  1. I mean, Jake Delhomme played QB on a running football and we hadn't evolved into the passing era really yet like today. Jake wasn't carried to the Super Bowl. He didn't carry the team on his back.....but the cardiac cats were the cardiac cats in part because of Jake Delhomme. Jake Delhomme had weird magic. Saw it week 1 all the way through the Super Bowl. Until Tommy Jone snatched his elbow and soul....he was actually a pretty good gunslinger type QB. He was never great. But he wasn't bad.
  2. Tepper does. End of the day it is the entertainement business. And Carolina does have a PR issue and excitement issue right now. Which is why I have always felt confident they wouldn't be able to just walk away from this draft with just 1 pick in 3 rounds. They got nothing to sell the fans. Nothing. No hope. Everything in that building knows how they are viewed. And we know they know. Smartest move IMO isn't mortaging future picks (with potentitally a HC that might not see another year) to grab a QB in a weak class. Carolina says a lot of stuff. There actions to date haven't been the team that wants to slowly and traditionally build this thing from the ground up.
  3. 2nd seems high. I'd gladly take it. But I'd be pissed if my team gave up a 2nd for Robby at this stage.
  4. I just think the are looking to add some excitment. OL Is a great pick but it only sells with the hardcore crowd. Panthers got a PR problem right now. I think it is likely would be a QB. But I could see it not being one. But I think that would then signal a move for Baker or Jimmy G to be added to the roster.
  5. Robby makes sense. I just wonder what his value actually projects as. A 3rd or 4th? He basically is a vet with a pretty established ceiling at this point.
  6. I'd like to know how they plan to get into the 2nd. Every pick with have in this draft would get us about half way in value per the chart to the top of the 2nd round.
  7. Cam’s just shot. Cam always dealt well with pressure. It’s just a DNA thing. Sam makes some of his worse decisions with time and protection. The first read has to be there and be open or you always will regret Sam Darnold in the end.
  8. It won’t fix what is in between Sam’s ears. All Sam’s problems exist with time and protection. Always have. Since college.
  9. Almost the entire offense had career seasons in 2020. Brady had situational playcalling issues because he was green. Brady wasn’t actually Sam’s problem. Sam was Brady’s. Sam is an O killer.
  10. Well only 1 QB went in round 1. So there will be QBs around throughout all round 2. I think our front office will struggle not to trade picks in order to have something to sell the average fan on. Which they shouldn’t.
  11. Well, just lock our 2023 1st and 2nd round picks in a vault IMO. Don’t trade those 2. I like the QBs projected next year better. If we naturally had picks I’d be okay drafting one of these QBs.
  12. Cam is done IMO. The talk from Carolina IMO is just friendly talk to try to makeup for how bad the last departure was. But Rhule wouldn’t even play Cam over Sam last year. Think that did it. Cam will just hurt his legacy here. Go be a speciality option for a good team if you want to play anymore.
  13. Hopefully. I just feel given the state of things they would always find a way into the 2nd to try to improve the morale of things via more players to promote to us. LT was a great pick. But that probably only sells to us hardcore fans
  14. Don’t trade our 2023 picks to get it into the 2nd round. Take a good day 1 and don’t taint it with a day 2 mortgaging our future picks. You did good. Keep it that way.
  15. That would mean future draft picks. I’m a no on that.
  16. only hope is Tepper has gotten so ticked at Rhule that the GM is in charge. And it really does appear this org knows Rhule is at least some sort of an issue. It isn't normal to hide a NFL HC like this org is doing. But the problem with the GM is we might end up with another CB at #6 as he tries to recreate the LOB. I don't actually think that will happen but I do worry about him getting too trade happy.
  17. Tepper - Rome wasn't built in a day. You have to be patient. We want to build this the right way from the ground up. Reality - Panthers wildly go after anyone and everyone. Get rejected. Then wildly go after bum QBs after getting rejected and over pay them and mortgage our future/draft picks in the process. They go around and rent one year vets like Gilmore, Reddick, etc like a championship team would do. I mean, if you are trying to slowly build this things. Gilmore and Reddick are just rep stealers.
  18. Yeah, they skipped over that in the presser when they said the Jags corner was our 3rd rounder. Apparently, the GM didn't want to brag about the very good QB we got in the 2nd round. Thomas Davis is currently scheduled to announce our 2nd round pick. I assume they really want Thomas Davis to get that opportunity. These drafts continue to be about making up for trading away our picks.
  19. I'd say he falls inbetween David and Derek Carr. Like a Carr Bros love child. That's what Kenny Pickett is. And that isn't a going to work
  20. I think the only way we see the 2nd round is via our 1st round pick in this draft or going to our 2023 picks. Might could get in without our first but it would take a couple picks.
  21. I don't think we own a pick in this draft you can package with Robby to get into the 2nd round.
  22. I predict we trade down and a top tier OT falls to us when we do. We end up with a QB and NOT one the top tier OL prospects after 2 rounds...but we do get an OT. Matt Rhule then claims we would have taken the QB at #6 so it was super genius move.
