  1. I’m not stirring the pot saying we are in a rebuild. We are. Lord Zod can tell you that. And it gets no higher than that. But you likely could call me more of a NFL fan than a Panther fan. I definitely don’t fan boy out over a team that hasn’t won in a literal half decade. This is always the worst part of the season…..you got hyper sensitive crowd once again unable to handle people talking about a football team. People dare speak against those that say McAdoo/Rhule pairing is going to be awesome, Sam Darnold and the Jets outcasts is smart direction, etc. Oh noes! Someone said Fitt who is going on year 3…..doesn’t really anything to his name that could result in him being actually praised as good at his job.
  2. He signed with the Titans awhile ago
  3. It’s just standard talk IMO. What you want him to say to a fanbase that hasn’t seen a winning season in a half decade. I would think year 3 you look to be good. And that is still Adam’s contract. Possibly year 2. Not year 1.
  4. I don’t have low expectations. I’m excited to hopefully watch a proper rebuild. We wasted the last 3 years. It should have been a proper rebuild post Ron/Cam. We waste 3 years in no man’s land not doing one. But they have gotten off to a decent start to the rebuild. I can nitpick it a little but it’s a pretty decent start.
  5. Acknowledging a rebuild isn’t an excuse. sooner rather than later….doesn’t equate to being a contender in year 1. We need offensive players. We need experience and time. And we are likely going to need pieces up front on D for the new scheme. and developing Bryce doesn’t mean playing 1940s football. Which is what Wilks did when we lucked into games against an abnormal amount bad run defenses. We aren’t building off what was done last year. rookie QBs take lumps. Especially ones that aren’t playing with elite defenses or HOF skill talent. Very few exceptions to that.
  6. We don’t have an all star coaching staff. Frank is a Ron/Fox. Who was just fired for his inability to get it done and specifically the O he called. Which he is calling here. And Capers and Caldwell are old heads. We got a tremendous amount of years and experience on staff. But a lot of that narrative was just built off having so many old guys. We got an exciting young DC whose 1 year featured him inherited a top 10 D. That’s not an all star staff. The rest of the league would be the comparison not Rhule’s squad. Wilks didn’t install a new system. He is a DC. He kept McAdoo. He just dictated what McAdoo would call going forward vs what he did. and building something new isn’t easy with old parts. It doesn’t happen overnight Nor is winning in general for any rookie QB.
  7. Randy Fasani - literally pulled off a 0 QB rating in his lone NFL start
  8. We did a rebuild. It’s not about taking a step forward from something that no longer exists. We got all a new scheme to learn and figure out. And it will take time for this staff to find the ideal personnel to fit the new schemes. And we got a rookie QB. Literally every skill position starter is new. New coaches.
  9. They both went to Super Bowls in their first 3 seasons here.
  10. He was drafted to a team where it made sense for him to be. He now exists on a team where it really doesn’t. I mean, from Matt’s perspective. If I was him I would have nicely asked the front office to trade me. I’d want to go somewhere with an unstable QB position and where it likely could get unstable soon.
  11. I mean, we did have one of best vertical threats in the NFL though......which was coverage altering. I mean, Ginn Jr's #'s would actually be bonkers if he had hauled into all those wide open deep ball TDs. I mean, he had 700+ yards and 10 TDs. But there is a highlight clip of all his big play drops. It's actually insane to go watch that drop reel. and that helped the MVP to Pro Bowl TE connection thrive. Who was the #1 WR. It would be like saying KC doesn't have a true #1 when the O is built around Kelce. KC has a #1. It's the TE. People largely knew where Cam wanted to go in key moments.
  12. and that's the niche he was brought here to play. Outside threat. While we are deep, but he was really the only one suited for that role. Adam, TMJ, Mingo, Shenault, etc. don't really fit the bill. I think the Panthers got to go to cuts to find a threat if the hammy is a legit issue. I mean, a roleplayer is fine in that role given Bryce isn't a deep ball slinger. But you still got to be able to threaten folks or life just gets too easy for a defensive unit crowd a QB. Especially a rookie.
  13. in news of actual bust QBs. It was announced today that Sam Darnold is the backup QB to Brock Purdy. 1. Purdy -7th round pick 2. Sam Darnold - hot stinky garbage 3. Trey Lance - cost 3 first round picks
  14. Simms had Zach Wilson ahead of Trevor Lawerence
  15. I mean, here me out. We once brought Vinny T off the couch and back at 40. I'm pretty sure Legatron is probably just chilling somewhere right now.
  16. I think you would be better off looking at the last round of cuts on Aug 29th than looking at the present FA pool. There will be young and vet talent cut.
  17. Not the hero we deserved. But the hero we nee....um, uh...the dude that was available.
  18. No, it's not. Much like when Joe Brady got fired....the problems that remain become the relevant ones to fixate on. Not the other way around. Matt Rhule is now gone. I'm not putting more blame on Fitt. I'm just putting some blame on him. Tepper, Marty, Rhule, and Fitt. They all deserve blame. And that's what you have been arguing against.
  19. AR does have the physical traits to overcome deficiencies in an offense. Cam had them coming out the ears. With Bryce, you flat out our going to need the OL play to really take advantage of what he does well.
  20. I'm sticking with my Simms stance I took back during the Fields draft. Simms and media folks just looking for clicks. That draft was always Trevor and then Fields....it was the consensus for 2 straight years. Then suddenly after all the football had been played, Fields got trashed and the folks suddenly lifted Lance and Wilson ahead of him. And yet, here we are. With it being Trevor and then Field in that class. Simms has bad takes. Probably intentional too. His job is clicks/views now. And calling it straight doesn't really do that. In any realm of media.
  21. I can say it one last time, for you to intentionally confuse. When poo hits the fan, everyone engages in PR, spin, and half truths. All sides. I clearly never said Matt Rhule isn't the truth teller. No one is. Said everyone is working in partial and selective truths to make themselves look good. That's a universal stance. I simply don't ignore the partial truths that come from outside the current offices of BOA. Matt Rhule was a big problem. Matt Rhule wasn't all of our problems. Everyone has blame on their hands that has been in Carolina. Hardly a radical concept. Heck, Matt Rhule should of never even been allowed to attempt a year 3. And it's why he was fired after 6 games in a predictably pointless season. It was an embarrassing comedy after 2 seasons. And Urban Meyer being an all time comedy show doesn't change what we were despite it giving some cover to this organization in addition to being a small market. That was obvious. Well, it wasn't to the defenders of a bad front office at the time. again, as you said, it's never one man....but that's your argument.
  22. He is no more a liar than Tepper or the 31 other NFL teams. Which again, is my stance. They all do the same nonsense. And again, you are contradicting your own stance.... that it's never one man. But that's your actual argument. Yes, and you harping on the kid thing now just shows you have gone blind on this on the Rhule issue. Yes, that is just Rhule being a dad and again it totally makes sense. You got kids? An 8 year old wouldn't find it very comfortable to be in arena of thousands upon thousands of thousands of strangers....booing and heckling him and his family. 8 is a 2nd or 3rd grader. People saying the type nonsense in real life that is said on a message board? So again, it totally makes sense that his kids didn't feel comfortable with all that and no longer could do those things. That's where you got to separate football fandom and real life. Matt Rhule was a poo NFL coach. Nothing more. But you need him to more than that. Not me. And no one was harder on the coach than me. But he was only part of the problem. As you said, it's never one man despite your argument that it is.
  23. Yeah, I think most guys in this world speak partial truths and I treat/view them all the same. You continue to blame one man for all the problems. Which as you said is never the case…..but that is exactly your repeated case. and yeah, Rhule wasn’t a POS human like an Urban. He just was a trainwreck at his NFL job. He got praise til the end and after on the human aspect.. So if he felt like he got too much and wanted to defend himself a little to narratives that weren’t really accurate? I can see some truth in what he said. Because frankly it just makes sense that it wasn’t all him. That kid comment is just that. That’s where the coach hate drifts into the absurd. Which I enjoy as much as the next person on a message board. But yeah, his comment actually makes sense as a father of young kids. Easy to see how little kids felt threatened and they no longer could go.
  24. lol, you mean in the Fitterer thread? Yeah, he sort of is the focus. and I still have mentioned and blamed Rhule, Tepper, and Marty....in the thread about Fitt. You know, everyone else. and I largely just acknowledge there is some truth likely in everything. While Matt Rhule was a totally unqualified and bad NFL coach. Everyone generally had good things to say about the human. And while it's fun to joke about the con job there is no reason to think he is a legit liar. I think there are partial truths on his end. Which get ignored in favor of the partial truth of guys still in black and blue. And Matt Rhule specifically came out and addressed what he called the myth of him making all the roster moves, picks, etc. as he was trashed out the door. So, I think there is some truth there. Yeah, reporters like to remind you but in the contract it said he had final say if he wanted it.... but Rhule wanting to clarify that after his firing doesn't sound like he universally took advantage of that. And some of the bad decisions came from other minds in the front office that were paid to make those decisions.
  25. my narrative is simply that Tepper, Hurney, Rhule, Fitt all were part of the mess that has been the Panthers. All of them.
