DJ Moore still had more yards than Robbie (in Robbie's career best season) despite Robbie having more targets. He averaged almost 7 more yards per touch than Robbie too. I don't get how DJ posting back to back 1100+ seasons with bad QB play is "hitting or showing his ceiling". Seems to me that would be him more establishing what his floor is. Any offense. Bad QB play. He can still do X at a minimum. Robbie Anderson's best career season came in year 5. And that was only better than DJ's rookie season. And that is because DJ is a better and more diverse player overall. And frankly, even when you listen to Anderson talk about DJ....he alludes to DJ being the dude here too. If DJ showboated, talked trash and got angry like 89 and all the play was the same....the talk about him would be totally different IMO.

DJ with weak QB play the past 2 seasons, is the only player in the NFL to post consecutive 1100+ yard seasons. Those two seasons are coming off his rookie year where he lead all NFL WRs in yards after contact.
-
I was just alluding to the fact that the bust number they assigned factors in a lot....and a lot of why his number was what it was....wasn't an evaluation of his actual QB play. QB with only 2 years total positional experience + Top 5 selection was part of their math. So he gets a high bust rate. On that alone. No matter how he plays and looks. Because I can't name a single top 5 QB drafted in recent decades that compares.
-
me too, given DJ is clearly a much better overall WR. Not trying to diss Robby. Robby does some things better than anyone else on the roster. But DJ is the total package. And gets no national respect.

well, that QBASE IMO wasn't based much on play/potential but more simply the math of he played QB for 2 years in college. And that sums up his QB resume. Can't say that about basically anyone else. Raw. The last team that needed to draft Darnold was the NYJ. Darnold was always doomed in NY. NFL success, especially QB success, is largely coaching/stability and fit IMO. Especially early on. The team you land with....has a lot to do with the outcome IMO.
-
but I'd argue it as a mix. It isn't just a surrounding cast argument. I think it is that aspect....coupled with his age and coaching. So it takes all 3 of those together to be like....yeah, we should kick the tires on Sam in Carolina. Joe Brady is going to put him in good spots with good weapons. We will just have to see how Sam looks in that scenario. Darnold was pretty raw coming to NY. Talented but raw. He needed a friendly entry to the NFL.
-
Because Winston was given the opportunity to play with a legit and deep supporting cast on offense. For years. And years. Sam has never been in a position to succeed. Grow. Or show what he really has. Sam pulled off 7-9 in a poo sandwich at 22. I'd like to see Sam with good weapons and coaching. We have already seen Winston in that scenario. For years.

No team is going to trade for Teddy when they know we are going to cut him.
-
He will be 30 this year. I'd rather just draft a RB in the later rounds.
-
yeah, I'm not arguing against the importance of it. But there generally are like 5 or so elite QBs in the NFL at any given time IMO. So you gotta to be able to compete while you search.
-
I mean, obviously, you need a QB. But you don't need Peyton Manning. An Eli can take you to the promised land. Brady IMO should just be removed from all conversations and points made. He skews everything.
-
IMO, 3 of the last 4 Super Bowls featured a Jake-ish QB. Once you get to the game, it's just a crapshoot IMO. I personally don't view Foles, Goff, JImmy G as better players than Jake.

How would Mayfield, Murray, or Allen have faired with the Jets?
CRA replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tom Brady would have sucked that alone doesn’t mean Sam will be good outside of NY but... -
Team record difference aside, Eli Manning was trash. Only QB in NFL history to post comparable QBR numbers to Darnold his first 3 seasons. but was Eli ever good or just lucky in big moments. There is that
-
I don’t think it is given Joe Brady is a lock for a HC just because he adds one more good year to the resume. Still a pretty light NFL resume for a HC gig

Word on which one we prefer?

To @Verge’s credit, she had Darnold on our radar as someone we would want depending how things went. sounds like post 49ers trade that got speed up and more expensive. Sounds like we negotiated the picks for a bit. I would like to know if QB is still in play and not off the table come draft like the GM said
