he stumbled over words and got a tad flustered IMO over his explanation on Robbie. I mean, there is something there. It wasn't exactly clear cut on the why. I found it interesting when we went on to talk about the lone other player he added in that some might not be here for business reasons and he did his best to not get into all that.

last year CMC was healthy, he lead the team in receiving targets, receptions and posted a 1000+ receiving yards. If CMC was healthy last season, Samuel nor Robbie likely reach 1000 total yards. CMC eats into all that. It's not mental gymnastics to say CMC will be primary target in the passing offense. Which will impact the production/opportunity of others.

unless you are in the last year of a contract and looking to post big individual numbers. Great scenario for the Panthers. Not so great for Robbie (from new contract perspective). Depends on whose perspective.
-
CMC and DJ Moore will be prioritized ahead of Robbie in the pass game. They should be. They are better overall threats. That puts Robbie 3rd. CMC's injury aided Robbie and Samuel Him not being in play was a factor in those two having the opportunity to post what they did. I think it is fair to acknowledge that. As well as Teddy's accuracy and being willing to take what was given....which also aided stats for some guys. Which is why we had 3 WRs with 1000 total yards.....and yet our offense wasn't that good.

Yep, he was the #2 option for a very safe and accurate QB last year. He put up good numbers. He is in the last year of his current deal. His next contract will be tied to his performance this year. This year he will be the #3 receiving option for a QB that has a lot of developing to do. Liking Sam the human….doesn’t mean Robbie thinks he is in a great spot presently. His numbers should be worse this year.

Panthers are going to make some noise.... a Viking perspective
CRA replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Jefferson almost put up Marshall’s entire college production in his last season at LSU…and then walked into the NFL and broke the NFL rookie record. I like Marshall. Think he can be a one. I don’t think he is entering the league where Jefferson was at though as a WR. He might can get there down the road. -

I mean, I love the Terrace pick. My favorite of the draft. But you are setting the bar a tad high I think -
Gase sucked. But Bell isn’t the Pitt RB anymore and proved that in KC. I mean he speaking truth…but also using that to deflect IMO away from the fact he doesn’t have it anymore. That year off did him in to a degree. Lots of teams have poo play callers. Think Shula has the best win % of any OC in Carolina.

Panthers Confidential - A Look Into the Panthers Offseason

Notice how Voth doesn’t ever rule out Fiesta Taco Salad. I’m gonna dig in. Get ready for an I told you if we get a Taco Bell partnership. -

again, it all depends what reports and rumors you want to go off of. Pretty sure you were more on the Chris Simms side of things where Fields had odds of being a later pick and not top of the draft trade bait. but if the Panthers were willing to trade back and then still pass on Fields/Mac? (and you know I don't like Mac at all)......well, I'm ready for the next era. Value would have been way too good IMO. -
I mean, I would listen to your sales pitch. I probably shut the door on you if we still had Samuel though.

could of been Fiesta Taco Salad. I don't know. I know there is an F. And it likely involved trading down in the first. That still leaves Fields and Farley. It's probably not a Fiesta Taco Salad from Taco Bell but maybe a team could have that sent to the war room as part of a deal. Again, I told you I don't talk in absolutes about things I can't possibly be sure of. Rhule could be that big of a Taco Bell fan. -

Well, he went after our pick....and he went around the same area Tucker did. More so than Farley. I mean, it's whatever your mind wants it to be. -

Tucker looking pretty strong now that I see how his name is spelled. That's got to be it. I think the trade down list seems to make a lot of sense. You know, that has to be factored in. I mean, the last one clearly starts with a F. That's it. The rest is a jumble. Could be Farley. Could be Fields. I'm not sure you could really argue one over the other outside of just wishing to be right. -
I think to have a great rivalry you need certain players to make it a little more than a football game. We just have had so many all around good dudes that play for us. maybe Horn can help with that. Not saying Horn isn't a good dude. But we need some trash talk. We some edge before and after the whistle.

maybe. Sure looks like it ends with an S though. -
go to the Panther confidential thread and tell me what the last name on the board looks like. I mean, if you had to guess.

I mean, something was clearly deemed important enough to make the board and discussion...and they seem to have made a decision it wasn't something that should make the video. Maybe Rhule thought he would add his Taco Bell lunch order in the section about first round picks. Who knows. Could also just mean we really suck at corner and the new GM really values corner coming from the LOB/Seattle. -
Just what I said, reports aren't the gospel. Lot of times teams want certain things out there. They will put it out there. Pretty common in sports. People use the media. Teams. Players.

could be. Trade downs in the first. Fields/Jones. First one could be the Ole Miss WR but spelled with an A? They had both Bama WRs up there so they clearly were entertaining a WR in the first. But it sure does look like Fields. Which matches the reporting. People wanted him in the building. and it would make sense to edit that out to push the Sam is the dude narrative post draft. -

High, mispelled Elijah? Fields that's my guess. -

it all is heavily edited to paint a specific picture. Still cool. But even take Rhule's board at the beginning. He lists who they think likely drafted ahead of them....and then on the other side a cluster of guys they want to discuss. But even that is edited and they don't show you everything said. and you know that because it cuts away from Rhule as he is in the process of writing the two Bama WRs....to a cut of him stepping away from the board. They edited out something. And you can pause it as he steps back and see he added something underneath the Bama WRs. It's blurry though. Can only guess. It like the half second between the 6:22 and 6:23 mark. But they added something. 2 more names? A thought. Whatever it was, they didn't want it in the video. But it was important enough to make the board... definitely doesn't look like Slater though. -
actual reports are often just team pr and propaganda though. kinda like their draft confidential. It is super edited to present like a master plan that all worked to perfection. It leaves out all the other discussions. Guys they wanted instead of who they got etc. Routine disagreement. All the stuff they wouldn't want you to hear.

I added the edit to the post he quoted. Mods somehow how are the only ones who currently can edit their own post. I've always done it to my post. Posters could in the past. Instead of adding a new post I'll go back and finish a thought. Just an old habit.
