  1. Oregon coach is the one getting all the talk on the interwebs Dabo more likely to pull a Saban and just retire IMO. Saban and Dabo both tried to talk to folks about the NIL era and nobody wanted to listen. New era ain’t for either one.
  2. I think he means suck like the Gamecocks. Not finishing up an irrelevant #20 in the nation type suck.
  3. Yep. No point following Saban or Belichick. Better to be the dude after the dude that replaces them (and it likely won’t be a long time)
  4. People have talked about Dabo to Bama for years. But a move makes zero sense for Dabo IMO. Dabo is basically number 2 to Saban in this era. He gains nothing by going in behind and being worse. Just hurts his stock and legacy….and it’s harder to be nationally relevant for him there vs where he is now because of the competition.
  5. No. The Eagles told us about Miles Sanders and folks here wouldn’t listen. This guy isn’t it. He is getting fired. Eagles figured out it was his OC that was getting it done. This dude always has been suspect. Goes back to his first presser when hired IMO.
  6. what would be interesting is to see a list of who this firm has helped in the past and look at how that panned out. I know the owner had Chelsea/soccer ties but they do NBA, NFL, and everything apparently
  7. yo, I know a little QB you need to meet.
  8. some people are just learning about Derrick Brown. you see guys gets hosed all the time in dominant early seasons of their career. And the reverse holds, where you got guys living off prior years and not actually earning the status in the present. in fairness, no one is watching Brown play this year. Only if you were forced to watch us because we played your team.
  9. the 49ers are 17-4 with Purdy behind C. Brock Purdy isn't a bust even if you use the most creative mental gymnastics imaginable. That is called a steal. He doesn't have to be THE reason they win. He doesn't get in there way of winning. He isn't a problem. And in theory, Mr. Irrelevant SHOULD be a problem if you had to play him as rookie or 2nd year player. He is a homerun draft pick.
  10. this. you want a GM to buy in to what the HC believes in and do what he wants largely. Not the other way around. but you aren't prioritizing the HC....by tell him you are going to start hand picking his staff. He should get full control of his staff.
  11. I mean the first part is right, I do think they should prioritize HC....and then you find a good compliment to him in the GM. second part is Tepper not learning, you don't get to make the staff. Your new HC gets to do that.
  12. yeah, we were already virtually dead last in points allowed. Opponents didn't need to really push the envelope offensively on us. NFL defenses shouldn't be "ranked" on just yardage. We couldn't sack the QB, we couldn't take the ball away and we aren't a good run defense.
  13. I think analytics is exactly how we ended up with Webster as our NFL QB. It's numbers. It doesn't account for some obvious eyeball stuff and instincts.
  14. an interim ST coach wasn't game planning the O and D. Caldwell/Brown were doing that. Ejiro and Dom. just straight up in game management (which isn't talking about playcalls)....Tabor was strong with the little stuff.
  15. end of the day, it just sucks for Ejiro. Panthers preventing him from being looked at early. DC jobs that he might want and likely get hired for will fill. He will be stuck choosing from the leftover gigs.
  16. that's the equivalent of saying Bryce Young wouldn't of had a better season if he was dropped into the 49ers.
  17. the worst officiated game I can recall outside the 2015 Super Bowl. We straight up looked to be the better team vs 49ers in the first half yet trailed by 3. You knew the game was over at that point.
  18. Vrabel is the best coach candidate IMO and the Chargers is the best gig. I'd hire him today if I were them. Patriots is a tough spot. Following a legend is never a fun spot. And the roster sucks.
  19. Icing on the cake is 2010 and 2001 were the end of eras/regimes. Being bad made sense. You could stomach that. 2023 was supposed to be the start of something good. You weren't supposed to be that bad. Designed to be a window of hope not the end of something.
  20. 2023 is the worst. Worst talent. then 2010 then 2001 I'd put money on both of those teams beating the 2023 squad. 2001 was the most competitive despite the record. 2010 was the best actual roster of the 3. Way more than this squad. Fox was a dead man walking and didn't give a rip. I think he enjoyed having Clausen implode it all. You can't tell me with that OL and RBs.....they couldn't of lined up ran at the 2023 and beat them fairly easily if the coach wanted to. Hubbard would have been battling Mike Goodson for 3rd on the depth chart on that squad and it probably would have been a battle. Depth on that OL would have started for the 2023 squad too.
  21. it's actually crazy. Most teams these days have a pretty easy time fixing the WR spot when they want to. And they transition fast in today's with the rules catering to the pass game. I definitely don't think you can give QBs and WRs the same timetable they had back in the day. It doesn't take 3 years to show your stuff. If you can't show you are special early given the NFL has basically fixed the league for their success....it likely ain't happening.
  22. you don't think Zach Wilson (who still went #2 overall) would have had an even better college resume playing at Bama vs BYU?
  23. I mean, if Bryce Young played at BYU.....Bryce likely isn't the #1 overall pick. Bryce had the best roster in college football to aid him.
