I want the Panthers to draft a young QB. That has been my stance ever since they parted with Cam. But I am not a big fan of Matt Rhule and his staff doing it.

Writing was already on the wall this offseason....when Rhule constantly told us how he wanted other coaches to run the joint practices entirely (and he was basically just along for the ride) and praised other teams as being something they hoped to be.

Perryman has been very good this year overall. and yeah, he isn't a coverage LB. If you ask to him to cover Travis Kelce you are going to have a bad time. It's like saying Brian Burns is trash because he doesn't play the run well. It's up to coaches to put them in the right spots for success. No one is claiming Perryman is the goat. But we can't stop teams that lineup and pound it right at us. That is literally what Perryman does well. Not sure why you wouldn't of preferred to just keep that on the roster.

I like a SC coach to get the job but at a different school. Brent Venables IMO is the easy call for OU and it would also officially mark the end of Clemson’s dominance

The Ron/Cam era ran it’s course. That’s just football. Ron is still my favorite Panther HC. Largely because he is a decent man. Got no hate to throw his way after all was said and done here.

Kelly has played in 2 college football playoff games and 1 conference title game while at ND…..and been laughed out of the stadium in all 3. he won’t last long at LSU

That’s why I specifically referenced the run game. Which is what he is. A run stopper and thumper LB. Which is where we need help.

Rhule doesn’t need to go to LSU. He needs to go back to college and coach outside the power 5….where he can lose to basically anyone of note like he did last time. Still can’t believe that weak college resume got him a NFL gig.

Go to think Tepper is banking on some crossover for his soccer club. As well as just the casual too. If his brand becomes being an incompetent owner….got to think that is going to impact the soccer too. and I’m not sure Tepper can fill the football stands next year without….something happening. No amount of training camp talk is going to get me to pay for Rhule year 3 at this point.

the last draft was the one to pickup QB talent. But Rhule said Sam + a DB is better than going the logical route for a team that kicked Cam to the curb. and if there is a top 10 worthy QB in this draft class….we wouldn’t be able to draft him. A QB needed team ahead of us would. and we aren’t in position to trade away any more draft picks for players. Can’t build a team with no picks.

I don’t see why people believe Fitterer is anything more than another bad hire by Tepper. Tepper has been pretty consistent with everyone he has brought in. I just don’t get a guy that picked up Sam’s 5th year, traded away all our draft picks, etc….is the guy with the right vision to lead us. And if you blame that all on Rhule? It still doesn’t speak much about our GM. He watched it all happen and signed off.

The part that allowed me to endure 2010….is we knew that was the end of the John Fox era. what makes this window worse than 2010…is we don’t know if this Matt Rhule shitshow is even going to be over. I want a clean house. New HC, new GM. Tepper is what it is. But I don’t see why this new GM still gets love. Rebuilding team traded away almost all their 2022 draft picks.

Sean Ryan has never been a play caller on any level to my knowledge. And our passing game coordinator is another one of Rhule’s Baylor guys. I’m fine firing Joe Brady. But it is nothing more than a one day feel good moment for fans. There is no one on staff to replace Joe Brady with. Which again, speaks to Matt Rhule putting together a comically weak staff.

Ok. Fire Joe Brady. Then what? It makes us feel good for a day. There isn’t anyone on staff to replace him. One of Rhule’s Baylor guys. Primary problem is Matt Rhule. He isn’t a NFL HC and he doesn’t have NFL guys on staff.

Matt Rhule literally said that a team that still hasn’t won more than 5 games the last 3 years….is getting everyone’s best shot. Like we are the defending SB champs LOL or some poo. clown. Nah, you are just a bad coach.

I don't know. The pass attack to an extent opened up their run game. Like 70% of their rushing yards came in the 2nd half.

in fairness, he wasn't dissing that opening TD playcall. It put a lot of stress on the defense and created a very easy redzone TD. That was actually a very good playcall. Brady doesn't have many to his name this year. But that one was great. Late in the game was more the basic Brady playbook. And where all the troubled plays were. I think he noted it was amazing Cam even got a completion on the one we turned it over on downs and came up short on. There was literally nothing there. And the game ender, was horrible design given the yardage needed.

for whatever reason, next gen stats has literally every QB passing chart up from last week but the Panthers game.

I don't want to rush him back. I mean if he is technically health enough and basically we have to beat Tampa to be in? Yeah, trot him out there. Otherwise, I'd rather just shut him down for the season. Tampa is really the only game where we would legitimately need him to win. Matchup wise, winning the other games is going to come down to other positions.

NFL teams have historically operated more like mom and pop shops than fortune 500 companies. I would wager, there are a lot of owners closer to the mold of Jerry Jones, Dan Synder, etc. than most realize. They just don't seek the limelight and wish to be the face like them. But behind the scenes? I mean, look at Jerry. Publically, he looked like an old man that rode in golf cart looking at his toy investment. And a camera would occassionally pan to him looking like he might fall asleep in the box. He made a point to rarely talk to the press and have his name in people's mouth. But behind the scenes? Jerry was a very impactful. Not just with his team but the league. And a massive part of Hurney's blunders that he takes all the blame for.....were simply doing what Jerry Richardson laid out. The turning point in Hurney's GM job was around the lockout time. That was JR IMO more than Hurney.
