No, I just don’t get down with the wild swings where someone is awesome and then 3 games later trash. for example, I won’t get down with those who will be talking about overpaying Jackson this week. He had a couple good games. That doesn’t define him. Joe Brady is a 2nd year OC with a good overall scheme. Yeah, as I literally said he needs work situationally….that comes with reps and time. That was literally the 21st game he has ever called in his life. Yes, the OL is poo. That remains the point. It’s a talent issue. Give the greatest OC a poo OL and the talent will make his play calls look horrible often.
-
if you want to argue OL and QB play isn’t the most important thing in the NFL? Have at it. You can’t scheme and playcall around bad OL play paired with an average QB for 17 games. Your talent issues will just get exposed eventually. And who you play will have a lot to do with how that works out.
-
Sam Darnold still has all his NY issues. That’s not all on Joe Brady. and a rookie Chubba in his second start hit a 100 yards on the ground behind this OL. Brady is young and situationally needs work. His scheme overall is clearly good.
-
Well, it was a bad day to have a bad day. Missed opportunities.
-
Joe Brady doesn’t get to throw the ball. Brady’s overall scheme and playcalling are fine. You can only do so much as a play caller. Situationally he needs some work but as a 2nd year OC he is just fine. The OL and QB make or break playcalling.
-
They never had chemistry on the field. The random long TD showed up on sportscenter. But Sam here and in NY always has done better not throwing to Robby.
-
He isn’t a decoy. He is the 2nd most targeted player on the roster. He doesn’t have production this year because he has a 40% catch rate when Sam throws at him. the connection has never been great, it was talked about this off-season
-
Sam and Robby never had a good connection. The completion % when targeting him was always bad in NY….and it is glaringly bad here vs when Sam throws at literally anyone else on the roster. I still maintain the smart move was to see how things unfolded before extending Robbie. We just drafted two WRs and have a super stud in Moore. And that cap space could of been used elsewhere going forward.

Cam is a pretty big task. I mean he is the biggest superstar we have ever had. That’s not an easy jump.
-
Situation defiantly matters. I mean, I don’t think Sam is really much different of a player today than last year. What is dramatically different is the scenario he is in. You put Tom Brady on the Jets right now and he would suck. Jets might be a little better but it would knock him down several pegs. Same dude though.

Sam’s floor is NY Sam. It’s what he is minus good coaching and being surrounded by good playmakers

Random bump into a player story…. I once bumped into Olindo Mare. One of the brief post Kasay kickers. I literally bumped into him. My wife and I were late and in a hurry to an important event speed walking to our car (keys in hand) and she was fussing at me about something dumb… and as I turned around to say something smart to her I ran smack into Mare. Bigger guy than you would think. I’m not exactly small and he sent me crashing down to the concrete. As I looked up Mare clearly felt bad as he noticed and commented that in the process of knocking me down to the concrete it caused my rolex watch to get scratched on it’s face. When I went to examine the damage it caused me to drop my bugatti keys down a sewer drain. What are the odds. Talk about having an even more pissed off wife. I told Mare not to worry about it. I should of been paying better attention to where I was walking. He helped me up and offered me a ride. Super nice of him. I declined. Told him I would just uber over to Micheal Jordan’s bday party. But I always liked Mare for offering me that ride. He totally didn’t have to do that.

Gamecocks could not win a single game for 4 consecutive seasons and those fools would still have that stadium packed jumping up and down to sandstorm. It’s kinda weird how supportive the collective fan base is. I mean the last time the Gamecocks actually won something was the 1969 ACC Championship….

as the years have gone by we have been blessed with the ability to buy larger and larger homes…. YET…my man space shrinks upon every move. I basically now have a bathroom I can lock myself in at this point to hide from the wife, kids, animals, and random people at my house.

Anyone else got a bad feeling about this Eagles game?
CRA replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think they will be able to run on us. and I have never forgotten Fletcher Cox almost single handedly beating us after being a last minute activation that was hurt all week. I think we win. I don’t think we will feel great after it. But that’s also just how football is. -
Cam Erving and Shaq Thompson are OUT. Christian McCaffrey is DOUBTFUL
CRA replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
Shaq is a big loss. I still think our D is largely odd rush dominant. Run D could be a problem again this week. -
One day my kids will grow up and I will tell them about the important mental health aspects of goofing off while at work…. imma tell them this is Zod

I was this front office was as good at addressing an OL as they are at other positions….given it is the most important overall aspect to winning in the NFL.

Stephon Gilmore is about to be released by the Patriots!
CRA replied to jasonluckydog's topic in Carolina Panthers
Gilmore would be a poor usage of cap. Looking into the next year. We need to spend on OL. And we probably shouldn’t of extended Robbie for that reason too. That could of gone to the OL too -
They are really pushing the Diggs shutdown Moore narrative
CRA replied to GoobyPls's topic in Carolina Panthers
DJ Moore did whatever he wanted to do. Sam’s first pick was just a dumb throw. Despite the announcers saying it was to Anderson I felt it was actually to Marshall. But that wasn’t so much a great defensive play but Darnold being bad. One of those trademark Charles Godfrey type INTs. You just happen to be where a bad ball was coming. 2nd INT was a good play on the ball. Credit there. But again, that wasn’t to DJ. -
Jeremy Chinn seems to be in the early Thomas Davis window of his career. Too talented and causing a staff to put him where he doesn’t actually belong.
-
I never thought the Panthers, the D, the coaching staff, Sam were what was collectively painted after 3 weeks. I also don’t think any of those things are what was painted after the Dallas game. I think when we are done with the 3 game stretch vs the Cowboys, Eagles and Vikings we will have a good overall picture of our strength and weaknesses and exactly where we stack up.
-
Sam isn’t Aaron Rodgers. He isn’t going to be. That’s okay. Sam is good enough with our weapons. we need to build a respectable OL. And we still need to add talent at LB. MLB specifically. Shaq is playing great this year but we need more talent at the next level IMO
-
We played 2 bad teams with rookies making their first start and a hammered Saints team….. today we played a top tier NFL offense with essentially no holes on offense. so what are we? Something inbetween weeks 1-3 and today. Few teams are built like the Cowboys O. Good OL, Good QB, Good RBs, Good WRs.
