  1. I think there is enough to show the team sort of accepted they were moving on.....but then the unpredictable just happened. Morgan basically saying the only thing he can say at this point. but yeah, I think they stumbled upon the Bryce redemption more than anything. If Dalton played okay and stayed healthy...Bryce might of got a token game at the end (which is what you generally see around the league). I'm definitely not buying were are suddenly a smart and well run team. Part of 1 seasons is going to sale me on that when you got so much backing the opposite under Tepper. Including different windows where we falsely assumed we were no longer a poorly run org.
  2. I think that's debatable if that was really the plan going into this year. I mean, they benched him a mere 2 games into the season. That doesn't scream they were really trying to invest a lot of time into figuring it out with him. Injury brought him back to the table. And I think we choose to remember the past a little different. I mean, if you go back in time all the tea leaf reading around here was Canales was done with him and never really wanted him. as far as Canales at the podium? Saying of course we were going to try to get another look at him. If Dalton played well and stayed healthy? I think reasonably that might of meant to give him a game or so at the end. I mean, I just refuse to believe we are now smartly run because they sort stumbled into a Young redemption at the end of the season. I think the team had moved on until Andy's injury re-opened the door. From what we know of all his endeavors, nothing about Tepper entities says they are well run. I'm not falling for that because of a couple weeks of football. I mean we were finally a big boy and smart run team heading into the Frank Reich era too lol.
  3. that seems like the smartest play. Because you know you essentially are going to get the Sanders family along w/ the QB.
  4. I'm still not buying that. The whole fool me once thing. Really the whole sales job of us now being a stable and competent is basically half of a season. and do we really have a plan? Sure seems like they had a plan this year. And Bryce forced them to go to a plan B for the near future when he got a chance.
  5. I think Jimmy G and Marcus actually would be good fits. Think they both really hit that true vet checkmark with some real NFL knowledge.
  6. yeah, Canales nor Bryce really offer what that show wants. We would have to be bringing a lot to the table given we are a small market team. We just don't have the personalities. XL just ain't enough
  7. 100% true. 89 had the body of a slot WR. But there are still WRs who just naturally fit in the slot vs the outside and there is a pretty stark difference in performance. Welker is a good example of that IMO.
  8. I think the only real difference in KB and XL's rookie seasons.....was KB got more targets.
  9. I’m still sticking with what the first 16 games said vs giving the last game insane weight. I still would like Canales to hire an OC to call plays and not pull double duty. That Falcons game was just too weird it in terms of them not getting any pressure at all in that game…everything going to come up Milhouse! when there is that little pressure in the NFL.
  10. I hope they don’t redo Miles Sanders deal. I’d rather add youth and a more complimentary back to Hubbard.
  11. You don't have to go to Minny. Carolina Teddy. 308 total yards, 70% completion, 3 TDs. 329 total yards, 73% completion, 3 TDs. he also had a couple 300 total yard games with a couple TDs. So I would say easily, Teddy managed a game half as good
  12. on a largely unrelated note, I feel that has faded of late. Not a Carolina inspired thing but just overall. I think all the teams are lacking the type dudes that really make you feel that. Really need some incident or a surge of a holes being added to the south lol.
  13. Saying I think some people are going TOO FAR on some of the Bryce talk isn't being contrarian for the sake of it. Nor will saying people are now going to TOO FAR the other direction if he makes them bad next year if he comes out the first several games looking more like Giants Bryce than the season finale Bryce I just say what I think. But yeah, if I think Frank Reich is a bad hire I say it. Which I did. That's not a contrarian position. But I'm then not going to scapegoat Frank for every problem under the sun when everyone turns on him for all our problems. I just talk football how I see it. I give zero poos about anyone agreeing.
  14. I really don't have any issue w/ a stance like that. I think he was damn good vs what he was more so than just damn good but that's really just squabbling.
  15. If I were to play the odds and factor in the past around here….I’m deemed a Bryce hater today. Lot of the same folks will call me a Bryce apologist next year when they swing the other way when he hits a stretch of not meeting their expectations. These dances have been danced.
  16. The great game count is 1 on the career got to hold him to a reasonable standard vs his peers. Which means all these other games can t just be excuses of how they really should be viewed as better. His play vs that pressure was part of the equation of why it unfolded like it did
  17. I would. I mean he was flat out bad in 2 of the last 4. He wasn’t good directly after the benching. So it’s still a very cherry picked window defining him and that’s because inconsistent play (which he should be). Bryce also is hovering around 60% which was good in the prior era, not this one….and was 2nd in the NFL in poor throw % behind Anthony Richardson. So we should celebrate his improvement and be glad we have a plan that makes sense for next year. I’m just not agreeing with riding the wave as far as some. We know how that works most of the time the NFL when the backing is actually there for some of the talk
  18. Does the player matter when it was essentially a convo about it being unrealistic to expect several really good games over a long stretch of starts? its clearly not made up. Its game logs from a handful of starts in a rookie season. Which was basically a host of games like yesterday from a QB in just part of a season. Cherry picking and finding good games is what you can do for everyone that eventually plays a lot. We could add that dude this offseason if we wanted. Any team could. point is not to get too carried away yet. He is still a very inconsistent young player
  19. Point is, it's not far fetched lunacy to expect young QBs that play to give you some big time games over the course of time if they get lot of opportunity. Good QBs do it. Middle of the road QBs do it. Even bad QBs eventually have big games if given enough opportunity. all the games ultimately matter when you are evaluating a QB. Team wanted that guy posted above to be THE guy. I mean, if you cherry pick his young start vs Bryce's young start....he is a GOAT. Doing what Bryce did Sunday over and over in a smaller window.
  20. 352 pass yards (67%) , 5 pass TDs 332 pass yards (68%), 4 pass TDs 308 pass yards (65%), 4 pass TDs 336 pass yards (63%), 4 total TDs pass TDs I mean, that's a dude that started 12 games his rookie year.
  21. maybe keep Tremble because Ian should be gone and he is a much better blocker/compliment to Saunders. as for the rest, I'm cool just moving on from everyone. I mean, I'd take JJ back but at 39 next year you gotta think he might just call it a career. He getting to that window where he really increases the likelyhood of getting hurt out there.
  22. GM still surviving is pretty insane. He pre-dates Urban.
  23. Broke down Cam went to New England and won more games with a much worse team than the one that existed in Carolina. Cam was broken down. But that's not why they disregarded him. They disregarded him because an incompetent head coach couldn't function with a real football player in house that had command of things. Cam wouldn't of waited to the end of the season to as politely as possible say we weren't being a real NFL team like Teddy did. And the funniest part, they ended up bringing Cam back in the end to temporarily save jobs and install the most basic things in house that never were done. I mean that is not an example of being right. Hell, Rhule all but confirmed it was the wrong call. Learning basics from Cam he could of learned at the jump instead of when he became a dead man walking.
