  1. It's not about finding the answer, no body we trade for or sign will be the answer, it's about finding someone to compete with Bryce for a year in this scenario.
  2. There were fans ready to sit Cam for Derek Anderson in 2014. There were fans ready to give Kyle Allen $20 mil a year after 3 games. There were fans ready to give PJ Walker an opportunity to start a whole season.
  3. 10 years ago, Bryce would not have sniffed Day 1 or Day 2 and would probably be holding a clip board right now, bc he is a pretty intelligent guy by most accounts. Like Kellen Moore
  4. We'll likely stick with Bryce and bring in Gardner Minshew or something.
  5. Mid teens draft pick is a classic LB slot. Best value there in most years.
  6. Yep, that was the thread I was referring to in my first post in this topic. Just a crazy leap in logic. One dude in there said that he was glad we loss bc Bryce haters needed to be taught a lesson lol
  7. Nah I think its existentially old and cynical (this forum) vs young and naive (Panthers sub). This board are full of 35+ yos that have been watching this team for 20+ years. We've seen this before. Also, with Reddit subs, brigading is easy. I think Bryce getting drafted brought a bunch of Alabama fans. A Patriots fan that I talk to in another sub said that Alabama took over the Patriots sub when Mac Jones got drafted.
  8. I'm here and on the Panthers sub on Reddit and its funny how these places are on the opposite end of the spectrum in regards to Bryce. This place largely thinks Bryce doesn't have it and yesterday doesn't change if he plays. The Panthers sub largely thinks yesterday was a different game if Bryce plays and a thread doing a victory lap over Panthers playing like ass with Dalton starting is highly upvoted.
  9. Bills are 31st in rushing defense. I would be cool with trotting out Hooker and running the option all game.
  10. I think they'll split the middle with competition. I'm fairly confident that Carolina drafts another QB next year. But not in the 1st round, but like a good measurables guy in the 3rd-5th rounds. That way, they bring in another young guy, but a mid round pick won't effect any 1st round decisions for 2027.
  11. Despite the winning records, Buffalo and Green Bay has looked very beatable.
  12. It'll likely be one of the Giants backups.
  13. If Canales is fired after this season, we need to go ahead and take off any names that will have options or the ability to wqait another year or two like Ben Johnson did. So for me, the realistic top options for Carolina from that list would be: Mike McCarthy (3rd HC stint, will not be picky) Bill Belichick (NFL teams will not be knocking on his door, will not be picky) Brian Flores (tense first stint, pending lawsuit will scare teams away) Robert Salah (2nd HC stint, will probably not be picky) Mike Kafka (starpower has cooled, will need to accept a offer before it totally goes away) Arthur Smith (2nd stint, UNC may also be interested if Belichick is one and done, but he would likely prefer to stay in NFL) Jim Schwartz (2nd stint, hasn't really done interviews) Jeff Hafley (Has HC experience in college, I don't think teams will be knocking down his door, he will probably accept an offer)
  14. Mac is one a few players where the consensus about him was nearly dead on. During the draft, he was considered a low ceiling, high floor player. When your team is well coached (like the Niners) or stacked, he can be an asset and win some games. If you expect him to be a franchise QB and make bad teams average or average teams good, he's not your guy.
  15. Exactly. If we fire Canales within two years, the only options that would come here would be coaches that likely wouldn't sniff a HC elsewhere (like a longtime position coach/associate head coach) or a retread like Mike McCarthy or Bill Belichick. We won't be in consideration for anybody with options.
  16. He'll be a competent backup in this league. Someone who can come in with minimal pressure on his shoulders and look competent. He'll be the backup that the fans beg to get an opportunity when the starter is struggling. He is not a franchise guy that can make a bad team look okay or a middling team look good.
  17. Unless the lockerroom straight up collapses, I think he gets three years. Carolina wasn't particularly an attractive destination last go round, firing another coach 2 years in would not help.
  18. I agree with this. They are some here that believes Bryce will be out the league. I disagree, he'll be a decent backup for a while, I think. He showed at the back half of last season that he is capable of stringing good games together when the season is over and the pressure is off. . . just like a backup QB. You see that from a lot of 2nd string QBs. They come in for whatever reason and look good, then after a game or two, they show why they are not a starter. Bryce can play well when the season is effectively over, but now that its the start of the season and the pressure is back on, he goes back to bad habits.
  19. Keep an eye on Dante Moore from Oregon. I think he is gonna fly up the draft boards.
  20. I could give the benefit of the doubt for one dropped accusation. Two is a trend.
  21. It's a calf strain, probably would have kept him out a game if it wasn't the end of the season. Might as well IR him and get another roster spot
  22. A vet that can start will definitely be on the roster, but I don't think it'll be Dalton due to his age. We basically saw his arm confidence fall off in real time. I think it'll someone younger, like Drew Lock (as previously mentioned) or Marcus Mariota.
  23. Dalton is clearly better when he is fresh, but the issue is that he is 37 and we could see his arm confidence fall off in real time. I would keep Bryce in until he puts in another inevitable stinker. Next year, we need to sign a younger veteran QB to replace Dalton.
