ACC just overall is horrible this year IMO. Increases the odds of fraudulent teams record wise emerging. Take that FSU team at 4.

How would you rank all the Panthers QBs that have started a game?

and that’s all I have really ever said. People take that as PJ praise. It’s just recognition of what Sam is -

Same tier QB. And yeah, and if you rank them you put the dude with a winning record over the course of 3 years when he was called upon ahead of Sam Darnold. I weigh the starts more heavily than total career numbers. They are both bad backup caliber QBs. You insert PJ into a game that is already lost and I don’t really care about those bad numbers. He is a bad gunslinger. What you want PJ to do down double digits inserted late? Play smart? That’s pointless IMO. Go down in a blaze of horrific glory. Which he often did lol. Think he had 3 picks late in one of those games. -
Matt Rhule having a trump card in his back pocket (contractually) if and when he ever wanted to pull it…never meant he was using on everything Rhule even addressed that narrative when going out the door. And no one in Carolina ever pushed back on that. It’s safe IMO to say Fitt owns a large portion of the Rhule era mess with Rhule. And like you said, it’s the same issues to a large degree with Fitt both with and without Rhule. And that’s because Fitt is a problem.

I’ve always said PJ Walker is every bit as good as Sam Darnold. If you didn’t know their draft status they would be the same tier QB. and in a Panther ranking I would put PJ ahead of Darnold. -

Matt Moore > Sam Darnold Moore finished his time in Carolina above .500 as a starter -
I still get a giggle out of all the Panther front office defenders that have spent weeks calling people conspiracy theorist for acknowledging stuff is dicey behind the scenes and whatever the company is selling doesn’t smell right. Frank gave the signal when he talked about his unpleasant Dave convos right before he turned play calling over. And then suddenly out of nowhere gave Thomas Brown the playcalling. Frank wasn’t speaking the truth there. Not saying he should speak it. Just that he wasn’t speaking the truth about what was going on. That clearly wasn’t his plan all along. and when Thomas Brown started calling an even worse version of Frank’s O than Frank…it looks to of got ramped up again on Frank again by Dave. Frank’s job is in jeopardy. That’s what the clear sign is at this point. And it frankly should be. For all Tepper’s flaws and issues…..Frank has done a really poor job and done so from the jump. Tepper being horrible doesn’t mean he isn’t right about Frank doing a subpar job. Frank and Fitt both need to go at the end of this year. Dave needs to hire someone to run the team and let them hire a new HC/GM.

Frank Reich has never done it any other way. It’s stil primarily a Frank issue. He hasn’t had the talent to make it work before. He doesn’t change.

Horn, CJ Henderson, Haynes, Hayden Hurst OUT for Sunday

that's what gambling and daily fantasy football is for. I'm going heavy w/ Tony Pollard. This is his get right week. -
it's hard to believe there isn't some legit turmoil/problems behind the scenes. Too many actions in a small window that don't make sense. Frank handing the playcalling to Brown never really made sense. At least how he explained it didn't. Frank claimed he somehow got the O in a good place and this was the plan. and now taking it away doesn't really make sense. Brown has never even called a legit preseason game. He was going to have bumps and have to learn. And you somehow managed to win one of those games. With a game winning drive. I mean, they sucked. But they sucked before. I think Frank has had a lot of unpleasant conversations. I think Tepper has zero patience. And Tepper saw last year here and around the league this year like with the Raiders, that sometimes, it's just your head coach, and you can change that pretty easy. Problem is a finding a long term solution. Maybe Tepper needs to start smaller. Find someone that is just decent and respectable that can handle what you got. We are back to frankly need a Rivera/Fox type. We need someone to right this pooshow to just being a .500ish middle of the back org.

I'll go the 2000 era Lions. That's what I consider us. A do nothing team that lives in the top 10 pick world for a decade.

The HC is a DC. So the O gets to be the O. They hired a young guy from the Kyle Shanahan tree that was their passing coordinator. So yeah, in the year 2023, that seems like a MUCH smarter direction/coaching for an O than our plan of hiring the fired Frank Reich. and the Matt Rhule 2020 (with CMC hurt) offense was clearly better than what we are doing in 2023. That unit actually got some overachieving praise. It wasn't good but their was good within it. Heck, even the Matt Rhule 2021 O when we had to fire Joe Brady...was still performing better than us today. I think Houston probably does have better offensive coaching. It's 2023.

Evidence of Tepper meddling in football operations?
CRA replied to TeppersEgos's topic in Carolina Panthers
Buying the Panthers was about diversifying and growing his wealth. Simple as that. Good or bad team, recent history has shown it has no impact. How the actual football team does? Well, that is the toy aspect of it all. And the Teppers IMO haven't hidden that. And you can look at his wife for the most glaring example of it all. A couple crash courses and she is involved in operations, scouting and coaching lol. -
History is Repeating Itself with Frank Reich as a Play-caller
CRA replied to DFive's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thomas Brown about to be done even dirtier IMO. It's all setting up for him to be the scapegoat IMO. Well, if I had a good OC I wouldn't have to be doing so much. Thomas wasn't ready. I just showed you Mr. Tepper. He couldn't make my horrific offense better. Same thing happened last year. Frank threw his non-playcalling under the bus first. Only twist this time is Frank let Thomas call a couple games (which I don't think was ever the actual plan in 2023). #All Star Staff seems to already be entering scapegoat season. So the question is simply when Bryce and the O continue to be what they are now that Frank is back in the saddle......where do they ultmiately point the finger. Because that is always the game in the NFL. They all do it. Every single HC enters those moments at some point. I actually think Campen is first up. I think Frank starts there. But after that, I think Frank fully demotes Brown out of OC. We see Jim Caldwell. Because Christmas season and scapegoat season are both about to arrive. And that's when bodies go under the bus. It never fails. Someone has to be at fault. That's how the NFL functions. -
History is Repeating Itself with Frank Reich as a Play-caller
CRA replied to DFive's topic in Carolina Panthers
Go back to when he was fired in SD….its all the same. One constant. -
Frank Reich has already done tremendous damage to Thomas Browns' stock. That's the reality. Bet you that all star staff sees that reality. He set him up to fail. He wasn't brought in to call plays. He didn't let him get play calling reps coming into the season. He is basically a rookie himself. He gave him the keys of one of the worst offenses in the entire NFL (totally not because he was getting heat from his boss).....and then stripped him of the duties after 3 games (that featured our only win).
-
and Doug Pederson was the one who actually ran the Eagles O. Frank was Thomas Brown. He wasn't calling and running that O. Of course, he was Thomas Brown in Philly....because he had just gotten fired for his horrific O in San Deigo. I have been preaching it for some time. Look at the end of Frank's run in SD and Indy. It's all the same issues. The issue is Frank. It's his O. And his inability to adjust when he doesn't have the talent. And when his weaknesses shows he just doubles down. More shotgun. More run game implosion. More predictable passing.
-
Frank Reich didn’t even let Thomas Brown call a preseason game. Frank let him come on late when the future insurance salesman were on the field. Dumb management on his part. A green OC is like a rookie QB. They need reps. They need time to grow and learn. But that’s also one of many reasons I don’t think Frank wanted to turn playcalling over when he did. His reasoning was always bologna. Which he sort of concedes in reality. Think that is/was Tepper pressure. And that is when Frank was also conceding a hands on owner was displeased and in his ear. so it didn’t work. Now Frank gets to say, see it wasn’t me being bad. A green OC who never even called a preseason game was worse in a tiny sample size. It’s a clown show.

How many "retread" head coaches actually pan out?!?
CRA replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
generally speaking. and QB is the kingmaker. but I mean, some coaches are clearly better than others. And you generally can see how good a coach is in bad times too. Can they overachieve? Or do they make a bad roster look even worse. I think Frank is a guy that doesn't make people look better. -
Bills fire OC Ken Dorsey, promote former Panthers OC Joe Brady

McD isn’t Rhule though. So they probably will practice the red zone and actually punching it in. -
Do we really go the whole season without some sort of change?
CRA replied to Killah_Ray's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean I think Brown easily could get fired. Frank fired his non-playcalling OC in Indy last year too. But it’s Frank. Frank’s the problem. normally that would be the move. I just don’t think it works for Frank. Generally when people pull the scapegoat move they weren’t just canned themselves for the same repeating problems. Frank’s got to change the trend this season IMO with his O -

CRA replied to Killah_Ray's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thomas Brown doesn’t actually work though as a scapegoat for Frank….because Frank was just fired a year ago for this exact same stuff. -
Tepper inherited an old school traditional textbook HC -his first hire was a 180 on that. Risky and bold. The collegiate HC hire - then he course corrected to the extreme post Rhule. He went 180 again but brought in even older and more traditional types. So….I’ll just repeat the pattern. Another 180. Which I don’t think is wrong. The idea behind Matt Rhule was correct. Rhule just wasn’t it. I don’t know who it will be. I predict young. And unlike Rhule, NFL chops and inventive.

Tepper might could hire a drunk huddler for the night to call the picks on draft day and it yield just as good of results as Fitt
