Not sure that is actually a contradiction. Could just be implying he wasn’t going to be fired at 0-3 or something like that there has been a lot of reporting since last year shitshow that all seems pretty connected

I mean, it was already reported awhile back that Tepper would look to go experienced next. That’s why Tepper had to go apologize to Rhule and claim it totally wasn’t true.

Most of DJ’s targets have been off target balls by the QB

3 games in and our RB who hasn’t been healthy since 2019 is hurt again. And Carolina has used the #2 RB less than anyone else in the NFL. CMC isn’t built to be pounded like McAdoo is doing. And McAdoo is not using him in the one aspect that legitimately separates him from other RBs.

Production relative to your targets matters. and as you said the Jags were a mess and now have a good HC. And that good HC didn’t want him. And now the pass game in Jacksonville is working with different bodies. If he was a good 2 he would be in Jacksonville and not depth on the Panthers. there are a lot of good football players that are weak NFL WRs. Atlanta has one. He is a great football player. And that is what Atl asked him to do. Not be a true WR. And it works.

619 yards, 0 TDs off of 100 targets isn’t good. and him not being able to run routes well and get open is what landed him here. It’s isn’t a huddle creation. he seems like a fine football player. Weak WR. It’s why you have to scheme the ball in his hands.

Back when Matt Rhule wasn’t deemed a lameduck/hotseat/bad coach….Rhule didn’t even think McAdoo was good enough to be his QB coach. reality is, when Rhule went OC searching, no one good would want to come for what looked like a one year gig for a bad coach/team. we hired a bad OC because we couldn’t get a good one.

We are struggling to move the ball though. We are 30th in O right now. And our yards per game at this rate would have finished 32nd last year. Even worse than the Sam season. got the freaking Jags averaging 100 more yards a game than us. we have a coaching problem in Carolina

Patterson was a freak though. 4 time all pro and all decade team and that was before Atlanta figured out how to use him.

I mean, let’s say I don’t want to argue OBJ vs Cooper. Now you are saying the #2 they have in Clev is better Landry. And that dude was there when OBJ and Landry were there. They had better talent in Clev at WR then vs now. I’m talking talent. If you want to only talk just production then where are you ranking the Panthers currently. Our #1 has 88 yards through 3 games.

Trevor didn’t have guys that could run routes and get open last year. Shenault can’t do that. and they already got a RB/WR behind James Robinson they are developing in Etienne. it made sense the Jags didn’t want him. Shenault did great Sunday on a screen that the Saints frankly probably weren’t ready for. But I think it is unrealistic to think he will be to us what Patterson turned it for Atlanta. Patterson was more freakish to begin with

we are the definition of a bad team. If we aren’t a bad team, bad teams don’t exist. We haven’t won more than 5 games in years. We currently have the 30th ranked O in an offensive/pass era league. And we are now in year 3 of this “plan”. And we only have beaten teams that have been in rebuild/tear down mode, debuting a rookie, injured or starting a backup since 2019. there is really no metric to go to that would suggest we aren’t a bad team

Top 1/3 teams don’t beat the Flacco Jets by 1 and the Panthers by FG at the end.
