Carolina Panthers Deangelo Williams Hitting His Stride
CRA replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well we need to give Williams, Barner, Tolbert and Stewart work when they return....and Cam needs to continue to run more. Best rushing on Sunday wasnt DWill it was Newton. Hopefully Barner can start doing a little something soon....I think once he starts getting on the field people will see there is a difference in burst and explosiveness -

Can't argue that.... With Stewart's injury concerns (and contract) he could be the first part we axe....we might hopefully end up with Williams playing a Fred Taylor role here. Maybe Barner can be his understudy like MJD was .....the young talented kid next season. -

If I take a day off...no one would be overhyping someone when I returned? I'll take that one if you can make it so. Deal. Don't let me down bud! -

You are still asking Stewart to rush for 100+ a game, and Williams 30-60 a game. When this offense is explosive and rolling.....Cam is heavily involved. We don't have the OL nor should our offense be dictated to trying to obtain that. Maybe if Cam got hurt..... in 2009 Double Trouble was our best and really only chance for success.....that isn't the ace anymore -

I am not complaint about him....he is doing a good job and Shula is running him smarter. Knowing what the can't do.... I just fail to see the need to suddenly start claiming he is a top RB in the NFL.....which he isn't anymore -

2 1000 yard rusher isn't realistic. Stewart would have to avg 100+ a game when he returns Williams probably would still need to put up 30-60 a game in addition Offense works when Cam is Cam. That means no sitting in a pocket and just handing it off....but him running and him throwing. 2 1000 yard rushers occurred when our QB play stunk and we tried to hide him. That feat isn't a good sign overall for our offense -

Disagree. He is being used wisely. He isn't as effective as any RB in the league.....which is why other RBs have more than just rush yards. They have rush TDs, they have receiving yards, they have rec TDs. Williams isn't what he was. They are using him MUCH wiser than Chud did. Which is good -

Yep, when Barner's toenail grows in and he gets on the field.....people will see burst. Young blood at work. Williams is running better than last year. He is picking up 2-3 or so consistently instead of going down at the line. Makes a difference vs the guy we saw last year -

He is expensive and old. He is running well....but that hurts his future odds here As far as fumbling goes...he isn't the same never fumble guy he was from rookie to peaking 2008 guy. He drops it about in pace with any RB now. -

I think the notion is....if you build your team right you don't need to spent tons of money on your backfield. -
lol... We have been "rebuilding" since 2010. I hate to break it to everyone but we aren't rebuilding....we are mismanaged and suck. if our GM would have been on board, our HC been allowed to actually go hire an OC and we merely signed a handful of average players to upgrade some horrific holes....we would be legit. Mismanaged.
-
More of what your offensive scheme is....EJ dinks and dunks. It limits what a pass rushing front 4 does.
-
Can't give them a D-.....they practically set our O up for easy points. The O did nothing. If the O did their job people would be giving this D a higher grade
-
6 pts was the D. They offense did nothing despite them setting them up. Offense scored 17
-
Best player on the team....stepping up
-
Still has Brady....who IMO is the GOAT. Better than Montana.
-
Anderson would be on IR after a series behind this OL
-
If we don't get 7....I will join the fire RR bandwagon for wasting a TO
-
They almost beat NE. There D isn't bad.
-
Need 7 with this secondary. Can't settle for 3
-
If Godfrey ends up being fine..... The panther vets are simply faking injury once they know they are setting up a 3rd down attempt to get set IMO
-
Might of been a vet move.....go down and fake and give your D extra time for the 3rd down attempted stop
-
Norman stinks. Looks just like the guy who Cutler abused last year. Hope he is okay and benched for some guy in the stands. Even EJ Manuel knows he is the guy to pick on.....you gotta have a lot of bad tape out there for that
-
Newton is on pace for 50 pass attempts and 764 lobs downfield. Is the Shula should learn to throw downfield not entertained?! ! Maybe next week you can be happy with an efficient week 1 O that simply didn't touch the ball that much
-
Offense and coaching are less of an issue than dumb plays (turnovers and penalties). Offense IMO showed promise. Cam was efficient. Showed patience he often lacks. Williams ran well despite very average run blocking. Once Seattle isn't lined up across from us the deep ball returns. I feel fine with our O as of now. Feel fine with everything on D outside of CB. I'd like some tweaks but it is what is in terms of players. RR had made mistakes....but people now blame him for too much.
