  1. I didn't skip over that part. You skipped to after the draft. When they were then in sell our decision to the fanbase mode. Which you keep acting like is the ultimate truth that everyone just has to believe. But those sales jobs are always the same. Doesn't matter the team.
  2. I mean, it's all picking and choosing. Go listen to any NFL org the day after the draft. They are doing PR. That's why all 32 teams got the #1 guy on their board the entire draft. They were just praying the 10 teams in front of them would be foolish enough to pass on. They weren't thinking of anyone else. And everyone is high fiving in complete agreement on every single pick, on all 32 teams. Every time. I mean, you want to find guys selling bologna. Go listen to all 32 teams sell their fanbase on how awesome every single draft has gone. you keep going to the, well the Panthers said X.....so it totally has to be X. I mean, they said it. Everyone isn't going to buy that team narrative 100% like you do. It's ok for some us not to.
  3. lol. Frank on Tepper and them going to get the #1 His analysis (Tepper) of those options, I thought, was spot on—kinda helped push us to the right decision to get up to No. 1 and to make that decision and to be in control.” More Frank on Tepper in regards to the QB selection. He’s (Tepper) intimately involved . This quarterback that we pick will be the face of our franchise. And so, obviously he has to be comfortable with that." NFL insider Adam Schefter “There’s a belief that David Tepper loves Bryce Young, [and] Frank Reich likes CJ Stroud,” NFL teams are mom and pop shops. Tepper is a billionaire owner. And AGAIN, he told you in his own words this type decision would be the type he would inject himself into. He was specific about the type dealings where he thought he would need to be in and not in. This was literally an example he used in terms of the type decisions he wouldn't stay out of.
  4. it's 2023. Inside scoops by legit reporters are done via social media. and yes, the Panther marketing department does Panther PR. They help paint the picture the Panthers want out there in the universe. We have been over this before. And there you go with the exaggerated projection. Thats' not doctoring a video. It's PR.
  5. I mean, if I spent billions on the Panthers....I probably would want my preferred option all things be close. Bryce probably had the highest floor. Seems like the safest option especially coming off the Rhule clown show. And I think most of the recent moves from Frank, Bryce, to all the old dinosaurs, etc......seem to be the org prioritizing stability coming off one of that embarrassment era.
  6. No one is arguing David Tepper is making all the picks. David Tepper in his own words told you he would inject himself into certain aspects of HIS team. And a #1 overall pick/face of the franchise type pick is I believe literally an example he used.
  7. Never said Tepper controls everything. You won't find that anywhere. That's you projecting for your argument. We were talking about the #1 overall pick. Those are the type decisions Tepper said would be part of. His words. He spoke on that. And again, there were legit reporters that covered the disagreements in house on what the Panthers should do with the pick. In the end, they selected the guy it was reported the owner wanted. Not Reich. Tepper is part of the big decisions. Not small ones. Bryce Young? Tepper is in on that. Backup nickel corner? Not a Tepper concern. Again, Tepper already discussed when and where he would poke his nose. It's his mom and pop shop after all.
  8. It's not a tactic to acknowledge what NFL teams are and do. It's just what they do. Again, your tactic is to take whatever the Panthers put out there as the gospel. I But when legit NFL reporters and multiple ones are telling you X. There is generally something there about X. That's my stance. And NFL teams don't like when reporters find out stuff they don't want aired out there. And they often lie. I don't treat anything as the gospel. There is enough smoke on the billionaire Tepper (and others like him) that he isn't the fan fiction version you tend to defend and create. Sitting in the corner and just wanting to make sure everyone dotting the i.....and just letting everyone else run his mom and pop shop however they seem fit.
  9. I mean, NFL teams aren't honest. We know that. You simply choose to treat Panther narratives they want set after the fact as the gospel. I don't. Have at it though. The Panthers would never say, yes, that reporting was correct. Frank wanted X and Tepper wanted Y lol. Every team is going to bullshit some agreement narrative 99% of the time. Just like with each draft picks. That kid is exactly who everyone wanted. We all agreed. He was #1 on everyone's board. You picking and choosing like the rest of us. You just can't accept that. I might listen to a long time NFL reporter.....but you are just listening to the Panther PR team. You claiming one is fact. I'm just acknowledging the reporter and that there are no real facts in most of these type discussions. At least, while everyone is working together. Real facts generally come out after everyone parts ways.
  10. 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th + DJ Moore. I think that is correct in terms of what we gave up QBs recently. Plus it gets weird how you want to define giving up CMC. But he was part of that equation. And then note the rest of CMC was for DJ Johnson essentially.
  11. everything is rumors. or PR messaging from the org after a decision has been made to set narratives. you pick and choose like everyone else. I mean, Tepper in his own words and on camera said what type decisions he would be involved with. And the #1 overall draft pick/franchise QB would be one of those type decisions Tepper said he would be in on.
  12. Tepper himself has said those are the type decisions he will be involved in as the owner. He isn't going to get involved in who the backup nickel corner is but will the franchise QB. and reports/rumors was their was a disagreement about QB. Staff liked Stroud (who was also discussed to fit the Reich mold the most). Tepper liked Young.
  13. watch Deion bench his son for this game for the eye poke. That's the real built-in excuse. And there is precedent for the eye poke discipline.
  14. tight early. Saints run away with it late. Game closer than score will suggest. 31-13
  15. experienced vets doesn't = it suits a quick small ball attack. I think that will be a big problem overall on the year with the Bryce rookie plan. Thielen and TMJ don't fit it. Our RBs don't fit it. Then factor in Frank has the call sheet.
  16. lmao. Nevermind boss. It's early and my brain is broken. I don't know why I had Luvu at Baylor. He wasn't. Pretend I never was here.
  17. So Fitt was responsible and gets credit for bringing in Baylor/Temple guys in his first year? That’s not on Rhule? I mean, yeah Anderson came In under Hurney. Fitt gave him the stupid contract and is presently one of our biggest cap hits. So I got a tad confused. overall point still pretty much remains. Fitt getting a Luvu carve out with some just because he worked out and still putting the rest on Rhule.
  18. I mean, I acknowledged you can’t really grade his draft picks. so all you have is his free agents and trades. Which is all I am doing here. To date, he just doesn’t have much positive when it’s compared to the negative on that front. *Then that gets weird. Because you have folks that say Robbie Anderson was 100% Matt Rhule and then want to credit Luvu to Fitt.
  19. Meh, Tepper was in on every interview. I don’t care what PR junk they put out there. Tepper is getting what he wants in Carolina. Buck starts and stops there IMO. Everything big is at Tepper’s feet IMO. Just like with our QB. Rumor mill was that the staff wanted Stroud. Tepper wanted Young. We got Young.
  20. Nah. I don’t include Foreman. Just like I don’t Gilmore. Or Reddick. They were one year rentals and not part of building us in a direction. I was largely just looking to insult the man with the PJ reference lol.
  21. Ok, so in his third year….his 2nd and 3rd best adds are average starting lineman. His best add is LB. I mean, that sort of sums up the Panthers in an offensive league.
  22. I mean, Bryce Young’s skill set is small ball. He just doesn’t have the skill talent to play that game. nothing wrong with small ball if it is highly efficient. But you need the skill players. Brady did it in New England late in his career. But he had the talent that suited it. Awesome TE, elite slot players, pass catching RBs.
  23. NFL teams operate like mom and pop shops. Tepper hires the people that officially make the decisions and is in on all the big decisions. so when we trade CMC, mortgage everything for a rookie QB, RH implodes, hire new coaches ….those are decisions Tepper is in on.
  24. CRA

    Baker

Carolina clearly got the worst out of Baker. At least statistically. He was better with the Rams too. Think Sam was statistically his worst here too Cam his worst in round 2. Bryce currently playing the worst of first rounders It’s the Tepper curse.
  25. Frank and Wilks are basically the same thing. One an offensive variant. One a defensive variant. and that’s what you get when you have egg on your face for going after something different in college. An overcorrection back to NFL retreadville. And then you surround Frank with dinosaurs like Dom and Caldwell lol. Best thing about the staff was the coordinators and Frank won’t let the OC be the OC.
