  1. lot of players just had one legit year of college play. Not sure the reasons why matter that much. What matters most is the type player you are as you enter the NFL.
  2. I mean, there are tons of recent studies on NFL players and ACLs. The average is still about 11 months return to field. RB, LB, and DL are also statistically are the worst positions to get an ACL injury per studies. But yeah, there are always dudes that defy the averages. But every young guy with an ACL isn't going to be part of bringing the average down. I still think it's a red flag. I think Carolina should be slow and cautious. Not get caught in a rush of wanting to see talent just because we lack it.
  3. Those top 3, I think really had a good draft on paper. For whatever a good draft on paper is. I think outside of someone like Atlanta, I’d throw most teams in the same boat
  4. In the name of just entertaining the idea… I’d go around B-/C+. I wouldn’t say it was great vs what some did and it wasn’t bad. We didn’t have a first rounder and unless you have a top pick it’s hard to feel like someone is going to have an immediate impact on things.
  5. I always get amused by this Clemson fan narrative. Most Gamecock fans don’t like the Panthers either. expansion team mixed with southern college football fans…it’s going to take decades. 40 year old + crowd still grew up not having a NFL team or pulling for the Skins/Falcons
  6. Yeah, but a 2 year starter is a legit player at a school. Gamecock fans saw more of Robinson on the field than some that played all 4 years there. He is a Gamecock. Of course, FSU can claim him too. I’m not making a grand point. It’s just really quirky how the Tepper era has that consistent school popping up every year.
  7. Robinson was a 2 year starter and Hurst in FA
  8. Tepper era 2024 - Gamecock in draft 2023 - Gamecock in draft, Gamecock in FA 2022 - Gamecock in FA 2021 - 2 Gamecocks in draft 2020 - 2 Gamecocks in FA 2019 - Gamecock in draft that’s a quirky trend that’s not any other school. Not claiming that means anything outside if I had to make a silly guess on something….I guess Gamecock
  9. Maybe. But people bashed the old Richardson/Hurney Panthers as bad drafters and the hit rate was better then. I think lately we are on the low end of the league
  10. Since 2019, the Panthers have paid tons of scouts and front office folks millions….and basically hit on like 3-4 players. Which includes the likes of NFL JAGs in Hubbard and Tremble as hits. And that’s if you want to given them Mrs Rhule’s pick lol
  11. I don’t know, if you look at top 15 QBs that teams moved on from relatively quick (after 1-3 seasons)…..they generally see the door and don’t hang around because of their rookie deals. Weird dynamic I think to keep them. Lance, Wilson, Fields, Mac, Haskins, Darnold, Rosen…only 1 saw a season as a backup after the team deemed they weren’t the future and then he was traded.
  12. I guess if I had to bet a dollar….I’ll guess the Gamecock C. Only because we need a C and for whatever reason the Panthers have an unhealthy relationship with the Gamecocks. But it is weird how different franchises gravitate to dudes from certain schools. and I have no idea if he wasn’t even an average C, I do know that OL got beat like a drum his whole career
  13. Rice still out there…. got to think as soon as the draft is over something all the teams know the public doesn’t comes out. I mean if there isn’t some legit red flag….thats a tough one to grasp
  14. not sure we actually could have a luxury pick on offense. We aren’t actually good anywhere. We literally just drafted a couple rookies that we hope and dream will be answers. In reality, if one is….that’s a good return for us of late.
  15. Would have rather taken a flyer on Travis than that DB.
  16. Sounds like the senior bowl is what got him drafted
  17. Our 5th rounders surprisingly have a pretty long history of making the team as a rookie. But could just be because the roster hasn’t been deep.
  18. Best nickel corner we ever drafted was a 7th rounder though. We just kept putting him in the outside because that’s what we do
  19. I was hoping our late round DB would be Stiggers from the CFL. Think this rules that out.
  20. I have never heard of this human before but now let me tell you exactly why Dan Morgan is an idiot. I mean genius.
  21. Philly fans going to go crazy if he can ever get on the field and make a real play….and swings the axe like his dad celebrating
  22. Also, so much is scheme and playcalling. HC and OC are rookies . We don’t just have a QB figuring things out and trying to improve ….we got a HC, OC trying to figure things out for the first time and everyone on a new O. nothing screams good season about that recipe for the worst team in the NFL in 2024
  23. I’m fine with Rice this round, I’m done with TMJ at this point and I think Mingo and XL means TMJ should be gone anyway. Johnson, AT, XL, Mingo and probably Moore are locks. That’s 5. I don’t think ISM or anyone else should stop us from buying a late round lotto ticket. 3 of the locks have low odds of being around after this year
  24. I mean, where matters. I didn’t want him at the top of the 4th at 101 given what was there. Have it now. Looks like 32 teams thought the same that round I loved Ruke. Would have hated him where Atl got him. I would have loved Shipley where the Eagles got him. 4th is my ideal spot for building a RB committee. A drafted committee is all I want at RB. Featured RBs is old era football. Would have hated him in the 2nd.
