You said those impressive defensive numbers translated to us winning handily. Winning handily in the NFL IMO is a beatdown.....you don't loke the wording fine. There stats don't translate to our offense rolling to an easy win.....which you brought up Those were your numbers that indicated a handily beating....now you are claiming they mean nothing and points is all that should be looked at when it was pointed out how good those numbers really were. But I agree points matter, yards don't. The fact there offense has been a joke actually means there D likely is even better than it is on paper. And I said this will be a field position game.....who wins that will get the points. Neither team should be rolling offensively IMO. We have a better offense. Which helped our D. Too early to claim we are better defensively.....AZ is talented and proven it on D

Cam definitely needs to run....hopefully Shula sees getting away from that to fit some Gettlemen dream isn't the way. Cam should have a designed run on the first series of every game. He just seems to get in a comfort zone when he is doing it. Gross spoke on this before last year.

Win handily based on what they are giving up? That doesn't jive. That is the 2nd best in in ypr allowed in the NFL and a respectable 13th in ypp. that is good D...not an indicator of a beatdown. Field position and turnovers will be huge this week IMO

The Giants, yeah... The rest, we didn't really impact there rankings I think we can run enough to keep the play action respected.....which is what we have done in competitive games this year

Yep, they are a big part iof why there opponents don't rank well in the rush rankings despite good rush games against other teams. We also have played some weaker rush D's which aids our rankings. A Seattle type gameplan IMO wins it. If the D shows up. We don't want to give there DBs too many shots to make plays IMO

If AZ hasn't proven to have a good rush D.....we haven't proven to have a good rush attack. I see our rush getting bottled up or contained. Running for the sake of running to keep the play action respected IMO. Defense IMO will need to win this game. AZ likely saying the same. Tougher game IMO than most are expecting

Panthers also have faced the 27th, 28th and 18th rush defenses. like most weeks, we go in confident or worried about something and it gets flipped on its head. This would be a potential area to watch for.

They have some playmakers in the secondary.....I think we need a somewhat conservative offense approach unless forced to open it up. Can't allow there one strength to have a big impact.

Carolina Panthers Deangelo Williams Hitting His Stride
CRA replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
He won't remain the featured guy when people get healthy.....that defies logic. It will be a committee -

I said we need to use all RBs when healthy.....YOU are the one breaking down what I think the split should be....not me. How does it work. Cam needs his.... Tolbert get his short yardage. That leaves 3 sharing work in between the 20s. No one should get tons of work. Barner needs to be sprinkled in. So does Stewart. As will Williams. And as of right now, other backfields are producing better than our backfield. When we get healthy we can be better. Cam always makes them look better on a stat sheet (like the #2 rush attack). HOU for example, there RBs 3 weeks in are much more productive.....but people will claim Carolina's RBs are running better. When we have Williams, Stewart, Barner and Tolbert..... And Cam. We can be overall great. We are effective right now. We can be better.. -

Yeah, um....that is just false. Williams was our only option in-between the 20s....so yeah, he gets the work. He has run well doing what he does And yeah, our ground attack has been okay. Nothing special. It has been consistent....which is good. If we get healthy it should get better -

Tolbert won't be effected....he is going to get his goal work and short yardage. Williams is not Frank Gore. Gore is better What act? Saying we need to use all are RBs when they are healthy? LOL. We will need to....they all bring something different -

Williams is running well.....he isn't doing 2008 type junk. To say other RBs shouldn't see the field when healthy is silly. Especially ones that have different roles/abilities. Problem with the DWill fan club....is they take matter of fact comments as DWill hate -

B/c you can get better than what we are.....why settle for okay. -

Well we need to give Williams, Barner, Tolbert and Stewart work when they return....and Cam needs to continue to run more. Best rushing on Sunday wasnt DWill it was Newton. Hopefully Barner can start doing a little something soon....I think once he starts getting on the field people will see there is a difference in burst and explosiveness -

Can't argue that.... With Stewart's injury concerns (and contract) he could be the first part we axe....we might hopefully end up with Williams playing a Fred Taylor role here. Maybe Barner can be his understudy like MJD was .....the young talented kid next season. -

If I take a day off...no one would be overhyping someone when I returned? I'll take that one if you can make it so. Deal. Don't let me down bud! -

You are still asking Stewart to rush for 100+ a game, and Williams 30-60 a game. When this offense is explosive and rolling.....Cam is heavily involved. We don't have the OL nor should our offense be dictated to trying to obtain that. Maybe if Cam got hurt..... in 2009 Double Trouble was our best and really only chance for success.....that isn't the ace anymore -

CRA replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
I am not complaint about him....he is doing a good job and Shula is running him smarter. Knowing what the can't do.... I just fail to see the need to suddenly start claiming he is a top RB in the NFL.....which he isn't anymore -

CRA replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
2 1000 yard rusher isn't realistic. Stewart would have to avg 100+ a game when he returns Williams probably would still need to put up 30-60 a game in addition Offense works when Cam is Cam. That means no sitting in a pocket and just handing it off....but him running and him throwing. 2 1000 yard rushers occurred when our QB play stunk and we tried to hide him. That feat isn't a good sign overall for our offense -

CRA replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Disagree. He is being used wisely. He isn't as effective as any RB in the league.....which is why other RBs have more than just rush yards. They have rush TDs, they have receiving yards, they have rec TDs. Williams isn't what he was. They are using him MUCH wiser than Chud did. Which is good -

Yep, when Barner's toenail grows in and he gets on the field.....people will see burst. Young blood at work. Williams is running better than last year. He is picking up 2-3 or so consistently instead of going down at the line. Makes a difference vs the guy we saw last year -

He is expensive and old. He is running well....but that hurts his future odds here As far as fumbling goes...he isn't the same never fumble guy he was from rookie to peaking 2008 guy. He drops it about in pace with any RB now.
