If we traded Jayce Horn next season…..that would be a massive red flag that there isn’t something right with Horn. that’s the scenario. CJ Henderson was a massive red flag. I treat it as that and expect nothing of it. I’m fine with the trade. But it’s clearly a gamble play. Teams don’t deal top 10 picks like that unless something is wrong

Seriously with what the staff is saying do we win another game this year?

Probably draft a DB at 7 or something like that if he can’t get a good deal to trade down -

What do you expect an OC to pull off with Sam Darnold and this OL paired? Both suck on their own. The combo is not going to work for anyone. firing Brady achieves nothing. -

Every week is a new over the top position. Sam is going to be in the MVP talk. Jackson is going to demand top 5 money. Now we never win again. we aren’t as good as weeks 1-3 suggested. Healthy, we aren’t as bad as weeks 4-6 suggest. we will get CMC back eventually. We will get Shaq back. We will get Gilmore. We will get CJ. we play plenty of average and bad teams. Atlanta, Giants, Dolphins, WFT. We will win more games. We just won’t matter. -
Only one undefeated QB in Panther history…. PJ moves in chaos better than Darnold. They both makes throws they shouldn’t.
-
Literally everyone had a career year on O with Brady last year (just like the year prior at LSU) Teddy, DJ, Robby, Samuel. All career bests. Can you really suck if that is what is happening? Career bests? and now Sam is still on pace to have a career year? DJ on pace to top his again. Basically everyone minis Robby who is clearly just playing horrible at this point. so maybe…Joe Brady just needs better talent.

Sam isn’t on a different planet than PJ. That’s reality. It’s not an attempt to overrate what PJ is. He is a backup QB. It’s not about PJ being the man here. Sam isn’t a good. He is a backup QB and there is little reason for us to not of known that. But Sam will be the guy. And Rhule will slowly start scapegoating people as the season goes on. That’s what coaches do when they get egg on their face. QB coaches. OC. Give it time. No one can win on O with Darnold and this OL paired together. it was a always a joke that Rhule claimed he was going to bring in Darnold to fix and redeem him….and then paired him with this OL. It could only go one way. Which is the way it is now headed.

Bad offense impacts a defensive negatively. Always has. and if all your O can manage by themselves in a half of football is getting themselves into position for 3 points? You aren’t going to beat teams with a good offense. so yeah, the offense was pathetic in the first half. And yeah it matters how a team scores. If the you are discussions units and what they are doing. Offense isn’t good enough. And the D will continue to look bad as long as they suck. Like last week. We kept throwing the D out there vs Philly getting diddly from the O…..and the D eventually looked bad after gift wrapping that game it doesn’t matter how you score in terms of beating a team. A win is a win. ST could score them all. You get a win regardless. It matters in terms of discussing your actual team though and looking ahead. And your odds of future success.

Overall, just the former Jet Robby Anderson. Collectively, our skill position players have performed well around him on the year IMO. Especially DJ. CMC was a beast when healthy. Chubba IMO is overachieving given the OL and his inexperience. Everyone catch rate when targeted is solid (again, minus Robbh which is just comically bad).

Pie is basically the default to agree/like a post. Beer and eggplant just variation of it.

and I always thought making Sam the plan was predictably dumb. Had no problem adding him to the roster though. But he isn’t going to be good. He isn’t a starting QB. His flaws showed before NY and now after. He is what he is. that said, he is better than Jimmy Clausen. Not even close.
-
Only positive about PJ is when survival mode kicks in behind a bad OL….he is a better pure runner and more evasive than Sam. As far as passers, while Sam might be slightly better they are in the same ballpark. Because Sam is a backup QB in the NFL. I’m fine with going to PJ or sticking with Sam because it doesn’t matter who starts. Results will overall be the same. But Rhule won’t admit the obvious on Sam. He will go in scapegoat mode first. But going the Sam route was always obvious….

Bad offense impacts a D negatively.
-
Offense scored 21 points and that was with the D putting the ball 18 yards away for them. that’s not enough offense when you are playing a team like a healthy Vikings team. If it wasn’t for the D and ST…. the O basically worked themselves into position to only get a FG in the first half. That isn’t enough.
-
Rhule and the GM are the ones who haven’t properly invested in the OL and QB spot. a new OC isn’t going to matter.
-
Philly loss was worse than this one. But this game was only close because the D gift wrapped points for the O. Too much on the Ds shoulders. We need to invest in the OL and QB. The Rhule/Fitt era has been about investing in everthing else. Which isn’t how you build a team in the modern day NFL.
-
Sam will be Sam. we can improve the OL and the results will improve. Just like there was a bump from him coming to Car from NY and an improved environment. But just like Teddy…he is what he is. He isn’t a great QB. That’s in his DNA. And you can put a great OL in front of him and his Sam Darnold moments will still exist….because he has always been that guy. Here, NY and USC. He is Jake minus the great intangibles Jake had early on. And the intangibles were huge for Jake.

DJ is on pace to have his best season…by far. 1400 yards, 13 TDs. And that is just projecting over 16 games and not 17. Which would be the 3rd best by a Panther statistically following only 89’s 2005 and Moose’s 2004 (if only using 16 games and not 17 as the bar). I mean he is on pace to at least challenge for the best individual season in franchise history. That’s blowing up in my mind.

No real issue there. Without CMC, I think they look to be a slightly better team. that’s under the assumption they have their top 3 offensive player makers
-
CMC trending the wrong direction? Not practicing today...
CRA replied to SgtJoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Joe Brady can’t successfully and consistently scheme around 4 horrible offensive line paired with an average QB. No OC can. and all of that with his entire time as OC with the highest paid and best player in CMC on the shelf almost every week. we don’t have a Joe Brady problem. -
Yeah, we will run the ball better and be better offensively with CMC. Which impacts the D. That should help the D stay off the field more and be fresher. And and if the O runs through CMC I would think the odds of turnovers decrease vs a CMC less O. So it decreases the odds of the D getting in bad spots off turnovers. bad offense generally works against a D. Good offense generally helps them. Just a variation of that thought process.
-
No CMC and they have Cook 31-20 Vikings CMC 27- 24 Panthers
-
Matt Rhule next week when Joe asks a follow up
-
Was obvious then too.
