  1. The Saints brass met with Deshaun Watson a second time last night, according to sources.
  2. It really is fuged up the way the cap can be manipulated with all the dummy/void years. NFL needs to fix that loophole.
  3. Watson to New Orleans. The Saints have restructured the contracts of QB Taysom Hill, CB Bradley Roby, LB DeMario Davis and S Malcolm Jenkins to clear major cap space, per source. The Saints are now officially at $29.9M in cap space
  4. Heavy rumors that Tepper pushing hard for QB is why we are mentioned with every QB on the planet including the Teddy and Sam debacle. But maybe they are wrong. I would give Tep benefit of the doubt but his decision making has been extremely flawed with the Hurney decision and now Rhule.
  5. Source of what? Have you not seen all the articles about Tepper pushing hard to chase all these QBs no matter what? That's what I'm referring to.
  6. I can respect that too. The part that bugs me is the reading the reports about him forcing his football decisions on his staff. That's not using his influence in the right way. And him not firing Rhule and keeping Hurney but hey, that's another issue.
  7. I think wanting to pursue big names and all that is great. What I don't like is that HE is the one that is in these meetings and leading the charge. It needs to be the football guys doing this. Hire smart guys and let them do their job. And give them leeway to do things their way.
  8. They want more CMC in a more flexed role with 2 backs on the field and a goal line back since Cam isn't there. And Chuba sucks.
  9. I don't think he chooses Carolina. Realistically, why would he? At this point, all I hope is that he chooses Cleveland because I don't want to play him 4x a year. He is too damn good.
  10. New Orleans would just obliterate us for years if they get him. That's the toughest pill to swallow.
  11. What offer of assets can they even make?
  12. There are a lot of teams that will be interested in trading for him. Saints, Bucs, Eagles, Colts, Seahawks, Steelers are definitely watching closely. It won't be cheap and anybody thinking Panthers are the only team interested are blind. All of the legal stuff aside, 3 1sts and 2 starters is way too much for a team that has so many holes even for a Top 5 QB.
  13. I'm a no and no. From a pure football perspective, he is going to cost more than Wilson just cost. But he is arguably more talented. Problem is we are WAY more than 1 player away from competing IMO. I won't stop being a Panther fan either. It will feel "icky" with him on the team but the whole situation is full of gray. He obviously has had vey questionable moral decision making (putting it mildly) but I don't know that I will call him a rapist or sexual predator unless grandy jury sees enough to indict. I don't personally like having to discuss potential sexual assault with my teams QB but won't give up my fandom.
  14. And players don't magically get better in their 5th season either. This whole contract is awful.
  15. He is basically making Kyle Rudolph/Blake Jarwin money. Manhertz (a blocking only TE) is made 6.5 mil.
  16. Yes. And I hated Teddy. But if the answer was Teddy or Sam, it's Teddy. (and I thought Sam would have been an upgrade). Because we sank double $$$ and incredibly valuable draft capital. We'd be sitting good with a lot more cash and draft picks if we just kept Teddy for 2021.
  17. The worst part is that we all know that Rhule is going to give up future assets to try to save his ass. And destroy any chance of us getting a good coach next season because draft capital and salary cap will be non existent. Nobody will want to come.
  18. He is incredibly financially savvy. But I think that's what he cares about at this point. He changed the grass to turf against the wishes of every player because it saves him maintenance money. He is leaving a lame duck HC in place because he stupidly gave him a 7 year deal and doesn't want to pay another coach. And he invested all this money into building a soccer team so that people will still fill the seats all the while letting his football team crash and burn. The morale is so low among fans. We have NO hope at all with Rhule.
  19. Yes. And he knows it too. Which is why he has completely ducked any media since the season ended. This is a bad sign for the Panthers going forward (way beyond the Rhule years) because Tepper is in over his head, too prideful to correct his bad mistakes (AND a coward).
  20. I still can't fathom how Tepper let it get to this point. It's obvious to everyone that Rhule will make decisions that don't help the team long term but only to save his own ass. And we are a laughing stock. Rhule sucks as a coach. But this is all Tepper's fault. He has let it get to this point. Can't expect Rhule to fire himself.
