they botched it all. They should of traded him when they got offered a stupid deal by a desperate team......and they should of been self aware to realize this was 100% a rebuild we were entering. BUT they didn't. Burns doesn't deserve stupid money. In the end, I think Burns walks away Julius Peppers style. We get absolutely nothing for him. Burns has been on a loser team his entire career. So I think he will demand stupid money as a means to just walkaway.

well, there is 25% off right now at the Panthers shop online

problem isn't them getting a great WR not mattering. problem is they got Josh McDaniel to be there head coach. Some coaches just ruin stuff. The same time you saw the best WR in the game "decline" under McDaniels......you saw arguably the best slot WR in the game disappear overnight. McDaniels sucks.

I mean, there are several different versions of Brees (like any player). The last version we saw was a noodle arm that couldn't go downfield. But that was last leg Brees. Overall, Brees wasn't actually a conversative check down QB. He would be risky with the ball downfield. All good QBs are willing to be.

by week 6 in his 3rd season.... Jeff Otah suited up for 76% of his games for us. Horn has suited up for 42% of his game for us. Reality is, to date, we probably shouldn't even call him Otah 2.0 (which I have been). Otah was wildly more available than Horn to date. Even if Horn came back after the bye and suited up for every game the rest of the season, Otah would have been more available through 3 years. And Otah IMO was proven more dominant when on the field because he proved his dominance IMO against tougher competition than Horn has seen in his little time.

We wlll see if Trevor and the Jags can break the voodoo curse. Trevor was 34-2 in college. Both losses came in SuperDome during the playoffs Jags also 0-3 in that dome.

I’m largely a pass on Horn because I don’t have faith in the Panthers to not overpay him with a bad contract. I mean, a good deal would be fine but I have no faith in Carolina to make that happen.
-
CMC suited up for every game his first 3 seasons. He played RB. And we turned him into a one man offense. Thomas Davis missed 2 games his first 4 seasons there was no concern about health going into their first contracts off their rookie years. Jeff Otah is the Horn comparison. Otah was dominant. And Otah suited up more than Horn. Betting on Otah would have been silly.

Tepper’s tenure has essentially been dedicated to making Hurney, Fox/Ron, Richardson, etc. all look better.

Shelton had 23 yards. In his entire career. TMJ is a better Dwayne Jarrett. Not sure who that makes him. What’s inbetween Colbert and Jarrett?

I’m not buying Lamar and Hurts being 1-5 or worse here. They are both built to adapt to our issues significantly better than Bryce Young by a large margin. And we could have won a couple games with Bryce if you changed a singular play most likely Not only are they vets but they can create their own run game and extend many plays that Bryce has been sacked on. And that’s with an our poo playcalling. Heck, we should have been able to win several with Bryce and good coaching. And the Herberts, Lawerences and Burrow types would have been given more Andy Dalton liberty and they are drastically better than Dalton.
-
also, unless you have already established yourself...A new coach is going to favor his guys over Matt Rhule's guys. I don't buy Frank really forgetting about TMJ. It serves Frank better for his dudes to produce.

I wouldn't trade for him. I'd just wait for the Panthers to inevitably cut him if I wanted to kick those tires.
-
still rules us out. We running a dink and dunk operation.
-
well, I wouldn't give him away. I'd want at least a 2nd at this point. My valuation is probably lower than most. I'd basically swap Brown and Horn on that list.
-
he has 2 years remaining after this year and that would include picking up his 5th year extension. to date he has played in 42% of our games with no sign of suiting up any time soon. why would you want to pay a guy like that? Exceptions shouldn't be the rule. We already lucked into a freak exception with Thomas Davis. You shouldn't pay someone made of glass because it MIGHT change. And what's Horn's best game to date. Who did he shutdown? I mean, he had crazy potential. I think he has it pending he could ever stay healthy. But he hasn't even been healthy enough to ever show anything of note.
-
Horn has suited up for 42% of his available games. Not sure you can even say a legit QB/WR combo has even tested him out yet in his career. The Bengals game was over in the 1st quarter. Joe Mixon just had a field day. So you we can't even use that game to see what he can really do vs the best.

Still don’t see how anyone can argue a higher trade value for Horn than Brown. Not sure you presented it.
-
Chinn barely plays at this point. And frankly, he has been nothing but message board hype post his rookie season. Carolina clearly doesn’t know what to do with him. It’s the tweener problem. I think the fan base overvalues him at this point.

I get he is cheap now. But that's also what would make him potentially attractive to a good team. you want them to extend and pay a DB that has been that comically injured? If you don't.....then he isn't part of our plans. Even if he balls out this team isn't going to do anything next year. So he just ends up walking. Why not get stuff for assets that aren't part of the long term plan. Because our future success would have to be in the long term not short term.
-
we are rebuilding though. We aren't contending this year or next. So what purpose does he really serve if he isn't part of the long term plan. And Horn shouldn't be part of the long term plan and be here after his rookie deal is over. His injury history says we shouldn't extend him to money.
-
he is marketable in the sense he is a high tier player when healthy and has another year on his rookie deal. So if you are a good team. He would make a lot of sense if you had a hole in your secondary. we can't extend his contract. not to a deal that matches his talent. we aren't going to do anything of note next year. Right thing for us given his history would be to let him walk. I would trade him if you could find a deal for him.
