built 2 different Super Bowl teams. We have sucked drafting lately. It's been about 1 legit player per draft. It doesn't have to be that way. We proved that before. But yeah, I have little doubt in the Tepper era we can pull much off......outside of just blind luck.
  2. Beason, Kalil, Charles Johnson plus a Rosario Dawson. Morgan, Jenkins, Smitty Peppers, Foster, Spoon Several with 2. Luke and Norman, KK and Star, Williams and Anderson, Stew and Otah Recently we have sucked. But we used to get multiple legit starters in drafts
  3. In a Bryce Young O….its doubtful your outside WR will really be your #1.
  4. You talking starters in terms of rookie season or overall? I mean we have had drafts with multiple pro bowlers for us and landing 3 or 4 legit starters for us. Not the norm but it’s happened a time or two
  5. Leggette probably has one to the top ST resumes of the WRs. He did KR. So the smoke still is there with him Worthy and Coleman were pretty good at PR last year. They both had 70+ PR TDs. Probably some more. Those are the 3 that stand out for me
  6. well, I don’t think it is either….i think need shapes the board. And if needs shapes it, BPA isn’t really a clear thing. Panthers definitely last year let need and even draft runs overly dictate things IMO and influence them
  7. NFL teams do it all the time. We know that. Players just spill the beans AFTER the draft about those convos. Think Leggette just got ahead of himself.
  8. I think we should draft talent that hopefully can see the field and help this year. That’s WR, rec RB and TE. A rookie C likely only sees the field if things go bad….
  9. I will say this, you see CJ a lot on podcast and stuff like that this offseason ….he eats and breaths football and carries himself with that QB alpha attitude. Real student of the game and players. Instantly trying to build with new guys they sign. He also is annoyingly loyal to his guys on the podcasts. Meanwhile, Panthers are spinning Bryce being by himself, binging TV and wanting nothing to do with football as good. I mean, I still think Bryce can reach a decent level of success in the right spot. The org will make or break Bryce.….but it’s get hard to see how this team went in the direction they went given the choices. Would to have loved to of seen how they solved that internal discussion/debate they were having on the 2.
  10. Is there any evidence Dalton is actually a good vet to have around young QB? I mean just because you were a decent starter doesn’t make you an ideal vet mentor. I still think we needed to change things up more given what a trainwreck last season was
  11. I mean, Bryce’s arm is what it is. I don’t see us solving anything by telling him he needs to throw with more oomph. You can’t really coach him into much more of a stronger arm. You aren’t to solve some of his limitations in traditional pocket either. we need a good creative scheme with actual playmakers….and frankly for him to be a dink and dunk PG. That’s his game. Accept what you drafted. Not saying he can’t take a shot here and there but that’s not what he is.
  12. I doubt you can change that much in a handful of weeks. Bryce is largely what he is going to be I would think. Especially, when it comes to play breaking down instincts that got him to the NFL. Think you fix Bryce by giving him a good scheme with open playmakers to go to dish to. He doesn’t have the tools to play in a mess.
  13. relax, CJ Stroud has no idea what happened in the last season of Stranger Things. Bryce was binging Netflix. He probably was figuring out whatever magical powers that bald headed girl has. Point guard. Dog. Leader. Buzzwords.
  14. i'm just ready for the draft. tired of the this is who we should draft threads looking forward to the WTF are you doing threads. or the check out this highlight I just found of this player I never heard of before we just drafted, that is 100% going to be Steve Smith part deux or Luke Kuechly reborn. Sprinkle in some I'm done with this team or call me crazy but I think we can the make the playoffs, you got to think of the division we are in ones.
  15. we need pass catchers that actually fit what Bryce Young is going to do with the ball in an offense that fits him. and we have glaring holes all over the roster in that regard. Not just at WR. and just about the entire cast around him essentially expires after this season. year 1 - new to NFL year 2 - new O, new OC, new HC year 3 if things go great - entirely new skill players(but Mingo) most likely if things go well for Bryce I've never run a NFL team, but that doesn't seem what you should be doing w/ a dude you just drafted #1 overall.
  16. Leggette just seems like a straight up country kid and a good dude. Think a man just straight up said ABC and he we was like awesome. I mean, many of these are just straight kids and think like kids. He probably not even thinking about draft gamesmanship of different front offices and all that. We have seen in the past drafts after the fact a lot of these kids 100% take what these teams tell them as the truth. Because there have been a lot of dudes that have hung onto it not playing out like promised. Local boy. Went to his local college. Grinded. Local NFL team then says they are going to draft him. I get him being excited.
  17. I think Canales probably just straight up told Leggette that. That happens all the time. Canales just doing what literally every coach would be forced to do if a player right before the draft went to the media and said it. That, almost never happens.
  18. positionally he sort of his the first 3 picks though. QB, WR, Edge is what we did.
  19. ISM is just a body. We were his 3rd team in 3 years and he hasn't done anything. basically, it's Theilen, Johnson, and Mingo. Everyone else could go and it just be business. I mean, technically we got 8 WRs under contact I think right now. I guess there is a question on David Moore, I'm not sure if all the info is up on the salary sites. But it looks like they could even cut if they wanted to. It doesn't look like he has any guaranteed money.
  20. yeah, all I know is occasionally I guess the first round pick right for us. Outside of that, I might of guessed 2 out of hundred other picks. my surprise guess at this point, is Morgan shows his personal touch in this draft and valuing a position in way we didn't think of. So my guess on that is a DT is going to pop up at a spot no one saw coming. Everyone talking Edge, LB, and CB. They always seem to surprise us somewhere.
  21. well, we know generally.....we are going to end up missing on most of the guys we draft in reality. Draft history says that. Ours certainly does. That's why I like the WR double dip in a great WR draft class. Increases your odds of hitting on something that eventually works out. and we don't have a first day pick. as he said, day 2 and day 3 is often WR gold. I still think top of round 2 is just a sweet spot for WR. I think those hit rates are skewed. C has a good first round hit rate.....because you rarely see any C ever drafted in the first round because of how the league values it. So it's almost can't miss super studs twisting folks arms to have to take them.
  22. I echo this, but I'm fine mixing up the order outside the top 2. but I think overall, the Panthers draft will end up throwing us a bit of a curve ball somewhere. I think they always do that in the end. So I'm out here stanning hard for my boy Will Shipley, the poor man's CMC Bryce so desperately needs.....they end up going DT. I don't think any of the mocks we are doing here really includes fans going DT. Instead of Shipley breaking the anti-Clemson streak it will be something like DT Ruke Orhorhora. Panthers had visits with a couple DTs too. I believe Ruke was one. The signature of the Morgan era was the Panthers being good on the DL. Morgan could value line play way more than we think.
