Rizzuti & USA Today on prospects we've talked with
CRA replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
that's why i think he can fall to 4-5. He was CMC lite in college. He doesn't project that same lite status to me in the NFL. I see him as a pure 3rd down RB in the NFL. Which is the current big void in our backfield. You be drafting a niche/roleplayer. But I think he could fill it....and most 4-5 rounders have low odds of even sticking to the roster. That's why I like those rounds for your RB committee. even if they don't get him, I want them to draft that type RB. I don't need them to be able to play early downs. You got 2 guys on the roster for those downs. Bryce needs a natural pass catcher. -
Officially Entering My Vote for WR Keon Coleman

dude had 600 yards out of the ACC.... and he wasn't top WR in yards per reception. I'm only knocking him at 33 given who else is going to be likely available. I'd say his main strength was contested catches at FSU. I just think there are more explosive players. I just don't love either of the FSU guys this year. I'd love a late flier on their QB though. -

homerism aside, I like Shipley in rounds 4-5. Think he would mesh well with our current backfield setup. Natural rec out of the backfield. I hope we never sign a FA RB again. -

yeah, same people claiming I over value the 40 in this Coleman talk overlook at got Mitchell over Worthy too. and if you look at Coleman's draft evaluations. What are his weakness. They all come back to some variation of route running, separation, etc. at this next level. Often in the praise section about him being able to body guys. No one until recently was begging for what Coleman represents given the state of the Panthers. We all have talked about how flawed the KB logic was for Cam. IMO, this is more of the same. We need speed. And we might need quickness even more than that. -

yeah, Mingo seems to fall into the developmental window. I don't think we should be inking him into occupying any role on this O. He needs a lot of work before he become dependable. You definitely don't want to not draft someone because of him. -

I mean this class is freaking loaded. 40 times ain’t everything. A 4.6 in THIS class is still a 4.6 if we are talking the 33rd pick. not to mention we have seen tons of these tweeter almost TE types at WR. Here and elsewhere. I’ve done nothing but talk about adding speed and quickness for months upon months at the position. Who we are matters. We got none. but go ahead Gettlemen… -

And Cam ended up going to the Super Bowl with what….the additions of speed. Ginn and Philly. As irrelevant as people thought Philly was, Cam spoke about even a meh speed guy going down in the Super Bowl was brutal. TE play was provided by the TE. -

And I absolutely hate the idea of getting some big TE ish WR specifically because of Bryce Young issues. A QB that will have to defy all sorts of odds to be the guy. we added a TE in FA last year….and he had his worst year in his last half decade in the league. I want a quick/fast WR and a rec RB in this draft class. Both should be easy to get if we want them. -

He was essentially a TE that bodied people. We need speed. We need explosive playmakers. I don’t like either of the FSU WRs at the next level. Basically tweeners and we have done that ride before with KB and Fun Fun -

Think he was trying to make up for such a bad 40. It’s why he couldn’t cut up field on the last ball and ran off field. -

He ran a 4.6 yesterday. 2nd worst time of all WRs. That ain’t what we need IMO. Not at 33. Not with all the speed and good WRs in this draft- 77 replies

I like his teammate Mitchell more. Ran the 4.3. The owners of the fastest combine WR runs also don’t have a great track record so you can only put so much in it. Mitchell has the speed and NFL body
-
They won’t but I wish they would go back to back WR in the 2nd and 3rd. There are too many good ones in this draft.

Clemson RB - Shipley in sweats and not participating. Best all purpose RB IMO in the draft. Would love him in the 5th. He would be a nice way to round out the RB committee and a more natural recieving type to insert.

Here come the Redskins (*nothing piece MSN article)
CRA replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep. Once they went to Football Team they should have stayed with it. basically taking a soccer ish name actually worked being the lone duck in the NFL with it -
I’d trade the pick for a ton of picks. Caleb Williams is a mega tool, massive headache, and carries higher odds of flat out busting than a Luck/Trevor/factory robot type. smart play is to trade him and keep roster building. Even if you eventually move on from Fields I think that leads to the best outcome for the team.

I still don’t buy Reich. It was Fitterer and his team. Which IMO means Morgan and company agreed. I always go to the point guard talk and saving money line was a GM sales talk Tepper repeated. Fitterer and company were positioned to have the pull. Not some just fired HC that looked like he was done with it from the jump when he got the pieces given to him.

When was the last time a potential #1 overall QB came off as unlikable as Caleb Williams. I sure wouldn’t want to draft this kid. It’s not confidence. He seems like a giant tool that made too much money already… Or maybe it’s just me

I mean, it’s news worthy for the huddle. And only the huddle. Nowhere else does anyone care what Nicole’s preference was

It’s not damage control….to say you clown a NFL owner that his wife was smarter than him.
-
Board was all over the map on the QB I was Stroud but would accept any of the 3 in the end voter
-
apparently it was clear enough that folks bust Tepper’s balls over it.

Payton says a lot. Especially the one that didn’t want Wilson Brees wasn’t just one of 1 of 11 making a couple plays a game. Brees threw for 5000+ yards in single season….a literal half decade. No one in NFL history is even close to that comical passing load so many seasons. Brady and Peyton combined have 3 seasons hitting 5k.

Chase had a 1700+ season with 20 TDs out of a tougher SEC. Harrison had nothing like that with Stroud. Chase had 4.3 speed with great hands. I don’t look at Harrison and think he is a different league from that.
