as a Clemson fan I hope it doesn't happen. Venables is the key coach to Clemson's success. No clue if he will be a good HC. Different skill sets. But Venables is the best DC in college football.

Play well or play better than who we have had out there? I mean the bar is pretty low after Sunday. Just for fan curiousity alone, I'd like to see if the current staff really has that right.

It isn't fake news their is a big Venables push going on from high profile OU folks. and Venables has OU ties.....and IMO is easily the best coordinator in college football. Which makes him a prime candidate. He also has one of his sons all the way out of the Clemson program and the other almost out. And his sons were keeping him there.

I hope he goes there. I like hating on Notre Dame. That just makes it even more fun too. I don’t see Urban making it two actual seasons in the NFL.

No point even talking about FL with Cam. He had like 6 pass attempts. You called him an average QB at Auburn. I disagreed. and Trevor sucking with Urban with the Jags.....doesn't really mean anything when talking about college. Trevor wasn't an average college QB either.

Trevor Lawerence averaged 8 yards per pass attempt at Clemson Cam Newton wasn't average at Auburn. He was a one man freakshow and owner of one of the greatest football seasons in the history of college football. What he did in the pros has nothing to do with how his college career is viewed. It's like The Golden Calf of Bristol. The Golden Calf of Bristol is a college GOAT. A NFL chump. But the fact he couldn't play in the NFL doesn't mean he wasn't great in college.

Cam wasn't average at Auburn. Cam had 30 TDs in the air with a 66% pass completion. Which is what Trevor Lawerence averaged per season.

I want the Panthers to draft a young QB. That has been my stance ever since they parted with Cam. But I am not a big fan of Matt Rhule and his staff doing it.

Writing was already on the wall this offseason....when Rhule constantly told us how he wanted other coaches to run the joint practices entirely (and he was basically just along for the ride) and praised other teams as being something they hoped to be.

Perryman has been very good this year overall. and yeah, he isn't a coverage LB. If you ask to him to cover Travis Kelce you are going to have a bad time. It's like saying Brian Burns is trash because he doesn't play the run well. It's up to coaches to put them in the right spots for success. No one is claiming Perryman is the goat. But we can't stop teams that lineup and pound it right at us. That is literally what Perryman does well. Not sure why you wouldn't of preferred to just keep that on the roster.

I like a SC coach to get the job but at a different school. Brent Venables IMO is the easy call for OU and it would also officially mark the end of Clemson’s dominance

The Ron/Cam era ran it’s course. That’s just football. Ron is still my favorite Panther HC. Largely because he is a decent man. Got no hate to throw his way after all was said and done here.

Kelly has played in 2 college football playoff games and 1 conference title game while at ND…..and been laughed out of the stadium in all 3. he won’t last long at LSU

That’s why I specifically referenced the run game. Which is what he is. A run stopper and thumper LB. Which is where we need help.

Rhule doesn’t need to go to LSU. He needs to go back to college and coach outside the power 5….where he can lose to basically anyone of note like he did last time. Still can’t believe that weak college resume got him a NFL gig.

Go to think Tepper is banking on some crossover for his soccer club. As well as just the casual too. If his brand becomes being an incompetent owner….got to think that is going to impact the soccer too. and I’m not sure Tepper can fill the football stands next year without….something happening. No amount of training camp talk is going to get me to pay for Rhule year 3 at this point.

the last draft was the one to pickup QB talent. But Rhule said Sam + a DB is better than going the logical route for a team that kicked Cam to the curb. and if there is a top 10 worthy QB in this draft class….we wouldn’t be able to draft him. A QB needed team ahead of us would. and we aren’t in position to trade away any more draft picks for players. Can’t build a team with no picks.

I don’t see why people believe Fitterer is anything more than another bad hire by Tepper. Tepper has been pretty consistent with everyone he has brought in. I just don’t get a guy that picked up Sam’s 5th year, traded away all our draft picks, etc….is the guy with the right vision to lead us. And if you blame that all on Rhule? It still doesn’t speak much about our GM. He watched it all happen and signed off.
