Hi Frank, I think college highlights can be presented in an argument about arm strength. Throwing the ball with velocity is the same no matter what league or competition it is. Now if you want to argue results from college are no longer relevent, OK, I see that. But his throws that went 50-60 air yards etc are still just as applicable now.

Somewhere around that. You know who else didn't have a strong arm? The GOAT , Tom Brady. All that matters is that you can make every throw. The rest just adds some flash and gives you a little more leeway in tight windows.
-
I don't know that it really even matters much. He can make every throw. He just needs to anticipate throws more. It's an NFL caliber arm even if it's on the lower end of the spectrum. Josh Allen can wait and squeeze an 10 yard out in extremely tight window and late. Bryce can make the same throw but has to throw before the separation occurs.

We pretty much just became John Fox ball with Wilk's. Power run football. Not really anything like this west coast style offense.

The adults are trying to take back over. Stay and post and maybe we can drive them off.

I think it comes off that way too. There is a reason he got this job and it's not to be a yes man. Tepper wants to win. Badly. Sometimes too badly which is why he meddled. So why would Tepper want to promote a guy who wants to keep status quo from a team that was 2-15. Morgan's interview had to be similar to this presser: our team is soft, they are mentally weak. We need to cut the chaff and bring in guys with grit. My opinion at least.

He's a FA but I would approve of bringing him back. I thought he was very underutilized even when he was healthy.

No pun intended there. I think there are multiple options with the OL. Canales moved Wirfs from RT to LT last season in TB. I think we could draft or sign a new center and move Bozeman to guard. Try Christensen at LT again. I think any FA signing will be an interior lineman just because of the sheer costs of LT/RT though.

Nobody has to agree. This isn't and shouldn't be an echo chamber. But at least talk about the topic and make it worthwhile. Me and you have argued Bryce for several months now. But it's at least football based arguments. Not the poo I expect from my 12 year old son when he's mad.

Guy should be banned. Doesn't make a single post contributing to anything. Just trolling everybody else.

Rumor of Burns traded to Baltimore (probably baseless rumor)
jamos14 replied to JawnyBlaze's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hard to say. I'm certainly hoping so. It's hard to be much worse than Fitterer was. We have a new general manager now. And a new VP football operations. And a new coach with new player types. -
Any specific reasons?

That was his goal.

You are 1000% correct. Talent is king. The difference between a successful team and non successful teams is how that talent thrives and grows there. A lot of it has to do with coaching and X's and O's. But if a talented player is drafted and goes to an organization that doesn't have the culture that meshes with him and his personality, it's going to show. Brian Burns seems to be an example of that guy. I think he's a good player but he is obviously not the kind of player that we are wanting to build around (from our view externally). Maybe he goes to a place where the culture matches him more; let stars be stars and the other guys do the dirty work. And he may end up with 12 sacks as a Ram or something. It's definitely a buzz word but it's a very real thing. I think it's a difference between the Army and the Marine Corps. The Marines have a very different culture than the Army. They start out recruiting the same people but the ones that end up choosing the Marines typically are the ones that have something to prove with a chip on their shoulder. Same thing can apply to draft picks and free agents. Two players grade very closely but one of them has that attitude of "grinding" and loving to compete. You choose the guy that matches you.

It's possible but I don't think those two names prove anything. I don't think Evero was involved with that. From Person's article, it was offensive staff. All the defensive guys were on the same team with each other. Canales clearly wants him to stay. Doesn't sound like it's a Tepper mandate. And Caldwell's character never struck me as the kind of guy to be involved in that. And I think his position as senior analyst or whatever kept him out of the day to day muck.

I agree, Dan is a little awkward. But what came across to me was genuine passion to rebuild the culture and physicality that defined the Panthers when he was here.

You almost tried to talk football. But you couldn't help yourself but reverting back to the internet troll in your heart.

Joe Person asked the hardest question to Dan Morgan. Asked about how they keep using "alignment" and if that's so important because of what happened last year with the reports of the coaching staff being fractured and friction all the way up to ownership level.
-
And that was when Matt Ryan was still in his prime. Can he find another Shannahan?
-
That's a cool personal memento to keep himself humble. I like that.
-
Who should we believe? The random internet troll that nobody likes or the 41 year old hotshot coach that has gotten great results out of 3 QBs. Seriously, why are you even here? You don't contribute anything to any conversation. Just antagonize people.

Go be a Commanders fan and cheer for Dan Quinn.

Culture isn't the solution to the team being better next year. But it is the solution to building long term stability. And, yea , I think you nailed it. Holding each accountable. Fighting to the whistle. Calling out laziness at practice. Competing everywhere. All that is where culture impacts an organization.
-
He definitely ripped the attitude of this past years team. Turnover going to be high over next 24 months and we need it. I hope he sets the example by trading Burns. Everybody knows that even the "star" will be gone if they don't toughen up.

You are insufferable.
