  1. safe play was Darnold. Because around that time, the talk was all QBs could be off the board before 8. They made a bad situation for themselves IMO. Shouldn't of thrown Teddy so hard and publicly under the bus.
  2. well, I just checked it. It was a 5 point swing. I stand corrected. we went from -2.5 to +2.5
  3. as they tripped over themselves to get Stafford and Watson.....they threw Teddy so hard under the bus in that process they were forced into a corner where Teddy simply couldn't remain here. Relationship was done. Darnold was the best they could do in that scenario they created for themselves.
  4. I don’t know. What was the line of the Lions game last year vs a normal Teddy game? I mean I don’t want to see PJ. But I don’t buy a 7 point swing if Darnold can’t go.
  5. PJ Walker is better than Grier. That’s basically the PJ conversation at this point.
  6. he can do whatever he wants. but he is on 1 year deal. We just brought in a brand new QB and still have a new coaching staff and O here on top of that. It’s voluntary. It’s not the end of the world. But that is not what you want to see given the circumstances.
  7. A 2nd and 4th for Robbie? I’d have Sir Purr and Tepper go pack up his house for him
  8. I mean, he didn’t come off good. Big picture he wasn’t giving normal PR a player does in that scenario about adding a player. I mean, you know those host are like….we need DJ’s number next time. But Robbie is weird and it might just be Robbie being odd(his normal). Haven’t really seen a lot of him in these situations. I mean we laugh about the bear comment….but the dude probably isn’t the best rep for national tv interviews on what we do no matter the circumstances.
  9. Full disclosure. This has the full interview and not the edit. https://www.nfl.com/news/robby-anderson-ready-to-recapture-very-good-chemistry-with-new-panthers-qb-sam-d Robbie is a bad interview here. It is kinda funny. When immediately asked about Sam he gives them absolutely nothing. Then his first compliment as they realized they were going to have to pull teeth was about Sam throwing it up into double coverage lol.
  10. Starting from scratch? Teams aren't to start on the backend though. That wasn't really Seattle. LOB IMO is on par with Tom Brady for NE. Late round lotto tickets that just happened to hit. Kinda a unique anomaly what happened. They hit two DB All Pros in the 5th round.... in back to back drafts. Just insane. That was the foundation of the LOB.
  11. I mean Chinn was the better player last vs Brown. I just think the positions would make Brown the more attractive trade option given the value/importance of DL play vs what is behind it.
  12. I'd go Burns, Brown and then Chinn. Gets hard after that.
  13. lol. I'm not putting words in Robbie mouth. It's guesses of a why...if we were to believe the rumor of the GM shopping Robbie were true. I mean, why are you in a thread discussing the rumor if you don't want to discuss the rumor?
  14. Mahomes wouldn't put up great stats in NY. Mahomes would still look like a fantastic QB if you put him on that team today though. Bell also took a year off of football before going to the NY Jets and returned at age 27. Some of that is likely to be on Bell though. I mean, Cincinnati was a bad spot for Joe Burrow to land. Joe Burrow is super talented and it still showed though. Stats and wins might not look great. But Joe Burrow showed his stuff.
  15. Worth noting, he is 0-1 in the NFL pulling that out off with QBs. And it did blow up on his face pretty well. NFL and college are still different animals. and yeah, he has his college resume. Take Temple. He turned them around. Largely by developing the best defense in the conference and running the ball. PJ was still only completing 50% of his passes. I think odds are Rhule is going to just need to find an uber talented QB…not keep trying to think he can fix guys that couldn’t cut it. Which is basically the norm for everyone.
  16. I wanted us to take Fields. I feared the new GM from Seattle would take Horn. Which he did. is Robbie Anderson sitting here? Robbie could be. How likely is it? I don't know. I'm not very good at math and giving you accurate odds of likely something is to be true or false. Which Robbie Anderson are we talking about? Robbie from accounting? Are we talking a physical human? I don't know man. Anything is possible. I mean Sam Darnold could be great. Never rule anything in life 100% out.....at most I would go with 99.99999999999999999%. But never 100%.
  17. I think I get it, but I am not sure... Let me guess, would that word also be an accurate description of Sam Darnold's play in the NFL?
  18. Just throwing stuff out there. and yeah, no NFL players likes going in to play on a 1 year deal. Especially one whose stock is high. It's a bad spot for Robbie IMO. More downside than upside as things currently stand. and yeah, Sam's personal likeability and potential down the road aside, it isn't a great spot for Robbie to have his future at this point....tied to how Sam Darnold does in a 2021 vacuum. Robbie might love Sam the person. But Sam is a project who hasn't been developed properly. And that is per Robbie. if I was Robbie, I wouldn't like that. I think some are overly defensive of Sam Darnold
  19. yeah, he is one of those freak athletes IMO. Where he is more great athlete than great football player. his track speed has always bumped his perceived ability up a notch IMO. Those guys are always frustrating.
  20. I always wanted Jackson to be the nickel. We have a history of being forced to move guys ideally suited for the nickel to the outside. I think his gambling nature is better suited there.
  21. I basically judge Sam based off of 2019. Not a rookie. Org not in full tank mode. he went 7-9 with a really bad team. We have gone 7-9 or worse with better teams around a QB. So that's the Sam hope.
  22. wikipedia says he just turned 28 this month.
  23. It might not be because he dislikes Sam specifically but the scenario he finds himself in. It could just be he is in the last year of his contract coming off a breakout season. It's a business. It's not an ideal spot to go into this season like that. Players want some security when they think they deserve it. Imagine if Robbie broke his leg week 2? It's a perfectly reasonable stance that Robbie's team could of already been in serious talks with the new GM about Robbie's situation. In fact, I would think that is likely a certainty.
  24. it isn't a huge reach that just MAYBE a WR who thrived without Sam Darnold....might not be thrilled behind the scenes that his next contract/future is about to be tied to Sam Darnold. Again, this is Robbie's last year of his contract. Sam from the Jets is back in play to set Robbie's future after his breakout season. The only narrative, is trying to figure out a reason why the GM would do such a thing. And it's not a huge reach if that is the premise we are discussing. It would be a huge reach if I just randomly suggested it without that premise IMO. Again, I advocated to sign Sam Darnold right when the Watson thing blew up. I was comfortable with it before many. It was the right call at that time. And I am not a Sam hater. I just don't hype up that move as more than a Teddy replacement.
