  1. 2001 was a 1-15 team, but played hard and loss 9 games by one score or less. That team would beat the current team if they played this week.
  2. I just hope that Tepper is holding off bc he doesn't have an adequate interim since everyone on the staff aside from Sean Ryan and Chase Blackburn is a Rhule follower. At the very least, Tepper needs to take away some of Rhule's power, power he shouldn't have had in the first place, and make him fire some of these poo, college level assistants for guys with long-time NFL experience. If Tepper does nothing, and Rhule stands pat with Jeff Nixon as OC (like we all know he'll do if it is his choice), remember this. When we get to training camp, and we inevitably start seeing the training camp fluff pieces about Jeff Nixon blooming into his role as OC and how Darnold is finally turning the corner as a leader, don't believe it.
  3. There's no more to been seen from Darnold. Next year will be his 5th year, it's time accept treat him like the Blaine Gabbert's of the world, not some rookie or 2nd year with potential.
  4. Also, nearly everyone on staff aside from Sean Ryan is a long-time Rhule guy. You fire Rhule before the end of the season, then we may have worry about staff leaving early with him, leaving us without coaching staff for the rest of the season. Not sure if that has ever happened before, but Rhule has brought in so many of his long-time followers, that I feel it is definitely possible.
  5. I could have sworn Venebles was all but a done deal for OU. Stoops was vouching for him.
  6. We desperately need more picks. I feel like Fitterer might take a weak deal to trade back to recoup the missing 2nd and/or 3rd rounder.
  7. Okay, so I'm watching this punter live rn and he really is the college punter GOAT. He has an insane leg and he can do directional.
  8. I wanted Michael Rubin (the Fanatics guy) too. I believe Joseph Tsai was attached with him. I think the NFL owners were wary of him bc he allegedly had Diddy in his ownership group and Diddy had already claimed that he would bring in Kaepernick if he became minority owner.
  9. Nah, I still feel that Jones ceiling is Alex Smith. Good and will stick the league for 10+ years, but there is a reason why teams thought they could do better. Here, I feel that Jones would be pre-Harbaugh Alex Smith.
  10. 1st round bust, probably bad but still better than what we got. Bring him in.
  11. Most people are still expecting Rodgers to be gone this offseason, so I doubt they would be interested.
  12. If we traded for Watson, Panthers PR is going to delay any press conferences for as long as they can. When they can't anymore, they are going to try to screen the questions, which will also end in disaster. Rhule, Fitterer, and probably even Tepper himself will be subject to extensive questions that I doubt they would be able to give a good answer for. It would be peak embarrassment.
  13. I was on the fence, but now I can fully say that if Penn State loses Franklin and calls to inquire about Rhule, Tepper better have his ears open to working out a payout. Let's get an NFL coach. Penn State was supposedly Rhule's college "dream job".
  14. I doubt Mac Jones would do any better switched with Lawrence or Wilson. Fields, maybe. Patriots are doing good job managing his progress. I doubt he would make a difference here with our current personnel.
  15. This is not a playoff team rn. This happens almost every year. Win a couple games early, but reality sets in and teams start taking advantage of deficiencies that can't be schemed away. Nothing can be done now that can make a difference this season, but Moton should be the only familiar face on the starting line on opening day next week. Highest paid free agent in 2022 needs to be an Olineman. Top draft pick needs to be an OLineman. The trade deadline will be interesting this year with Fitterer as GM. Rhule needs to let go of that college coach mentality. He figures himself a fixer-upper that can coach up mediocre talent. He did that successfully at Temple and Baylor (to a lesser extent), but that's less likely in the NFL. If he can't, then the LSU and USC jobs are open and Tepper can look for an actual NFL coach.
  16. It's worth a shot regardless, we just have hope that the change in scenery and culture helps his mental and we aren't trading for a Justin Gilbert type.
  17. USC? I doubt it. However if USC takes James Franklin from Penn St I can definitely see them reaching out.
  18. Looks like "versatile/versatility" is going to be the new coaching buzzword that I hate.
  19. Fitterer needs to get on the line and convince Larry Warford to come out of retirement if he is still in shape.
  20. That's gotta be his career right there, this will be the 3rd straight season.
  21. The concern I have with Rhule is that I feel like he believes that he is fixer-upper. That can take underachieving guys and make them good. He did it with Temple and he did it with Baylor, but the NFL is a whole different animal. This insistence on shielding Darnold from scrutiny furthers my believe.
