I mean that just isn't true. @ Steelers on MNF is a tall task. And the Bears offense pretty signficantly out performed the Steelers by just about every way you can compare offenses. Pass yards, rush yards, yards per play. And the more Fields settled into the game the bigger a problem he was for the Steelers. He had a lot of impressive throws that didn't just occur on the final drive. I mean, rookie Fields is progressing exactly in the manner you would want him to right now. That's all it is about with him right now.

He had some good plays that don’t show up on the stat sheet too. Like the TD to Graham tonight in the corner of the endzone. Dumb penalty wiped it out.

Rhule math isn’t really holding… Darnold + Horn > Fields? I mean Darnold has a negative value and DBs have been falling from the sky. Including the a top 3 DB.

Big drive by Fields to take the lead with a minute left. He keeps taking steps forward each and every week. last two weeks he is looking pretty good for rookie of late.

No doubt numbers lie and deceive at times. But there is a lot of bad OL play week to week. And a lot to QBs making it work.

Look at the bottom half of the league… the #1 pass O is #28 in pass block win rate the #6 pass O is #27 the #10 pass O is #22 the #3 pass O is #19 the #9 pass O is #21 It’s almost like we have a QB problem and OLs not holding is just the NFL to a large degree

He might suck and do nothing. But you can’t learn anything about him right now IMO in 2021. If we want to talk about a coach being responsible for the offensive mess it starts and ends with Matt Rhule IMO. but I do believe Brady gets fired. That’s what HCs do. Sean McDermott was once dealt a poo sandwich and fired because of what the FO did too. He wasn’t actually the problem with the Philly D. He just couldn’t scheme around the lack of talent.

He is Joe Brady. Neither of those remotely compare. I will assume most on the outside will largely look at what he did in 2020 when he had a functional QB. That earned him 5 HC interviews. So the NFL was at least impressed. The same NFL world knows Sam is a dumpster fire and has been and that we have no OL….and that is what he got dealt this year. so I think they factor all that in and the outside will view him better than Panther fans.

Payton has been calling plays in the NFL for 2 decades. Brady has a year under his belt but yes, Payton is much better. Payton also had his play calling duties yanked from him and the HC took over playcalling when he was OC with the Giants.

Yeah, they can flip on some random tape right before they call a game and then call out a poo ton of plays. That’s the whole point in a nutshell. It’s not a rare feat. Happens every week to almost every team. it’s not like they had to spend a decade in a division vs someone to maybe figure something out. People are arguing it that well yeah a HOFer like Luke spends a career studying a divisional opponent like Sean Payton might be able call out plays like it is some rare feat. Now Luke can probably call out more than most. It’s was a science to him.

Luke wasn't actually unique in that though. He was just our guy. So we hear about folks talking about him doing it. Players all over the league have guys calling out plays for there teammates. Remember the Clay Matthews/Cam exchange? I mean Clay had it all down in reality. The NFL mics just happend to pick it all up. That stuff is routine in the NFL. The Panthers just barely tweaked the play Matthews knew what we were doing. It was clear design pass to CMC. It was just a slight variation of it. And CMC could of just kept running the wheel route....it would have been just as open in the end as the audibled/variation route despite Matthews signaling it was coming to him. it's also why Romo can sit in the both or Peyton and Eli watch a game together on MNF and just call out a bunch of plays with a high rate of success for any team that shows up. And none of those guys have studied those offenses. They spent a career studying defenses. It's the NFL. There is only so much stuff guys can run on people and the scenario is just going to dictate certian plays. Every time we went to a Super Bowl....our opponents often knew what we were doing then too. We just had the talent where we could beat them with it. Teams often know what Peyton or Brady were doing all these years too. Could they they stop them being successful is another story. The problem for Carolina is we don't have a QB or OL to pull off hardly anything. and you should be able to run plays that a defense knows is coming. That's a lot of what running the ball is. Pass game too. Boils down to math and forcing a defender to commit to someone....and going where he didn't. Doesn't matter if he knows the play. He is forced to commit where the math puts someone open. But that requries a QB that can figure that out. we are too predictable of late, but our talent IMO has forced us into that. But calling out plays in general isn't some oddity in the NFL.

well, if the implosion starts earlier it technically can get worse. So instead of it being within reach at the half and ending up 18 or 22 points loss....well, you get blown the heck out super early. So instead of a 24-6 loss where we delusionaly think we have a chance for a large part of the game...the opponent puts up 48 on you quick. 48-3 feels worse. Especially when they are running out the clock for an entire quarter out of pity because it was over even earlier than the Giants or Pats game. It can always get worse.

Joe Brady can dial up winner plays. But if Sam can't do what he is suppose to, bails, throws a bad ball, etc. Well, Joe Brady is trash. I mean it was just a week ogo we had former quarterbacks detaling how Sam can't do some of the most basic things a NFL QB is asked to do.

well, imagine if Joe Brady isn't a main problem. Yeah, he needs some situational work but that again is to be expected. So what happens if you scapegoat Joe Brady this early and then Rhule inserts one of his Baylor buddies as the interim OC....and it gets even worse (which it can). Brady is attempting to hold back the implosion until as late as possible right now. So it could come earlier in games and be worse.

He did though. It requires a really bad opponent once you dumb it down so much. Like Atlanta.

The assistant QB coach and the passing game coordinator are both Baylor guys. That's how you know Joe Brady and the QB coach will two of the first get thrown under the bus. Maybe let your OC and not your DC pick the QB next time.

this is all true. But the nature of the beast says, Rhule will start sacrifcing position coaches and coordinators. So the OL coach, QB coach, and Brady are the the ones being talked about to hit the under side of the bus first. Because the front office isn't going to take it all on the chin. That doesn't happen in the NFL with a season like this.

this won't be great news. This is how they set the path for Sam's return next year. Only instead of being the man it will be a comptetiion this time.

Oh, yes, this is setting up so comically predictable. Everything is about self preservation and saving face. Sam and Rhule knew all the details of that shoulder before game. Sam was clear he knew the details and didn't want to talk about it. He was given a chance not to suck again. If he didn't suck? Well, they just keep on keeping on for another week. But he did. So they IR him. Rhule then can claim at the end, well you know Sam did get hurt. Yeah, he didn't play great in a couple games but you know the injury and all that. If he hadn't gotten hurt we probably could of gotten him back to what he was at the start of the year. Which was great. Remember that. Insert a bunch of nonense.

Teddy wasn’t a dumpster fire QB. The offense could consistently move with a Teddy level QB. He was risk adverse but could read the field and Brady could give him stuff. And almost everyone had their most productive season as a pro. Brady is forced to dial things down to not even a rookie level at this point with Sam. Only shot. Yeah, it is predictable at that point. The only other option Brady has is to give Sam things he clearly can’t handle and the game be over by half

You put a dumpster fire QB on the field and I can predict a poo ton of plays by an OC from my couch. especially if the opposing coach has admitted publicly he can’t pass and needs to run and play D to not get blown out.
