  1. Yeah, I know Teddy's shortcomings. It is why I didn't want him and wasn't excited about him. I was the dude lobbying for PJ Walker all season. I also think Teddy came off bad. Thought he came off bad while here. He never took stuff on the chin like a Cam Newton did and still does. It's why Belichick brought Cam back. All that said.... I still think he brought up something noteworthy about Joe Brady in year 1 as an OC. I would hope in year 2 the practice reps amp up in that department. We do sound light there. And we definitely looked weak there.
  2. I think TB came off bad. I don't really blame him that much. I don't think we have handled departures well under Tepper. but I do think Joe Brady has a lot of room to grow...despite already being impressive. And maybe his hands were tied. Not a normal offseason. No preseason. Maybe it was a choice he knowingly made that they were better off focusing more time on getting the overall offense down in such a weird year.
  3. But in fairness, he didn't say they never practiced it. Just that it was noteworthy how little they devoted to it vs elsewhere in the NFL. 2 minute, redzone and short yardage were areas from watching that stood out as problems for an offense that overall was schemed pretty dang well.
  4. So...we will just ignore the fact other players had to pick their jaws off the floor when they heard our schedule and time dedicated to the 2 minute/redzone? Teddy is definitely trying to deflect some. I just think that sounds like a legit critique of a first year OC mixed in with it.
  5. I mean, he definitely is sour... but that doesn't mean he can't speak some truth. We certainly looked like a team that went light in 2 minute and redzone reps/practice.
  6. probably some truth here
  7. I got the 2015 > 2003 team. Vick was a different nightmare than Cam though. Two totally different runners. 2003 John Fox would have had a pretty nasty front to rough Cam up with though. They would have better odds of putting some pain on Cam.
  8. yep, 2003 was the best roster we have ever put together IMO. 2015 was the best team simply because the of the ceiling the superstars provided. It also highlights how QB impactful a stud QB is....Cam goes 17-1 in 2015. A Kyle Allen type probably goes 5-11 with the same roster.
  9. 2003 would beat the 2015 (17-1) squad in a head to head like that too. But the 2015 team had the higher ceiling.
  10. Letting Cam get reps and develop is all that mattered in 2011. If that meant less opportunities for Double Trouble....or anyone else so be it. That's where I think the Jags are. Should be.
  11. the fact they just landed Trevor adds to critique of it all. First round picks on both the QB and RB this year. And the a pretty good RB already on the roster. The Golden Calf of Bristol would only eat into situational football reps the real players need. Trevor will need all the goal work he can get to develop. I mean if a struggling O was rolling with Alex Smith….then maybe the The Golden Calf of Bristol Hail Mary would be a better argument
  12. just something I historically hate. Part of the reason Cam's debut was historic.....was there was no film on him or the Panthers. New staff. New QB. Our opponents went in blind by NFL standards. I mean you could study college Cam. Chud elsewhere. Ron an unknown. Vanilla preseason. But it's all guess work vs normal NFL prep/game planning. Sam got 4 wins his rookie seasons. One of those was week 1. It's just my preference to play a game we have the smallest odds to win week 1 and not one we should win.
  13. it's the worst matchup on the schedule in terms of game planning and scheming for an opponent. It's all guess work. New staff on both sides of the ball. New QB.
  14. I do really like that rookie Elijah Moore though. That was a great pick.
  15. Yep. In addition to week 1 weirdness… There will be no real film on the Jets to study.
  16. you know what? Tepper isn't actually in the Panther memorabilia I got up. My bad. But I got Steve Smith looking over my shoulder if you got any questions.
  17. you don't have a picture of David Tepper hanging on your wall? I'll just call you are semi-fan from now on.
  18. Do you guys need me to call Tepper and clear all this nonsense up for you two? I can easily put a call in. I didn't say anyone would answer the call to BOA customer service though...
  19. Pretty much. He just never landed at a power 5 where he wasn't looking for better opportunity. Nowhere for Dabo or Saban to go in college really. I guess you could argue Dabo could look to the SEC but the current College Football Playoff construct probably makes Clemson the best gig in the land in some respect.
  20. If he stayed at those other schools for more than 1 or 2 years.....I suspect there would have been issues there too. But yeah, his gimmicky college offense does work. No doubt about it. The major Urban knock is the environments he creates and problems. Saban and Dabo have created elite and long term programs and cultures. I don't consider them elite scheme and X and O guys. I consider them good big picture leaders for college programs. I mean they both get their hate and some of it is just. That wasn't Urban though. I don't put him with those type college coaches.
  21. Saban is just a great college coach. His approach IMO just works better there. But Saban doesn't create clusterfugs in house. That's Urban's thing. Urban might of won in college (at universities that could pull in and give him insane talent edges).... but he left them all in a mess. No reason to think this is any different. And he is off to a predictable start. Young lockerroom and immediately brings in a circus clown.
  22. Nothing about it works IMO. Nothing about it makes any sense. Urban remains a horrible hire and it will predictably end horribly. I firmly believe what Urban will do is get Tim into the endzone.....and then people will act like that is something. The Golden Calf of Bristol isn't a TE. The Golden Calf of Bristol isn't a RB. He isn't even in the ballpark in terms of being an actual RB as the Jags #3 tailback. The Golden Calf of Bristol only works as a wildcat QB and even that is debatable at this stage. Urban just can't come out and say that. So the talk is well, maybe we will have him play something else. In a max of 3 years, Urban will have to go take time off from football to see about his health.
  23. he hasn't touched a football field in 8 years. And he has never played TE. That isn't going to work. I fully believe Urban is going to take Trevor off the field and insert The Golden Calf of Bristol short yardage package on offense. Which is stupid, yet predictable.
  24. The problem with The Golden Calf of Bristol was more so Skip Bayless/ESPN than The Golden Calf of Bristol himself. The Golden Calf of Bristol could of bounced around the league as a backup QB. ESPN/Skip prevented The Golden Calf of Bristol from just being a bad QB that racked up big money from the sidelines.
