We do have lots of holes. I like the odds of trying to really solve one with the #6. Quality prospect over quantity approach. I think this is an OT draft. these clowns shouldn’t of traded way all our picks. I won’t throw a fit over a DL or OL though. But these clowns probably trade down a bunch and go with the quantity approach. I do think Rhule wants a rookie QB who he can thrust out there in some face saving move. To play the “of course we suck card” he is a rookie.
-
We have had 5 picks in the first 2 rounds under Rhule and 4 of the 5 have been defense. Including 2 top 10 defensive players. he is right.
-
I hope he doesn’t. I think people got too giddy about his trade downs last go round. take a premier OT prospect and call it a day. You shouldn’t of traded away your picks. Lessons learned.

Phil Snow getting 3 straight top 10 picks?

NFL teams could figure out the basics in year 1 though. He wasn’t throwing crazy stuff out there. The core of it all had been around for a long time. Teddy was a functional QB though. Just flawed. And Brady is a passing OC. He needs functional QB. Was Brady good? Don’t think he had time to develop into good yet. But I don’t think he was the problem. Problem was a green passing OC that was given the worst QB in the NFL. Sam stinks. So you had a green OC dumbing stuff down for Sam and Sam can’t be depended on for anything. It was evident in camp IMO they were worried about Sam. He was not throwing downfield in camp reportedly. All checkdowns. He sucked and Matt Rhule and Joe Brady can’t make a bad QB work. Great coaches struggle with such.
-
I still don't think Joe Brady was the problem. the QB and 3 of our WRs all posted career seasons. Teddy just wouldn't pull the trigger when needed. Was Brady green? Sure. But Joe Brady's track record pre Darnold in the NFL and college was impressive until Sam came to town. Then Sam Darnold came and did what he does. I fail to see how McAdoo is going to alter the impact of what Sam Darnold does. Sam isn't a MVP/Super Bowl QB. Which is what McAdoo had success with and they were that before he arrived as OC.

I believe he said he has proven he can play QB at a high level. If the worst starter over the last 4 seasons says that then it is cherry pick city… so let’s just do it with PJ and call him the GOAT
-
Well, I endorse our QBs being Sam and PJ this season. I don’t want them to draft one. I want a decent HC and I want him to draft a QB. Build the OL
-
Sure we have. In college. And was a human turnover machine and bonehead just like behind a weak OL
-
It’s the NFL and he has been paid millions to be horrible at his job. He can be shat on. It comes with the millions and millions of dollars.

did the D improve if you look at how the 2021 D performed against good offenses (with good QBs)? That’s what matters. we played a high number of bad teams with bad QBs last season. And the D feasted on them. It distorted things. And it’s why Brady, Dak, Allen and good teams did whatever they wanted to our defense. We still don’t know how good Horn actually is either. His 3 full games were against bad QBs. We should of kept Gilmore over Jackson and paired Horn with Gilmore for a multitude of reasons. We lost our best CB and pass rusher from 2021.
-
Quantifying matters though. I mean if you list the 2020 opposing QBs vs the 2021 opposing QBs? It’s pretty significant IMO. Plus, the handful of good QBs and offenses we faced in 2021….did pretty much whatever they wanted against our defense. Which was talked about a lot on this board last season. and the 2 best players on the 2021 defense just walked out the door.
-
But that’s really a mix of stuff. Part of that is also the fact we played a much weaker slate of opposing QBs last season vs the one prior. Last seasons D was overrated statistically to a degree because of so many weak opposing QBs.

Tepper already said the new stadium in Charlotte will only be built with him paying 1/3 of the cost. He must not dislike government money too much. -

I mean, for some people to be so confident RH is lying about everything....it doesn't seem like anyone actually has paid attention to what they have said. they detailed the type info they requested and why it would be requested. I think RH was in over their head. Tepper appears to of wanted to make sure it stayed that way. That's the way it reads to me. RH is at fault. I just don't think the billionaire gets off the hook for his involvement until all the facts are on the table. -

local government probably is tougher to deal with. that probably is true. Furthrer out you go the easier to get what you want. Just look at how quick the governor made stuff happen for Tepper. -

They advised they needed more info. And yeah, it's not unreasonable to imagine additional info might be needed than just what was made avaliable to the public. Pretty sure when they made the accusation they also cited the type info that they were requesting from Tepper. The city doesn't just pull bonds out of thin air. again, I am not attempting to universally defend RH. They are going to be in the wrong. It's just odd for some to dig in so aggressisvely to Tepper having no fault in this mess. I'd say the odds are low but time will tell. Well, time will probably only tell if the deal never happens. -

yeah, I believe he ran and lost twice to the current mayor he also has been the most vocal and pro Panther facility guy in the area. hard to call him a neutral 3rd party. In addition to the fact York County taxpayers got skin in the game too. -

they weren't needing Tepper to tell them how to secure the bonds. That isn't the accusation. To get the bonds requires submitting information and specific details about the actual project. The accusation is Tepper wasn't supplying the specifics needed and was part of the problem. The same guy who apparently routinely goes dark and doesn't say poo about anything. Another accusation. And something we have seen elsewhere from Tepper. -

and reporters went to Tepper Sports and they refused to comment. It's literally just the reporting of what has been said and not said. he calls it fake news because everything that RH says he chooses to believe is all lies. It might be. But there claims if true.....would be documented. Which was the point made. So until all the details come out you can't remove Tepper completely from this given the accusations and his refusal to address them. Tepper has proven he is awful outside of his lane. And this project is also outside his lane. He hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt that all accusations against him are false especially when he refuses to address them. -
What are some positives to come out of the Tepper era?

He then went on to the playoffs 4 out of 5 seasons. 3 straight NFCS titles and had a Super Bowl team. what are the odds you fire Ron after 2 seasons and someone does better than that? Ron at least drafted a raw and unique QB and the team did stuff no one was doing. So we took some lumps early and finished strong each year. Which is why he deserved to stay unlike Rhule I’ll gladly take another Ron run. To win a Super Bowl requires the ball bouncing your way. Getting calls. Etc. But Ron had a good run. Best team in the NFL in 2015. Just didn’t get the one that matters most. Ron was a Cam guy. Only NFL coach who has been. I don’t think you can say a new coach would have had the same type 2015 Ron did. Doesn’t work that way. Ron let Cam be Cam. Which had its flaws. But Ron let him be special and welcomed it. -
This doesn’t get said enough. Teddy had a career year. So did every WR. Nothing was figured out. Teddy just wouldn’t make all the needed throws because he is too conservative. we built a Sam Darnold O. Sam sucks. He can’t do very basic stuff.
-
Rebuild? Rhule’s first move was to reset the market and make a RB the highest paid at the position. He spent a top 10 pick on a CB despite having no OL or QB He traded away his 2022 draft picks for the worst starting QB in the NFL. we aren’t in year 3 of a rebuild. If this is a rebuild the word has lost it’s base meaning.
-
You talking about the guy who put turf down at BoA? the mega billionaire who says he will only pay 1/3 of the cost of the new stadium he one day will come at Charlotte for? the guy who is bringing joke Rhule (who reports at least say he is embarrassed by) back for a 3rd season because of his stupid initial contract?
-
I don’t think anyone was ignored last year. But the reporting on Rhule is he is simply a micromanager that is too involved. Zebras don’t really change their stripes. Rhule gonna Rhule.
