last year's joint practice was super hyped around here if I am not mistaken...at the time. -

If you want argue wearing a red jersey and not be able to be touched, where defenders can’t actually fully pressure and impact a QB and play….and where a QB can get the ball out on dead plays essentially….is the same a legit preseason game with live fire? Have at it. Maybe Tepper will hire you next. to date, this OL has never blocked a single down where Bryce was at risk and they all our playing by someone new…and Bryce hasn’t thrown a pass since last year under fear of actually being smashed. Given how bad we are….my unqualified opinion is he probably needs it. the but a Panther said X behind a microphone so it must be true defense has proven for years to be joke. -

The teams mentioned also largely have locked in QBs and QBs they paid. They teams just need their QBs to be healthy. We are still trying to grow a functional one and find out if he can be a functional QB. -

I love this logic that gets trotted out over and over. sports is sports. drills are drills. practice is practice. Scrimmage is scrimmage. Games are games. Everything is unique and it's own thing. My son and I even go over this as he is prepping for his football season. Controls vary. You have more and less depending on which we are talking about. There are controls in scrimmage play. There are pros to that. Coaches have it. Looks can be dictated. Red jersey always a different environment. To get and see what you want to see. But Bryce is trotting out a narrative for a reason. Which is what I addressed. We have a tiny QB, that struggles behind massive line play......if you remove him getting hit from the equation....it provides a totally different scenario. QB play changes. Line play changes. I don't have to play QB in the NFL to understand practice, scrimmage, preseason, and an actual games are all different animals. Bryce needs to rep in his brand new O, behind in brand new OL, where he faces being hit, and operating the O. Because it puts him in the fullest version of a real game he can get to and brings his biggest issues actually into play with consequences. -

yeah, and it really highlights that he knows he isn't playing IMO. When been listening to folks BS about things way longer than he has been attempting. But it's Canales fault for not having a plan he is willing to just put on the table. -

it's funny how these dudes think a fanbase that has been through the Rhule and Frank eras can't sniff out bologna. Might as well just man up and say your plan. Not really blaming Bryce there, that's Canales. -

Bryce Young knows he isn't playing the preseason Scrimmages aren't game reps/simulations. There is a difference. -

Well that makes life a lot easier for some folks, really want to see our interior OL deal with him HOT TAKE I find the most sensual part of a woman's body to be the boobies -
Bryce controls that. Heck, the bar for Bryce to temporarily stop the complaining is actually comically low at this point too.

Would the Carolina Panthers move on from QB Bryce Young?
CRA replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
my expectation last year was top 32. He failed that. He could of lost every freaking game for all I care and just showed legit wow moments here or there. That would have been fine. Scariest part of Bryce Young...he never really had any moments that showed he should of been drafted high, let alone mortgaging the farm for him at #1. Bryce looks like a pretty clear deficiency to date for the O. He bring the O down, playcalling down, WR play down and skews how the D plays. -

I'm not rooting for a bad day for the Panthers, but I would be shocked if the reports of today's practice with the Jets are good. a hotdog is not sandwich, it's actually a taco. -
Would the Carolina Panthers move on from QB Bryce Young?

I’d rather watch PJ Walker. Not even joking. I’ll take a bad Delhomme variant over some conservative weak QB play. Football is suppose to be entertaining. The entire league has shifted to O. I don’t care to watch us try to win ugly every week to squeak by with 4 wins on the year -
Would the Carolina Panthers move on from QB Bryce Young?

I mean, yeah, I think Bryce this season is battling for his job to an extent. I think he has to climb the ladder after such a bad year or any well run team would move on. -
not gonna lie, Canales singing 3 Little Birds feels a little mattrhuley
-
I mean, as I said, it's a message board. There is naturally some cooked in hyperbole. But his out routes sucked. Tons were almost picked.
-
I still got 3 Huddle bucks and 8 cool points on Canales not playing Bryce at all.
-
Um, it's a message so there is a bit of extra flavor on that....but making it up? No. Bryce Young's out routes sucked last year. Tons were almost picked. Didn't say the DT intercepted an out route. There were 2 different picks acknowledged. The out route and then the DT one. You claimed Bryce was testing the limits. Nothing about those plays suggests that.
-
Testing his limits getting picked on an out route (almost every single one he threw last year was in jeopardy of getting picked)......and picked by a DT? Testing his limits would be getting picked on a 40 yarder downfield where his WR lost a 50/50 battle.
-
defensively, I struggle once I get past Brown, Horn, Shaq and Clowney....yet that probably is the best part about the team lol. I mean, technically, I can go further but not with the ease of prior eras.
-
the Green Bay game wasn't even a good game. It was just a good 4th quarter aided by penalties and a hurt GB team. Reich isn't horrendous. Reich is average. He was horrendous because he didn't have a functional QB to run his O. Bryce isn't going to be able to run anything that resembles what Canales has been around in the NFL either.

Why Dave Canales needs live reps with his first-team?
CRA replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think it depends on the situation. Bill Belichick didn't need preseason w/ Tom Brady. Canales has never been a HC. Canales has only called plays 1 year. Canales is now going to be doing BOTH....and on top of that doing it with a green not very good QB. and most really good QBs, like Mahomes, Allen, Burrow want reps going into a season. You only get 17 games. They ain't got time to go in cold and figure out. I guarantee you a Mahomes would want get out there for example with his never been a center center and see some real reps with him before the season starts. Probably wants that OL that features not a single person who has played beside someone before to take some live shots and reps before it matters. Practice far too controlled and predictable. -
Not on the outside he ain't. I mean, DBs just got to overplay the slant and inside stuff.
-
Nah. Blame cycles are a thing. Carolina most likely just has to acknowledge they don’t have a QB to compete.

I have embraced the fact trainwrecks provide their own form of entertainment.
