  1. I don’t know….it wasn’t that bad of a question. Was it a read option or a QB run. And I also get Sam not answering it. But him not answering it likely was answering it IMO.
  2. Only so much scheming you can do around a weak OL though. Especially short yardage and red zone IMO. I mean we can’t pick up a yard by handing the ball off….it’s not really a play-calling or lack of execution issue as it is simply just a lack of OL talent IMO.
  3. well as far as checkdowns… That really wasn’t the critique. Sam isn’t a checkdown QB. The complaint was through camp, preseason and week 1 he appeared to be coached into being one. Because that isn’t how he has ever played…and we didn’t need to ask him to be Teddy. Could of just kept Teddy who is great at that if that is what they were going to do with Sam. He is now playing the field like he always has. Which is good.
  4. he has done a good job the past two weeks in that area.
  5. Same as last year. Good overall offense and play calling between the 20s. Closer we get…the harder it is for him to figure out what works with these players. Part of that IMO is just lack of OL talent.
  6. Moore is simply a better WR. He is our #1. So Sam looks his way more.
  7. It’s just math. You put the ball on the ground consistently….it isn’t always gonna be recovered. It matters. and it’s why it’s always been a problem for Sam. Because the law of averages always catches up to you eventually
  8. It’s the whole law of averages aspect. If you put the ball on the ground a lot….it’s a problem. Because it’s not always going to bounce your way. Ball security and bad decisions are literally the Sam Darnold knocks. Always have been. He consistently does it. Ball security. USC, NY and to date here. and your numbers are off. He doesn’t have 1 fumble on the season. He has 4 in 3 games. He had 2 last night, both in Carolina territory. fumbles and fumbles lost are two different stats. I’ll put the 2nd on Rhule. Was stupid to ask Sam to attempt that drive given how things were unfolding. Could see that fumble coming a mile away. The first is just poor pocket awareness and ball security. You got to feel that, protect the ball and move in the pocket better.
  9. He is the literal GOAT and defending champ. those are national shows. We have won 5 games the last 2 seasons. The masses would change the channel if these national shows devoted too much time to Carolina.
  10. Beating the Texans while losing CMC/Horn?
  11. Losing CMC is bad news for the Panthers and Darnold. It is what it is. Losing CMC changes what defenses are comfortable with….and we saw last night they get a lot more aggressive coming at Sam with the CMC checkdown off the table. and we dodged a lot of bullets last night that those Sam fumbles bounced our way.
  12. Robby isn’t in Carolina just running deep verticals though. Yeah, they might scheme up one or two per game….but that isn’t why he isn’t getting the ball IMO.
  13. the Sam to Robby connection IMO was never super strong. Robby had a 53% catch rate when targeted by Sam in NY. It’s 45% this year. DJ, Marshall, CMC are all 70% or higher
  14. Game ball has to go to the center. He recovered both.
  15. Chubba is 3 games in to a rookie year still getting adjusted to speed of it all. Behind a OL that doesn’t open holes. I got no worries about him. It really doesn’t help that eye test goes from watching CMC’s magic…to then Chubba. It’s a built in unfair disadvantage. But he needs some work on the juggs machine. I think his feet will stay under him with more reps and getting comfortable.
  16. I would think so. Greg Olsen came back in the same season from a break in his foot
  17. even if they get it…I hate this call. Go up by 10.
  18. Nice play. For those keeping score at home….Joe Brady has his first nice play call in the redzone
  19. Robby Anderson has reverted to being NYJ Robby. Basically means like once every couple games he will catch a deep vertical. Yet we just paid him all that money…..you would think he would be bigger a bigger part of gameplans
  20. DBO sign must have been thrown in the trash. Because every other play the D is making dumb penalties. You can’t lineup in the neutral zone 57 times.
  21. Darnold has a long history of fumbling though. It’s haunted him since USC.
  22. yeah, I put that on Rhule. Texans have the mo….asking Sam to drive the field with no time is asking for trouble. Was totally predictable. Lucky we landed on that fumble.
