  1. No doubt in regards to Cam. Was just talking about Teddy and Darnold type stuff not being that different from Moore, Carr, Clausen , parts of Delhomme era.
  2. A lot of it is scripted reality TV. Rhule in his office boxing up stuff. Tepper on his couch. Players at there homes. That is Kardashian style reality TV. Other parts are guys clearly playing to mics that they know are being used for Panther media. I don’t know what is really going on. That’s kinda the point. John Fox telling you he loves Clausen….isn’t the cold hard truth either. Which is again, kinda the point. and it’s why fans here can BS around with what they think. Half the fun. Because no one knows what is really going on. The Panther PR videos are just that. They aren’t the truth either. a NFL team wouldn’t let people actually be a real fly on the wall lol. Fans would probably want half the staff fired and 1/4 of the players cut lol
  3. Yes, the PR video about the draft was literally done for fans. That’s the point of the video. It’s why you got 15 seconds of the conversation that clearly wasn’t a 15 second conversation. They only let you hear what they want to hear. They aren’t going to let you hear all the disagreements and cases made for and against guys. You won’t know who wanted what and didn’t get it. Well, you often find that out years later when the bands breakup. It’s like the video out today. It’s crafted for you. The fan. It shows you what they want you to see. They know when the mic is on. It’s like Tepper sitting on his coach talking to Rhule where his wife walks in on the conversation. Just a big coincidence the camera crew was at Teppers house when Rhule called for that to make it in. Yeah, a lot of behind the scenes stuff is totally scripted. It’s not a hidden camera show. If this was 2010 you would be claiming everyone in Carolina was doing cartwheels after that draft and that it was awesome. Because that is what the team told people publicly. John Fox probably came out and talked about he pumped he was about Jimmy Jam lol. Got to be true. Fox just said so.
  4. I missed the part where you listed the names on the board. Or where it was said the unknown names were trade downs. but as I said, the names aren’t the point. NFL teams have never been open and honest about what goes on behind the scenes. Not claiming they should. It would make no sense to be with fans. We are the people they are trying to sell.
  5. Okay, it’s was Twitter. That’s not the point. He was addressing the the online talk that likely started here. Cool. What where all the names on the board? Did Tepper call you and tell you they were trade down options? Or are you just guessing/assuming. Because you don’t like that. None of that was said in the video. But again, the point isn’t what names were up on the board…..it is just that the Panthers nor any team actually tells you everything. Because it is never how they sell it to you in the end. But yeah, the draft video showed everyone agrees on everything. Everyone happy. Everything went exactly how they planned from the jump.
  6. Bill Voth literally came on here and addressed it. They didn’t show us the board at the end and all that was written on it (your declaration)….nor did they include all the talk. They just cut to the conclusion and never showed the full board. Voth came on here and said it wasn’t Fields we thought we saw. He wouldn’t say what it actually said though above it or what it was. They opted not to include that info. Because the Panthers now and before and all other teams….only tell you what they choose to.
  7. So tell us what was all written down on the board that they edited out…where Voth came in to declare it didn’t say Fields. But didn’t say what was written. point isn’t about if it said Fields or not. Point is merely they only tell you and show you what they want.
  8. The Jimmy Clausen, Matt Moore, David Carr, Delhomme eras all had the same fan talk IMO
  9. and there QB room sucks if you are trying to start a raw rookie to begin with. there isn’t anyone in that QB room that knows diddly about playing QB in the NFL. and to a degree I think our QB room is wrong too. You want to try this Darnold experiment out? PJ and Grier don’t aid Darnold.
  10. would have been a lot cooler if Voth actually said what all was on the board…that they didn’t think we needed to see.
  11. He had one great season in college for an independent school playing against weak opponents. I mean he is talented….but a day 1 starter for a bad team? Just a bad plan. got to the think the game speed adjustment is much more problematic for a Wilson than a Trevor, Fields or Jones. And I’m sure all 3 of them are having a time with it. But Trevor and Fields at least played at a high level for multiple seasons with NFL caliber DL talent coming at them and covering their WRs. Got to think the game speed change is less crazy for them vs Wilson.
  12. I’d totally vote Hester in. Will probably take a couple rounds for him though as no one cares about ST. But he is a legit GOAT. More deserving IMO than what might be the 15 best DE.
  13. How many can get in per year? Got to think finalist that didn’t get in last time could have an edge. Fair or unfair. Two former Panthers were finalist last go round and didn’t make it. Sam Mills and Jared Allen. Positionally, I’d jump 89 over all the WRs even if a finalist. Got to think Allen and Ware got decent odds. They basically sit at sacks where 89 is in yards. Everyone ahead of them is basically a HOFer that has been eligible.
  14. Fail? I wouldn’t use that word. I fear Darnold will be…okay. We get to about 7ish wins. Maybe 8. Ball bounces our way, 9? Which is something I think Teddy could of pulled of this year…with a healthy CMC. which causes us to just hang around in “average land”. Darnold returns. They extend him. We remain irrelevant. But okay. I think in the NFL you should fixate on QB, OL and DL. That is where your talent needs to be. You work around the rest.
  15. Yes, he said Phil Snow was the origin of the idea to bring in Darnold. Claimed Snow thought he looked like Matt Stafford on tape. Snow IMO has always been the key to Rhule’s success so he probably has more pull than anyone with Rhule. But yeah, all that plays into why I am critical of what they have done. This ain’t small time college football where great D paired with average QB play wins. Which IMO is what Rhule and Snow did in college.
  16. he did. They were 0-4. And before the injury, the Jets purged their roster of talent to tank. Which is why they were 0-13 and staring at Trevor Lawrence late in the season. There were leaks from inside the Jets org that the tank was on from the jump last year. Football still gets played. The FO can only set the stage to suck. Which they did their best. * and I have never bashed Sam for his 2020 performance because of that. I've always noted he was screwed from the start in 2020 by the FO.
  17. same interview with Rich Eisen where he said he thought Darnold + Horn was better overall for the team than drafting Fields. Which isn't the same thing as him saying he thinks Darnold is better than Fields.
  18. and Phil Snow thought it was a great idea. In fact, Darnold initially was the DCs idea. Crafty move Phil. Team with no QB and no OL in back to back drafts...keeps spending their first round pick on guys for you. the Philappaloosa model lol. I mean Phil Snow is getting some beasts.
  19. well, Tannehill got hurt. Darnold only had 1 real year with Gase. Which was his "good" year. They went full tank mode this year from the jump.
  20. well, you also need the QB talent that thrives in a NFL passing scheme. Joe Burrow didn't have loads of talent at Cincy. He had no OL and his #1 was a rookie WR....and still was pulling it off looking sharp. Talented QBs find a way to shine bright even in bad spots. Special dudes are special. The Golden Calf of Bristol and Joe Burrow fit different schemes. It's why Joe couldn't break through the Urban depth chart. And it's why The Golden Calf of Bristol can't play in the NFL.
  21. Darnold and Tannehill both had their best season year 1 when paired with Gase
  22. yeah, I don't think Tannehill is special. Derrick Henry has lead the NFL in rushing and rushing TDs the last 2 seasons. Derrick Henry is special. You remove Derrick Henry and I think Tannehill would be average. maybe. Or maybe Joe Burrow is just a guy that thrives in a NFL pass scheme and not a college one. Joe Brady brought the Saints pass/scheme game to LSU as the pass game coordinator. And LSU busting at the seam with a roster full of NFL WRs is a big part of it too. Burrow looked pretty impressive out of the gates in Cincy without the pass game coordinator he was paired with for only one season.
  23. Darnold's mono year was his best season of his career.
  24. I think Gase is a weak HC. But his QBs generally are what they are IMO. Good, bad or average. They show where they are. So I think Darnold is average as average can be. Could be wrong. But nothing about Rhule's average college QBs screams Rhule's programs have a magic QB touch...for our org to be trying to turn average into more.
  25. year 1 - a healthy Tannehill went to the playoffs in year 1. year 2 - blew his ACL and missed the entire season year 3 - coming back from ACL, injured his throwing shoulder. Injury killed Tannehill in Miami more than Gase being a touch of death. Historically, Gase's average to below average QBs have overachieved in his system in year 1 as a HC or OC.
