  1. Shi (6th) was an incredible value especially looking at where Amari Rodgers (3rd) got drafted. I don’t think they are that far apart as players.
  2. We got a Dan Morgan, Kris Jenkins and 89? .
  3. Is our OL stacked minus the LT spot? Seemed like leading into the draft our weak OL was a issue...not just the fact we need a LT.
  4. the grade of this draft will come down to how the QB/OL play looks this year IMO If it’s bad? Well...this draft and the choices will be heavily discussed.
  5. Our GM is from Seattle and influenced by the success they had. So he drafted a DB that most resembled that. I question if the Legion of Boom was formed today...if refs would allow them to get away with everything they did. It will be interesting to see how far Horn will be allowed to push the limits.
  6. I think Otah was knees. Think Duke Robinson was the weight guy?
  7. Given the loss of Samuel...Shi is a good mix to what we got if the position. Was wondering who we could throw in the slot. wish he returned punts college though. Feel certain the Panthers will have him audition for it. One day we hopefully will finally just draft one out of college.
  8. He literally quit and opted out after the Ole Miss game. He didn’t figuratively quit. and I don’t and didn’t knock him for it. It was the right call. I support kids making business decisions like that. He would have pointlessly been risking injury. He only played in 7 games vs Surtain who played in 13 games. Surtain was targeted more because he played in almost double the games. But they averaged about the same number of targets per game when they played. I agree Horn has the highest ceiling. I like him. It’s a weird convo about using the 8 spot that keeps being pulled into something it isn’t intended to be.
  9. Yeah, I’m way too old to just start throwing insults...because someone doesn’t have the same opinion on a football pick as me lol My family is full of Gamecocks. Got family and friends that played there. I go to games when they ain’t playing Clemson. Life ain’t that serious.
  10. 2020 Surtain averaged 3.6 targets per game Horn averaged 3.4 targets per game 2019 Farley averaged 4.5 targets per game Horn had noticeably less total targets on the year because he quit after the Ole Miss game. Surtain played a full season + the playoffs.
  11. Was meh on the pick. Largely because I don’t watch them. My dude now.
  12. Just think the odds are higher of hitting on a special skill position guy in later rounds than linemen. I got no stats to back that. Just my gut take.
  13. I think they should of done more for the lines too....but later in the draft isn’t where I want my lines built. Rounds 4-5 I like the value of skill position dudes over the talent on the lines. I’d like them to grab a real returner at some point too. Punt return guy
  14. Yep. This is where you draft RB and certain positions. DT, OL, etc just aren’t as good of players vs these dudes down here
  15. Arm length doesn’t matter. Being naturally left handed is the magic key. Ron told me so.
  16. Again; on average, every 7th time you tried him....resulted in a touchdown in 2020. Now compare that to the rate of Surtain in 2020 and Farley in 2019. They gave up a TD on average of every 24th and 25th the time the ball came there way. In fact, comparing everyone’s final season...Horn gave up more TDs than both Surtain and Farley combined on less targets That’s a really high rate based on the action he got. He likes to maul WRs. When he can do that....it is tough to to complete passes on him. It’s why he was the best press man DB in the draft. Gamecocks couldn’t do that with him all game....just like we can’t. That’s where the inconsistency is....when he can’t go man coverage and get up on a body. just because Trey Lance has stuff to work on doesn’t mean it won’t get it done. Same with Horn. I wouldn’t of wanted Lance at 8. Same reasons. But if you take a guy at 8....it’s only far to talk about his complete game and what we want to see him improve on. I’m sure he will. Uber talented. DNA you want. But I don’t think it is fair to him with all this talk he is going to step on the field and be Luke level ready as a rookie day 1 and have that impact. DB is much harder.
  17. Horn is more Trey Lance. Surtain is more Mac Jones. That’s my overall point. Horn has the ceiling and talent. But he wasn’t very consistent and his game needs a lot more work vs the other two DBs.
  18. Well, I’m almost done with that. I don’t dislike Horn. I disliked him at 8. Some can’t accept that as position to have.
  19. At this point, I think the LSU kid is the pick that currently swung the overall feel of this draft.
  20. Moose might own the title for best individual season for a Panther WR. and 89 had a triple crown season
  21. He is really good in the short pass game too in the middle of the field. Quick hitter to the WR and he comes in lays defenders out.
  22. I like the pick. Best blocker at TE in the draft. That ain’t sexy but we could use the help up front in Brady’s scheme. We can develop him too. He is a good athlete.
  23. He had a 12.5% drop rate. That’s bad. And he largely was open....because he was the designated blocking TE. I mean he has great upside. His blocking alone makes him better than Ian Thomas. But he most definitely was bad route runner with bad hands vs the other two TEs Notre Dame did use as pass catchers
  24. yeah, because Kittle was a raw talent...and he rapidly developed when he went into the NFL. Notre Dame kid still has to develop in the pass game. And Kittle was a rocket ship in terms of his growth.
