Rhule on why he didn’t use Cam on the goal line lol Because Sam can do the same thing lol clown show
-
They don’t have their top 2 RBs. Lost 2 of their top 3 WRs. Big injuries on D too. defense is facing a neutered Tampa team.
-
well, Cam Newton gets a TD on the goal line. That was 7 points. But Rhule needed Sammy boy to have some glory. Can’t let Cam have it. That was Rhule calling the game based on who he does and doesn’t want to have the success in this game. Not calling it based on how a coach should to win a game. that’s one example. I think trick plays on key 3rd downs are bad personally. But that’s me. Pull that out on earlier downs. I’d prefer a QB and not a WR on 3rd and long.
-
lol. Heck no. The last game at BOA was the Cam to honor Cam. Rhule didn’t. This game is at Tampa.
-
Tampa is out there 1, 2, and 3 WR. Out their 1 and 2 RB. Also out key pieces to their D. these are the type games Carolina has won all season. Either the opponent is starting a rookie in their first start…..or the team just got fugged and is missing all their key people.
-
Chud overrated. and he basically took every trick play Norv ran in SD…and crammed them in a tiny window.
-
That doesn’t even make sense. We aren’t going to be able to hire a rockstar OC because we have a lame duck HC….with no QB or OL. So you are going to give Rhule a bunch of time to prove he can’t do it and then do what fire? Fire him months from now?
-
McVay is a smart dude. I’m sure he would give his buddy some advice. he would come here and call plays for Sam Darnold and Rhule would fire him right before he gets fired. I don’t see how coming to Carolina is attractive for a guy like him. I think we end up hiring some old and washed up playcaller on the backside of his career looking for a one year check. Because that’s all this job is.
-
#1 priority should be building an OL and QB.
-
It’s about cost. You can’t over invest in guys who are only pass rushers. Means teams with well built OLs will bully you.
-
again, if you want to claim a long time reporter is lying about the 20 guys inside have at it. and again, I assume all the Jags reporters were lying too. everyone that is being intellectually honest knows players can’t put their names on the complaints. Arguing they can is just nonsensical.
-
Last time we took a draft out of a coaches hands was the 2010 draft. I agree we need to do it if Rhule stays. But you essentially end up with a draft class no one coach wanted.
-
Feel free to argue a long time Panther reporter is lying about the 20 speaking on it…. The Jacksonville reporters were lying too about what everyone inside thought about Urban too…..right?
-
You have a long time Carolina reporter with 20 sources telling you… and when Rhule is longer the HC (whenever that is)….people will then put their names on it. Which is all pretty standard. and Cam one day will keep it “a buck”. As he told you, he won’t do that right now.

Again, all depends on the price. Being dimensional makes you a double edged sword. you can’t pay those type players like aren’t one dimensional. we are 19th in points allowed. We aren’t the #2 defense. We happen to be ranked 2nd in yardage allowed. If we had the #2 actual defense in the NFL (with a legit HC) like you claim…..we wouldn’t be 2-11 over our last 13 games. Bad offense or not.
-
Glad you agree Rhule’s college resume was weak and he hasn’t shown diddly in the pros yet.
-
price matters. So does not being one dimensional. We actually generated decent pressure last season too. Didn’t always equal sacks but the pressure numbers were good. Burns generates pressure. But Burns being so one dimensional matters too. Especially when we look at what to do with him later.
-
Jags should of kept Urban then. Loyalty and patience. nothing about Rhule career in Carolina or back to college says he can get it done. He college resume was weak too.
-
Then we should let Reddick walk. He is a one dimensional LB. Too high of odds Rhule would be gone at some point in 2022. A one dimensional LB isn't something that fits every scheme like a Luke or Peppers. Then you have an overpaid LB that might not fit the next scheme to be worth the money.
-
Even at a discount. Gilmore is one of the top 3 DBs in the game. and we have no offense. Doesn’t make sense to tie cap up in a player like him IMO. That cap and resources should go to building up the roster.
-
He wouldn’t. He is a DB for hire. And a top 3 one at that rebuilding teams with no QB and OL shouldn’t dump money at guys like that
-
Depends on the cost. I don’t want a comically overpaid pass rusher at the LB spot. Especially with high odds that we bring in a new staff after 2022.
-
Every good QB we faced lead their team to 30+ points. and Gilmore makes no sense going forward.
-
Reddick is a fine player. You really want to see what Matt Rhule will pay an actually good Temple player? I don’t.
-
What is Matt Rhule best win in Matt Rhule’s entire career? College and pros are all on the table. The hurricane displaced and covid depleted Winston Saints at home that MIGHT finish with a winning record?
