I think you get less emotionally attached as you get older. I do enjoy a good exciting football game though. I'd rather watch a legit random exciting game (whether that is big plays or some storyline/narrative that makes it cool)....than just watch the Panthers squeak out a random win that doesn't really mean anything.

Carolina football has been pretty boring for some time now. The entire Rhule era has been a snooze fest and so was the end of Ron's. That is what happens when your team is built around a RB in today's NFL.

Where Are We Really -- One Season and 7 Games Into It...

1 INT, 1 fumble. 2 turnovers. Sam has been so busy showing his struggles as a passer of late some have forgetton how much he fumbles. I think he is due to remind folks of that.

reality is, that largely is the NFL. Coaches that don't have good QBs generally look bad. Comes down to finding a QB how far they can take you. Pete Carroll was talking this week about what his career would have looked like if he didn't have Russell Wilson. His answer? He probably wouldn't of lasted in the NFL long. Which is why if you don't have a QB. That should be priority one. We should of been adding bodies and buying lottery tickets the moment Rhule walked in the door. Draft a kid. Add guys like Menshew. Start having potential possiblities. Adding one vet that never was good enough.....isn't playing the QB lottery the right way IMO.

Rivera and Fox were both in the postseason by year 3. Both found their QB by year 2.

So you care at 1 million, 100 million, 1 billion, 5 billion, 10 billion? But 15 is the magic number where you no longer care? If Tepper just cares about winning football games at this point…why did he change the turf again? Equally passionate about multi use stadiums?
-
Couldn’t disagree more. And that’s okay. But you don’t become a billionaire by not caring about money/business
-
I do want our next HC to be offensive. Modern day NFL offensive. That’s was never Rhule.
-
I doubt Sam is burning too hard over that. I mean, turnovers are what he is known for dating back to college. It’s not like this is something unusual.
-
Thanks to covid I think Tepper’s year 2 saw almost 100 million less come in. That’s the stuff he is most focused on. The big dollars. People thinking Rhule is safe for 7 years no matter what because Tepper wouldn’t eat 3 mill a year or whatever on his contract is silly. If the current trajectory is going to start costing him tens and tens of millions each year….eating some money on a HC is just business.
-
Chip Kelly. Signed a nice 4 year deal with SF. And then fired. It happens. if it becomes a real poo show the numbers Tepper will care most about is the revenue Carolina brings in and what he projects it out as going forward. That’s hundreds of millions of dollars he is focused on. That’s more important than eating 3 or 4 million a year on a fired HC. Whatever the offset works out to be. I’m sure Rhule could get a college HC gig pretty quick.
-
Probably because it’s the NFL. And that type stuff happens when things go south.
-
Well, offset language is pretty standard though. How screwed Tepper would be if he fired him…would likely depend on what Rhule’s next job looked like. But yeah I am sure Tepper is learning lots of lessons. Even if you loved Rhule, that contract was always stupid. At least on face value and there isn’t something not standard in it.

It’s called a rebuild. Product on Sunday however looks like an orchestrated tank job though. Seems problematic.

So it’s a no? Rhule won’t be on the hot seat if he goes 3-14.
-
I’ll take that as a yes if you won’t answer. If the current trajectory continues and we win 3 games….Rhule will be on the hot seat. That’s the NFL. I think if he doesn’t win 5 it gets pretty warm. Seat gets warmer too if he has start firing his staff.
-
So if the current trajectory continues and we win 3 games…you say his seat wouldn’t be hot? That’s a question. Follow up question as well. Does Brady get fired in that scenario? And would be on offensive rebuild one or two at that point?
-
Not For Long (NFL) Everyone doesn’t get 2 or 3 or 4 years. If the season continues at it’s current pace….it would be impossible for it not be hot. 3 wins and a shitshow isn’t the where year 2 of this rebuild is suppose to be. Year isn’t over yet. But he most defiantly has to change the current trajectory.
