  1. I want Sam and PJ to be our QBs. I want to draft a OT. I don’t want a new overpaid FA QB that we know isn’t the answer BUT would likely spill over into impacting the 2023 cap. Matt Rhule and Sam Darnold aren’t winning. Just got to pray PJ doesn’t start too many games because we all know PJ ain’t losing a game. Ever. Neva lost!
  2. and the knock on Rhule is he puts his thumbprint on everything and is a micromanager. Which seems like a big problem if you hire someone like that and he isn't actually good. probably why we saw no difference in the O when they fired Joe Brady. Same O. Same problems.
  3. I'd say the odds are that Tepper's approach simply lands him a better deal in the end. but I think there will be a lot more unhappy people given what elected officials will end up doing to save this.
  4. I wouldn't call him a neutral 3rd party. Or York County. I mean, they all have skin in the game. From the very beginining, he was one of the biggest promoters of this project.
  5. So what makes one county officials word more credible than one city officials word? RH official was talking about his direct dealings with Tepper Sports. 2 sides of that convo. RH's and Tepper Sports. How does the county official know RH is lying? I would assume the accusation the RH offical made would actually be pretty easy to prove if it were true or made up. I mean, ultimately if Tepper Sports wasn't providing the needed info there is going to be a paper trail. Which is why I said time and more info would be needed before you people give Tepper a complete pass in this clusterfug. *unless there is new info I assume this was a comment made during the pause several weeks ago and isn't something new out this week.
  6. well, that is my issue. And people defending some billionaire in this scenario just isn't something I am cool with. He intentionally came into SC to work with the SC Gov., State House and local politicians to fleece taxpayers. Yes, voters have to hold the politicans accountable. Ultiamtely that is what has to happens and we do a poor job of it. But folks defending Tepper are part of the problem too. Guys like Tepper are a problem. and the real "problem" with the project, is probably the fact some local politicans refused to keep bending the knee to a billionaire continuing to lean and fleece them. I assume COVID drastically changed the numbers and Tepper wasn't going to budge. This isn't even about the Panthers at that point. Just an uber rich dude doing the type stuff that got him obscenely wealthy.
  7. only because you choose to assume everything RH says is false. RH said they repeatedly asked Tepper for needed info for the bonds and Tepper Sports was not providing it....then Tepper Sports was upset for RH not having the bonds. and Tepper Sports hasn't said that claim was false. then RH claims Tepper Sports said not to issue them and wanted to pursue other avenues. and Tepper Sports hasn't said that claim was false. and that is just some basic stuff that has been said. We don't know all these talks. But it sure sounds like the newb football owner operates like a newb builder too. So again, I say we need more info before you absolve Tepper from being a player in helping create this shitshow. Tepper Sports has been asked about stuff like this. They have refused comment. Yet somehow you know the answers. Please feel free to share how you know what Tepper won't talk about.
  8. Sounds just as likely Tepper wasn't following through with all his obligations either. That's the claim. And it's one Tepper refeuses to address. Well, he refuses to address any question that gets directed toward Tepper Sports.
  9. Politcians and the uber wealthy just straight up stealing money. It's kind of a thing. Both should be called out. That's what they do. I got no use for the couple folks acting like Tepper is being done wrong. Tepper intentionally came to steal money with the aid of politicans, intentionally got into a deal w/ a city that he knew would struggle, and appears to go about business in a very horrible and dysfuncitonal manner This whole scam for Tepper started at the state house with the Governor and folks in Columbia. Society holding people accountable would be acknowledging what Tepper was doing in the first place and shutting him down. Same for all the others like him. They are all one sided deals for the uber wealthy at the expense of taxpayers.
  10. Yeah, so the secondary and pass D coach thinks the talent should be where he is at. Ok. That’s not surprising. I’d want Chinn too. I bet the LB coach believes he could be an All Pro LB too. I like Chinn more down in the box. He looked special there. He didn’t last season.
  11. Playoffs 4 times in a 5 year window and won the NFCS 3 straight years. it took a minute for them to hit their run but his teams weren’t like Rhule’s early on. Ron’s teams generally got better as the season went on. Ron was solid. Just wasn’t a homerun.
  12. We didn’t wait 7 years too late to fire Ron. Ron had a decent run. Then it came to a close. Like Foxy.
  13. I have more faith in his ability to navigate to that than building a football team or being a developer
  14. David Tepper is like the Matt Rhule of owners. The Sam Darnold of owners if you prefer.
  15. I’d be happy to let David Tepper manage my retirement portfolio but just because you are good at something and made a poo ton of money at it….doesn’t mean you will be good at anything you just happen to choose to go do outside of your lane. Some might. But it isn’t some universal truth. I know a couple brilliant people with more money than I could dream of….who are complete idiots when it comes to so many other avenues outside of their lanes. As you noted….see Jordan. A GOAT in many aspects of life. You don’t need to search for a lesson in poor ownership when Tepper is your guy. I got no faith in Tepper in this world because everything he has touched has turned to poo and he has been a nonstop train wreck to date with all things Panthers. Comically bad.
  16. probably. But voters won’t get it right. Because you have to include folks like Gov McMaster at the top of the list and at the state house too.
  17. well, I would imagine Tepper would still be willing to totally screw RH/SC if this move presents that opportunity. I would suspect if it blows up...Tepper will wouldn't just walk away. He would sue them to get his money back. I think Tepper has the pockets to contiuniously put RH in horrific positions.
  18. It's not over. I think Tepper in the end has good odds of screwing the city, county, state. It's what big money does. Charlotte will be next. I know people like to think NC is somehow superior to idiotic SC. But I think this is a prelude to a bigger fleecing.
  19. I don't know. We barely know anything at this point. That's my point. So until we know more, both sides are at fault. We just don't know to what extent each side is to blame for. I got little use for the politican or the mega wealthy in this context. Those two dancing are always a problem.
  20. generally with gigantic clusterfugs of this scale, it's not one side 100% at fault. But view things from that lense if you want. I don't do that with this example here and I try not to do that elsehwere in life. It's how people get off the hook and repeat things. And also how people get overly blamed and overly punished. Not a fan of either.
  21. Nah, I can give heat to more than one person. That generally is what should happen in a large percentage of scenarios. You hold everyone responsible that deserves some blame and do it propotionately. Generally in our society we are content with having one person take the blame and be the poster child. Take the football team. We don't just suck because of Tepper or Rhule or Sam. We suck because a lot of people are responsible. Fire Rhule today and it isn't like you can pretend Tepper and Sam weren't players in the mess.
  22. We know a fraction of what has happened. A small fraction. And yet you want everyone to quickly deem him 100% not at fault for this giant clusterfug. Yeah, I'm not in a rush to make such a giant delcaration. and yeah, that last comment was the mega wealthy in general and how their dance with our governments. They cause tremendous problems in this country. And I they are problem just like the elected politicans.
