well, Young’s debut was noticeably less productive and efficient than theirs…. and likely had the easiest matchup and viewed as the most pro ready. so if it’s not the coaching and talent around them players…what would you put the pretty stark difference most on?
-
CMC at least suited up every game for his first 3 seasons and plays RB. And he plays RB.
-
No point trading Horn. His value won’t be high. Too injury prone to date.
-
Horn makes Jeff Otah seem durable And Otah logged 9 more games through his first two seasons. And those were 16 game seasons. Otah is a pretty good comp. Otah was essentially pro bowl caliber out the gate. He just couldn’t stay on the field.

CJ Stroud: 63% comp, 242 pass yards, 20 rush, 1 FUM vs Ravens D. A. Rich: 64% comp, 223 pass yards, 40 rush, 2 TDs, 1 INT vs Jags D Young: 52% comp, 146 pass yards, 17 rush, 1 TD, 2 INTs vs Falcons D All the rookies finished the day with a L but that’s to be expected. I clearly I think Bryce Young is the best passer of all the rookie QBs. So, I think that’s is something this org should at least acknowledge. The other 2 orgs did a better job setting their rookie QB up for some success in their debut. I think those stats/productions are largely more about everyone and everything else around the QB. Front office, coaching and talent. * hard to gauge the quality of opponent this early. You would assume Stroud might have had the toughest challenge.

I mean Ricky Proehl’s best season was 400 something yards here. Ricky was a roleplayer.

Then don’t hire him. Don’t hire a young exciting dude with potential from a great tree. Whose 2nd half playcalling was better all preseason. Hire an experienced OC and let him do it. Frank isn’t a good playcaller. That’s not new. He should focus on being the HC. Was talked all preseason and when he first announced he would keep doing it here after getting fired for it
-
Um, the OC. The young dude from the great playcalling tree. not the dude who was literally just fired for what he does with the call sheet. He should focus on being the HC

We have weak WRs overall. And Bryce and the scheme isn’t going to threaten downfield that often. So it allows a D to zone in on more predictable route targets IMO. If Bryce Young is your QB….you need quick dudes and dudes that can get quick separation. We got basically zero of those types. Mingo might become that but he is just a rookie.
-
Well my feelings are all the same as they have been - Frank shouldn’t be calling plays - we need better skill talent around Bryce. We lack the type players that can really help a rookie that is isn’t going to be threatening deep. - we should of added more depth to the backfield - it’s a rebuild so I don’t care about w/l. Care about what we are doing to help Bryce grow. And I think the front office could have done a better job at that than they did in terms of the bodies around him on O.

Sanders was deemed for years in Philly to be unreliable after his rookie year. It was well documented. Bad routes. Hands. Fumbles. Always something. He ran the bell well last year behind the best OL and had talent. But we overpaid a committee RB and suddenly everyone here denied the reality of the last 3 seasons.

Robinson gonna be a problem for years. He looks really nice.

Hate that playcall on 4th and 1.

SEC 1-4 vs the mighty ACC thus far this season.. With 2 ranked SEC teams losing.

REPORT: Panthers and Brian Burns not at all close to extension
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, the first game is against the #3 rushing offense from last year and they only got better talent to run the ball. It’s not really the type matchup for Burns to show his stuff. It frankly is a matchup that plays into his weakness/liability. Burns would have a bad team working for him to make a deal on the results of that I’ll still be surprised if he plays with no deal. -
But it’s the risk reward of it. ACC/SEC got plenty to test themselves with on their schedule. Why waste a gimme game slot with a team that looks forwards to routinely upsetting big conference schools. And if you beat them, you aren’t really rewarded for that on the schedule.
-
Said to my Gamecock buddies a couple years ago. I just don’t see why any ACC or SEC school schedules App St. The risk outweighs the reward.

Furman up on the Gamecocks 14-7.

Bump this thread when Miles Sanders is the main reason for winning
CRA replied to Basbear's topic in Carolina Panthers
The grading of his game as a receiver is about the work he gets. You can grade high with low volume. He graded dead last in all the NFL amongest RBs. He also graded out really poorly with Wentz in 2020. He has the talent. Hope he does well. But people are saying he is good at something he hasn’t shown to be the last 3 years. And it was talked about in Philly coverage. Routes, hands, reliability. And even if you hate PFF, they never get it THAT wrong IMO. That the league worst is actually really good in their grading system. And I wish we added someone that was proven in that niche. All I care about is aiding Young. -
I love to pile on Rhule. But team Sanders just manifesting disrespect and doing it in the media. Manifesting is being nice. Not really a fan of how each week in the postgame they put out their fake creations publicly like that. 2nd week in a row. Make up your motivation and keep it behind closed doors. Because eventually it’s just lying. I mean, all Rhule’s words are in print. Cameras were their pregame. Nothing seen or heard. Unless everyone has sat on everything….which just doesn’t happen in todays world.
-
Rhule was praising Sanders all week. Deion just manufacturing stuff to feed his team IMO.
-
last week Sanders called out Ed Werder post game for “not believing” and that he had read his articles. Do you believe now!! reality was that he doesn’t even cover college football nor wrote anything. Sanders just creating that.

He isn’t home grown talent. It’s the NFL. You don’t just pay guys whatever they demand because you drafted them. What you pay matters in a cap driven league. It’s dictates how much talent you end up being able to put on the field. -

It sounds like Burns doing everything you would want him to do and could ask of him. I still don’t think he plays unless ink is on paper. But he doesn’t seem like the to abandon his leadership role just because business is business
