Shi and Chubba aren't punt returners though. PR is weird. You either got it or you don't.
-
I would say that isn't an actual depth chart. And they simply put the only bodies who have returned a punt as the punt returners. but I have no problem with it. You could just have them fair catch them all. Actually fielding a punt and not muffing it is the concern by just putting a random guy back there.

We have won 5 games each of the last two seasons. and there is at least an arguement....we got a little worse on both the OL and at QB. I mean, it isn't outlandish for folks not to have ton of respect for us. I mean, I think we will win. I wouldn't be shocked if we lost. Our OL/QB combo looks problematic and that can implode a teams chances in any given game. The starters didn't look great in their one appearance in the preseason on O. and while we likely will have a pass rush. It can't get there every snap. And we have been a very average defense when it doesn't of late.

well, last season we had a checkdown QB. So that is what happened. Joe Brady's offensive pass scheme is built off Sean Payton.....so it isn't a checkdown offense. Which is why it LSU had a historic offense. The deep ball is an essential cog.

I mean, Darnold checked down all training camp and off-season. It was a common theme reported on. And when we finally saw him in a half of football in preseason that is what he did. Small ball. that’s most likely the early plan IMO

Sam has had one of the highest INT% by a starting QBs in each of the last 3 seasons. He has been the only constant in that grouping of top 5 highest INT%. his INT% increased last year. Total INTs went down simply because of less games.

Your reaction when Sam Darnold is not named a Captain...

Fans like Chinn more than Shaq. Understandably so. but come on… -
ESPN Analytics' simulation. You're not gonna like it...maybe

I think Teddy was a bad fit in hindsight for a super green staff. Especially one trying to figure it out in the shortened COVID lead up. Sam could probably be slightly worse than Teddy and they stick with him. Because Sam isn't going to always give the textbook response. -
I think Horn will defiantly get his shot to show what he has got. I mean, given his play style....you got to think a NFL staff is going to look his way to see what is what.

man coverage is always an interesting play. People hate soft zone. But coaches run so much of it to limit the big plays and forces QBs to play a certain way. I'm not sure this team is anywhere close to being ready to run tons of man coverage. More? Sure. We ran more cover 3 than anyone. But a lot? Out the gate? Well, that can be playing with fire with a gunslinger. Especially when your team as a whole hasn't run a lot of it and your number one man DB is a rookie that sat out most preseason reps.

I got a soccer game. I'll basically watch the ticker on Sunday. But to get a feel for what is going on.... I'll check the gameday thread around halftime to see which players we are melting down over vs enshrining in the HOF.

The turnovers were HUGE vs rookie Herbert. He had 2 which became auto FGs. 6 points was the difference in the game. But outside of the turnovers, we did a poor job making a rookie look like a rookie. He completed over 70% of his passes, 300+ yards, and got his team into the endzone more times than the Panthers. Let's hope the Panthers D can step that up a little this year vs a rookie.

Unless we get to garbage time, I actually think Hubbard is going to temporarily move to being 3rd string RB. I think given our OL situation, Freeman is going to jump him early in the season largely for pass protection and tough yards.

Bulcombe or Buncombe County? Here is Buncombe County County Center - Coronavirus (COVID-19) Community Update for Aug. 31, 2021 (buncombecounty.org) Approximately 72% of the eligible Buncombe County population (those 12 years and up) has received at least one dose of vaccine, while 68% of the eligible population is fully vaccinated. Currently, 63% of the total population in the county has received at least one dose of vaccine and 59% of the total population in the county is fully vaccinated.

Offenses generally start slow. Our guys didn't get much work. OL looked problematic vs Steeler backups. Jets interior DL is pretty solid. So I think this game is actually close. I think it will be an overload of CMC and people irritated about his workload. I'm calling it comes down to our new FG kicker. That seems like a predictable storyline for how this one could go.

such a great actor. Omar Little was one of the GOATs in terms of TV characters.
-
Tom Brady thinks it will be….because players won’t be locked down. basically because he expects poor decisions to increase. So when team X travels to random city X… they have the freedom and ability to be exposed to more people vs last year. not entirely sure of what restrictions are on the players….but in normal times players are allowed to do pretty much whatever they want. Strip clubs, bars, restaurants, meet up with out of town friends, etc when on the road.

Rhule just confirmed he is unvaccinated Next up is Dailey, then Brown and they still don’t know he will return punts. So it sounds like there are high odds that someone will be making there first PR of their career Sunday (college or pros)…..which makes the odds of muffed punts super high.
-
Local beat writers know who the 2 are. I’m sure he is one of them given they all are coming out pretty hard with the unvaccinated player protocol stuff.
-
Reports are coaches are really worried about testing this week. Tons of guys went off to college games, parties and events this weekend. not sure what days the testing is for vaccinated guys. Think unvaccinated is everyday. Something to watch late this week.

Week 1 often tells you lies. Hard to predict it. Lot of bad teams look good and good ones bad. Hard to have a lot to confidence in our OL though. And if it is what it is, hard to have confidence in Sam behind it
-
We have a great OL
-
If the Panther OL holds. If it can’t….those sweet Panther matchups at WR begin not to matter as much. Not confident enough in the OL based off what we saw vs the Steelers to predict some beat down . Jets interior DL is much better than the Steelers JV squad

He also did the flip side for us https://jetsxfactor.com/2021/09/04/carolina-panthers-mismatches-ny-jets/ 1. DJ/Robby vs Jets DBs 2. CMC vs Jets LBs 3. Moton in the run game 4. Brown inside 5. Burns off the edge but I would assume people would feel he is 100% right about all these though
