Robby or Robbie Anderson no show OTA’s
CRA replied to slumdogmillionaire's topic in Carolina Panthers
Based on Robbie’s season last year…..he needs the work. Especially given the fact Rhule puts him out for the lion share of the work -
who knows. I'm not smart enough to guess or try. I've stopped my monthly buying for the moment. I'll probably start back after the summer is over no matter what the world looks like though. What else can you do. I'm not retiring for a long long time. And we have always sat on too much cash as we have always had to fight our risk adverse nature. I'll probably just buy the big name beat down tech when I return.

he has always needed to get in the weight room IMO. That's always been the sign IMO he was just coasting on his god given talent and cool with it. Which I mean, that's cool. More power to him. The league is slammed full of guys who are just cashing checks like so much of the rest of the population does. -
Stock market bottom doesn't seem to be in sight. Crypto market is mirroing it. Real estate bubble about to burst. Going all in on Jake Delhomme rookie cards. Someone told be card collecting was hot again.

Jimmy G Air yards per pass attempt and air yards per completion 2021- 29th and 13th 2020 -40th and 39th 2019 - 37th and 26th Seems to paint a pretty consistent picture of what checkdown Jimmy G does with the ball. He is Teddy B. People aren't mindlessly hating on Jimmy G. Just like they don't with Rhule/Tepper/Darnold. Just calling a spade a spade. We just have some posters that like to create mythical characters that don't exist. and if you go back in time when we signed Teddy B. There were people then that would argue he wasn't a checkdown QB. Because they didn't want him to be. So they refused to accept a pretty well established reality on the QB.

I wonder if part of their reluctancy is they are just afraid to cut him.....and the Steelers pick him up. And then Baker wrecks them in 2022 minus Watson. That's some short term hard egg on your face.
-
pretty predictable. Not a huge Baker fan but whatelse is he really suppose to do. They replaced him. No point risking injury or wasting your time w/ Clev at this point.
-
I mean, throw them all out week 1....and I'd concede Baker is better than every QB named going in to week 1. But that doesn't make Baker a good QB. Nor does playing him really serve a purpose outside of Rhule trying to squeak out the max possible wins. I'd rather Rhule play whatever combo of his handpicked Sam/PJ to start off the year and see what Matt Corral has. That will help us make decisions next offseason.

Sam when the pressure ramps up

I don't know. Headline of the article IMO didn't really match the article.

So....is the answer of how to avoid a 5th losing season per the article to sign Baker Mayfield?

enjoy the Truly, Mike's Hard Lemonades and whatever else those guys prefer to pound pre game. I'm just going to sit back and patiently what for you to violate any of the 4783 rules you might be unaware of. Then ban you. (in a Sandlot voice). FOR-EV-ER.

According to Scott.... QB competition between Matt and Sam
CRA replied to Lurk21's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not saying Cam needs to come back. But why would we care about Sam Darnold's snaps? -
I'd put the Jags owner as the worst. But I mean, it's close if Tepper ranks around 30. Which he does. Soccer and Garth Brooks don't matter in this convo. NFL team owners...Tepper is near the bottom of the pack.

Jimmy G - Average Intended Air Yards per pass attempt 2021- 29th 2020 - 40th 2019 - 37th He is the king of checkdown offense. It’s why the 49ers gave up 3 first round picks for a Trey Lance. If Jimmy G was good….Trey Lance wouldn’t be in SF. Especially not for 3 first round picks. We could of just kept Teddy this entire time. Saved a bunch of draft picks.

Zone read and RPO are here to stay IMO. If guys can run it at a high level I see no reason for a stubborn NFL OC to omit it from his offense.

Fine w/ that. I just don't want to add these caliber QBs to the mix. I also don't want Matt Corral to be the week 1 starter. I don't think there will be nor do I want a legit open competition. But I want him to play to get an idea of what he might have. Because I think after this season we will want to know to make our next play/move. I do think the fanbase/stadium will allow us to see Corral at some point if it is just Sam/PJ on the roster. I think we just repeat last year and eventually Corral just has to get out there. Hopefully we won't see it until mideseason.

you said there was no comparison. I responded to that narrative. The comparison is they are both checkdown QBs. Teddy and Jimmy G. And they do compare statistically too. I responded to that. They have very high and similar career completion percentages because of all the checking down. whatever the goal of the article is doesn't matter lol. Unless you think he is falsely being portrayed as a checkdown QB by the author. That was just the first one that popped up on a google search because it is a long discussed issue of Jimmy's.

I'm saying you are one of the key cogs of what you are complaining about. You spend most of your time here being upset because people think Matt Rhule sucks.
