  1. Cardinals are 100% in an orchestrated tank
  2. Trevor was a #1 overall. I think he was a better prospect than Young too. But he isn't a generational talent. At least how I define it.
  3. I mean, you are in the conversation. I think you should be in the ACC Championship. But if you think Clemson and Florida St are both favored to win over UNC.....how high can someone nationally rank a team viewed as the 3rd best in the ACC? I mean, the discussion is their current national ranking? If the UNC D improves? Well, I think people would adjust the rankings/odds as the season goes on. But it's tough to ignore how bad that D was. And I think that how bad D is, is more costly to UNC over Southern Cali. UNC plays more teams that play defense. So their O faces more resistance. And that bad D becomes a bigger liability in conference play than it does for USC.
  4. That's probably true. But no one has ever played defense out that way. Fair or unfair, when people are doing their rankings, they to an extent are doing predictions too IMO. I mean, if you asked me who I thought would win the PAC 12? I'd probably answer USC is most likely. If you ask me who is going to win the ACC? I'd have UNC behind Clemson and Florida St in terms of most likely. So if that is true for people? How high can you rank the team you think has the 3rd best odds in the ACC?
  5. Duke went 5-3 in the ACC last year. Clemson went 8-0 with despite the worst QB play in the conference. I'd argue worst in all the power 5. So there is a pretty massive roster difference going on at the schools IMO. Clemson did have some of their defensive front go to the NFL but they still are bringing what should be one of the top defensive front 7s in the nation to the table. And you got to assume the Clemson O will be significantly more dangerous this year. Cade is just flat out better than DJ and Clemson had the best offensive hire in all of college football IMO this offseason.
  6. Because the "2nd best QB in college football" was paired up w/ the 116th ranked D last year.
  7. Their roster wasn’t horrible. Their QB play was. we aren’t dramatically improved on O. Our starting RB was CMC and out starting WR was DJ Moore in that first win. The second game was basically the Nebraska game that was on TV last night and should never be spoke of. And going to a rookie QB over bad vets isn’t really improvement. It’s its own thing. Young is going to struggle early because he is a rookie learning. Not because he is bad.
  8. They finished with a top 5 D last year. Which likely was inflated some because of schedule but it's not a garbage D roster. Carr is a Pro Bowl QB. Bryce Young can't viewed as better than that today. I mean, even if you think Carr is meh. He is going to be ahead of Young most likely this year. The expectation for Young is just too high out the gate. That's not fair to him. I'd rather have Olave, Thomas as by top 2 WRs. and Jamal Williams is better than Hubbard. So even if you want to call Kamara/Sanders a push. Their backfield is better IMO.
  9. PJ Walker already got picked up on someone's practice squad. Browns.
  10. Duke ain't got the bodies to upset Clemson. and all joking/hate aside, despite having the best QB which usually determines my picks in college.....I think SC finds a way to win an ugly game. Unless, UNC just has a vastly improved D I don't know about.
  11. in case anyone is going to Vegas this weekend I got some lock predictions for ya. UNC 49 UofSC 3 Clemson 3 billion Duke 2
  12. the first play of the game was a QB sneak, they blew the lead at the end.....and it was horrific offense for hours. I mean, with all the money at Nebraska in a pay to play world.....it is a joke you could only get a GT QB to play. yeah, he might be one and done. Nebraska alumni don't have realistic expectations for Nebraska. Which IMO always made it a weird choice for Matt Rhule to there for his redemption arc.
  13. I wasn't attempting to portray that as an echoing post. You happened to bring up Peppers. And I was then using Peppers to make my own point. My bad if that wasn't clear.
  14. nah, people twist things up and call everything hate. Burns is awesome. Doesn't mean there shouldn't be a limit on what the team pays. The huddle historically has begged for most of the contracts we later have spent years complaining about. Almost every deal blasted around here was once endorsed here.
  15. Reddick didn't just get the passer in Philly though. He did in Carolina the year prior. He did it in Arizona prior to that. He has consistently gotten to the QB more at every stop. and everyone keeps talking about Bosa money. Burns isn't Julius Peppers. He isn't a do everything DE. He is a pass rushing specialist and people should be talking Reddick and the likes IMO.
  16. so that article, puts him in the 2nd tier of pass rushers....and not at the top of that tier. and behind Reddick.
  17. I think bringing up Peppers is sort of relevant. I don't think it is Burns hate to acknowledge Burns isn't a Peppers caliber DE. Burns is more of a passing rushing specialist variety of DE. And there should be a pay difference between the 2. Bosa falls more in the tier Peppers once occupied than Burns IMO.
  18. What a horrible playcall for a QB that can’t throw. Way too much traffic and crowded for a bad QB to throw into the short side of the field.
  19. Yep, you can win games playing boring and safe….in a world where most aren’t. Rhule played good D and ran the ball.
  20. I mean, I don’t know what you are doing at this point. Tepper, Rhule, Hurney and Fitt all deserve blame. It’s simple. and every bad move/draft pick isn’t on Rhule. It’s on Fitt too. It remains simple. I’m out. Danced for a couple days. Props though, you exhausted me.
  21. You have from the jump argued an absolute position. It was all Rhule. Fitt wasn’t responsible for any of it. I have never argued in such a manner. Merely that you can’t put all the blame on Rhule and fully excuse Fitt. It’s pretty simple. Nothing misleading about that.
  22. I got Rhule and Fitt both maintaining that position in both good and bad times. Fitt literally in the OP calling your take bologna. Give a name that says Matt Rhule went to his contract and overruled and dictated every player transaction/draft pick and Fitt was wallpaper
  23. Saints. QB, RB, WR edge over us. Offensive league. rookie Young isn’t coming out week 1 as a better QB than Carr. He has leaning and growth to do. and they finished with a the top 5 defense last year And they have a comparable schedule to us.
  24. my narrative is just listening to everyone that was employed here that matters. When they were hired, when they were working together and even after they parted. Literally no one has ever actually said Matt Rhule made every roster call and draft pick. everyone knows Rhule had a clause that said he could trump folks if he wanted to. And the coach, GM, etc, addressed that over and over. Not just when he was fired. But at the very start of the Fitt era. They have all repeatedly said that's not what it was in Carolina. and as Fitt just said it in the OP, what you are doing is unfair to Rhule. It's not all on him. You just want it to be.
  25. No. Rhule didn't just say it. Everyone involved has said it. When they came on board and when they left. It's been consistent. Fitt just once again, confirmed again. you have your own narrative. That is largely from the media repeating the same story over and over because someone happened to hear about a line in a contact. And that was always addressed in real time too when Fitt was hired. But you pick and choose who is lying and why they are lying. Fitt is a liar too. But a noble one lol. we paired a newb GM w/ an unqualified college coach and it went predictably. Fitt at least owns it. You should accept he had a role in it and move on.
