  1. Ross could be a HUGE steal. He got injured after dominating that national title game. He projected as an early first rounder at the time. Had a big time injury. Came back for one season but never looked close to being that guy he was. But he looks to be getting back into his old form now. So they likely could of picked up early round talent that simply was still recovering from an injury as a UDFA. I mean, his CFP playoff run when healthy on the way to that title was as dominate as it gets in the CFP era. Only Justin Jefferson has had a more dominate playoff run.
  2. they aren't loaded at the top end but they are loaded at the bottom. Justyn Ross out there looking like the dude that dominated Alabama single handedly in the national title this offseason. And he was a fringe guy to make the roster.
  3. My point is merely Sanders unreliability post rookie year in a pass catching role is why he saw his opportunities diminish. There was a reason for it. It wasn’t just lack of opportunity. Sanders and Duce were paired up his sophomore season too. 1 season as a reliable all around back and 1 season not being that with Duce. That’s not bashing Sanders. He just hasn’t been a reliable and proven good player in that specific area the last several seasons. No one on this roster has proven to be. Just seems like a needless risk going into a year with rookie Bryce. Focus being Bryce.
  4. Yes. Ron hired a QB coach and an OC. Pretty well documented. And Shula was largely regarded as good QB coach and move at the the time. In hindsight did his hires and Cam lead to what we all wanted? No. But again, defensive coaches hire that job out. That’s what they do and are supposed to do. Doesn’t mean they hit on the right coaches. Go look at the track record of 1st round QBs. Or #1 overall. Cam did somehow rewrite the record books as ROY and go on to be league MVP. Wouldn’t call it the failure some pimp it as. But the boogeyman Ron has been gone for some time. And Ron/Cam brought us the highest highs we have seen to date. But I prefer to talk about the offensive variant of Ron/Fox we just hired. The relevant coach.
  5. You simply insisted someone explain to you how Ron would do it. and I informed you Ron wouldn’t develop the QB. He would hire a QB coach and an OC and they would do that job. Which continues to be true. How that would go? Depends on the hires. And QB. so again, if you hire a defensive HC….which isn’t my preference….it comes down to who they hire to do it. Which is what a defensive HC is supposed to do.
  6. He didn’t play under Reich in Philly There is a reason why Sanders role diminished post rookie season. It’s documented. It was Sanders play and reliability in that role post rookie season Everyone loves PFF until they say one of our guys was horrific at something and then it’s a junk website. And he was horrible per them in 2 of his last 3 years in that role. And you can go find old Eagles articles that support that. Not sure why Miles can’t just be a strong rusher. That’s what he has proven to be in the NFL. Questionable elsewhere in the role. Hopefully he improves. That’s the gamble we made going into this season…..but we have paired Bryce Young with backfield that doesn’t feature anyone proven in the pass game.
  7. He really doesn’t like them and their slowness in the shorter pass game. He has been chiming in about that outside of his videos too.
  8. It’s not just about YPC and being a rusher. It’s a passing league. More duties to the backfield than just running. I’m specifically not talking about rushing. I got no beef with Sanders or Hubbard as rushers. And if you wanted to run a Steve Wilks O with a weak QB I would have no issue. but we aren’t expected to be an old Panther O. The pass catching RB was a big part of Young’s Heisman run and college success too. We got no one proven in that role on the roster. Just seems silly not to given the investment in Young.
  9. I got not beef with Hubbard as a #2 in an offense that wants to hide the QB and play D. But right now we are trying to groom Bryce Young….and we no proven RBs in that 3rd down/pass catching role.
  10. I got blasted for saying it earlier in the off-season but we need talent added to the backfield. Chubba a weak #2 by NFL standards. I think we should add a vet RB if one pops in cuts that can do it all reliably even if they have a limited ceiling. And there are still questions about Sanders overall game too. He has never been a featured RB and his role as pass catcher is questionable at best. the suspect play of the OL just reinforces that IMO. Young really needs someone reliable in pass pro and that can run good routes with hands.
  11. Who is or was Ron’s QB coach and OC?
  12. I'm not sure what the 2019 season was. I thought we ran a mix of everything. Both looks. I know we were horrific against the run.
  13. I don't think you can always go by 40 times when talking about speed in the NFL. 40 times largely measure how well you can run a 40. Sometimes it's more important to have quickness, route running, etc in the NFL. Lot of 4.4 guys aren't really all that fast on Sunday.
  14. he might be a better pass rusher as a 3-4 OLB. He might not be. Never seen it. 3-4 might also highlight some of his weaknesses more. Don't know.
  15. when we turned that down that offer, we also didn't know we would be moving to Evero's 3-4 scheme.
  16. I just don't see why a NFL team would gamble on a massive contact......while never seeing him play a down at OLB in the new D. Everyone isn't going to be the same beast in a different scheme and position. Make the deal in season if you ask me.
  17. if you are the Carolina Panthers, would you really want to give him a massive deal before you have seen him play a down in the new 3-4 scheme?
  18. I mean, that’s what Bryce Young does well. That’s what he translates too in the NFL IMO. I mean, it doesn’t mean you literally never go deep. But yeah, he isn’t going to be a play action attack deep QB. He ideally would be attacking you short to intermediate. That’s the small ball game.
  19. I mean, we drafted Bryce Young.....so it is going to make sense to build the team up with guys that cater to what we need. Which wasn't what we have had or had been drafed for. Tommy Tremble doesn't fit a small ball quick pass offense. You would have never drafted him if you were building an offense around Bryce Young. we still have a lot to do on that front, which is normal. We need some new TEs, WRs and frankly RBs to suit a small ball quick pass O. We lack the quickness/separation and hands on a lot of fronts.
  20. Fitt paid him too much for him to go anywhere. He would be a 7 mill dead cap hit.
  21. You leaving out Ian Thomas. He beats both those guys out. Arnold isn’t great but he is better than the majority of our TE roster.
  22. Not these cuts, but there likely will be guys cut early this week that could improve rosters. Some teams are deep at spots. Some trying to figure out to roll with developing youth over aging vets. You can sometimes find some rental vet bandaids in the final cuts or legit raw talent.
  23. Ian Thomas would be a 7 million dead cap hit Fitt-magic
  24. I don’t think many people are doubting him for the most part. Think they doubt what is around him more than anything.
