they get A-A-Ron...they are #2 favorites in the AFC I would think
-
He might not be "single handedly win a Super Bowl" good right now. But yeah, I would think he definitely improves that D vs not having him at all last year.
-
They will get Von Miller back this year. That's gonna a pretty big bump vs last year.
-
well, we did see the rise out out of nowhere the last 2 seasons. #1 overall in 2019 and the #2 overall in 2020.

Luke Kuechly has resigned from the Panthers scouting staff
CRA replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t know if pro scouting is different than college or high school....but the travel of the other two has got to really be a drag for the average person. -

So Voth knows where he went? Luke seems like he would be a better coach than a scout if he wanted to stay in football. -

It will be interesting to see what he goes and does. And if he stays in football.... probably hard to transition to being a pro scout while still in your prime as a GOAT at your position. -
I don't really get being overly critical of Senior Bowl stuff. Good OL play also had a lot do with OL chemistry and guys working with guys they know. I think how he looked vs Auburn, LSU, Clemson, Ohio St, UGA, etc. is probably a better insight of him than the Senior Bowl.

I think the Ole Miss kid Moore looked very 89ish.

No way to see what comes in the future ....but talk about buyer’s remorse if your are SF. I would imagine Rodgers would be in a 49ers uniform if they had that draft capital they used up to get the #3 spot when they were negotiating with Green Bay.

well, that was the point of highlighting Simms here. He dictated the national discourse via the idea he was some insider of Kyle. So people began to accept something that was crazy as fug and never made any sense largely because of Simms. 4 first rounders for Mac Jones? Chris Simms made people think that made sense somehow. Or that Kyle was that stupid and that into himself. Pick one. It never made sense. I mean props to Simms on that I guess.
-
agree to disagree. Simms is the one who pushed it. And people assumed for Simms to push in it the manner he did....well, he must have inside info being Kyle's friend because giving up 4 first round picks for Mac Jones?!.... was bathshit crazy from the first moment Simms muttered it.
-
Simms is highlighted here because he was able successfully dictate the overall national conversation pre-draft. Specifically Mac Jones.
-
I understood why Sam was drafted initially where he was. I never understood why Mitch was.
-
well, this was about insiders (Simms) putting out mocks and the stock people put into that. He mocked Mac to 3 because of SF/his inside knowledge ...not because he though Mac was the 3rd best prospect.
-
Circling back here for a minute since we rarely do such on this type stuff. Simms was one of the most talked about "inside" guys putting out what he thought would happen in the draft. Simms got a grand total of 7 picks right in the first round. 2 of those being free spaces essentially in Trevor and Wilson. And almost all in the top 7. And the picks that made people pay attention to him and care? Mac in the top 5 and Fields 32nd? Not even close. Moral of the story? There isn't a big difference between looking at the mock a drunk huddler puts out there...and what Chris Simms does.

Matt Rhule on Sam Darnold and the QB Situation
CRA replied to methodtoll's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bears did manage to go to playoffs last season with a warm body at QB. Given the way the team is built and it's strengths it is a great place for a young QB. Now can the Bears groom and help Fields actually grow? Who knows. -
I think Zylstra for special teams. At least he gets a spot out of the gate to start the season off. Next is whoever earns the job job to attempt return punts. I don't think Shi is a given at that considering he has never returned a punt. Punt return is a really weird job. Got to have that in your DNA I think. Tons of guys can do kickoffs. Few can handle the PR duty.

I mean the big guy did play in the SEC....and never allowed a sack in his career. The weight hasn't been a complete liability.

Donte Jackson for Stephon Gilmore - Who says no?
CRA replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t disagree about expecting more. As I said, that’s a statement from a team that lead the league in cover 3. Some are acting like we will be a man defense. It’s rare a team runs more man than zone. -

I mean they said they wanted to play more man....but that is coming from a team that lead the NFL in cover 3. we aren’t running man all game. We would get abused. -

Gilmore is win now piece -
Hopefully we will need a long snapper more 3 times a game this season

I think this pick sealed Reggie’s fate. I think Reggie is done here with this pickup. Reggie to me was more athlete than RB. Which will be a shame if he leaves and we never got a chance to tap into Reggie’s back of tricks. would have love to of seen some creative trick play with Reggie.
