  1. I don't disagree as a pure WR. But there could easily be stuff keeping Mingo ahead for now (playbook knowledge, blocking assignments, blocking ability). That stuff matters but isn't as clear to fans.
  2. He didn't want to be here. Morgan already said that. We offered him similar sized deal but he was sold on playing with Dan Quinn's scheme. But I agree, he is a big loss. He had soul.
  3. Unfortunately, it was clear as soon as they showed him coming the tent. Have to assume he is retiring. Hate it for him. Our defense is toast the rest of the year.
  4. There is no incentive to getting rid of him right now. 1. It's highly unlikely he will be a locker room cancer. 2. Trade value will be highest in offseason before the draft 3. We might need him as a backup and he knows the system. 4. Maybe he actually regains some confidence and get better (unlikely but still).
  5. Dalton will get this shot the rest of the year. But there is no chance he can get more than another one year deal. And he will have to have competition brought in for next season. He is 36 already.
  6. I think it depends on how the draft falls and where we are. I think this is a weak class so not a great season for needing a QB. I don't see Carson Beck as being a future NFL starter. Maybe Ewers if the staff loves him. And I want nothing to do with Shaduer Sanders. Give me Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter or trade back.
  7. By all means, Canales and Morgan brought in an OL to give him a pocket. And Bryce somehow got worse. I still don't think Canales should be expected to win. But we need to look like a professional football team. I actually have more faith in Canales that he was willing to make this decision; it's an incredibly difficult thing to do. But I don't see anyway Bryce recovers from this; especially within Carolina.
  8. I think it's pretty clearly this. They (coaching staff and FO) see the veterans on this team. I've supported Bryce and giving him time to grow. But these first two games he has looked worse than Jimmy Clausen ever looked. Cannot even complete bubble screens. Missing throws that HS players make. He has literally 0 confidence in himself. I was at the game Sunday and it felt like 5 yards was too much to ask for our offense. That's unsustainable for another week. I do think Tepper had a say but it was more of a approval of Canales/Morgan's decision.

  10. Anecdotal but two of the best WRs in the league currently. AJ Brown and DK Metcalf. And our HC/OC were DK's position coaches that developed him.
  11. He's a player that needs development on his route running. But he can contribute immediately as well. He is already the best receiver at WR screens, reverse, slant. He is already the best KR. He needs polishing on the rest.
  12. AND Canales/Idzik were the WR coach/passing game coach that developed the raw DK Metcalf.
  13. The WR room is honestly pretty solid and diverse now. You have: 1. quick twitch/route runner (Johnson) 2. security blanket with solid hands (Thelein) 3. big physical playmaker (XL) 4. pure speed in ISM. But his hands and route running sucks.
  14. Maybe. Maybe not. But that shouldn't influence this decision. We have him now though. You guys that dislike Bryce, always criticize his arm strength. In that mindset, he needs a quick separator type and somebody that can take a short pass and turn it into a long TD. Well, now we have both.
  15. Absolutely not true. It was basically a wash. It was 26 points on the chart. That's completely insignificant. I don't love the trade decision but let's not exaggerate to try to prove a point.
  16. But we have one of the top 5 route runners in the league with D. Johnson. It freed this pick to be playmaker type.
  17. Guys. Canales/Morgan/Idzik all have experience and time in Seattle and helped develop DK Metcalf. They were all clearly banging the table for Legette. He has unteachable athletic abilities and a nasty physical attitude on the field. Let's be just a little patient. (Yes, I know, we have sucked for years but this new staff deserves just a tiny bit of time before we shred them).
  18. Corbett was the best player on the OL in 2022 once he came off the PUP list. Injuries hurt him again in 2023. So yea, the injury bug has hurt us but he was (maybe is?) a real good OL. He just cannot be counted on without a solid backup plan
  19. I'm in agreement with you. But I'm not willing to make a decision on Morgan's potential success from that decision. It was a mistake but doesn't mean he cannot be a good GM going forward. He made the best attempt to correct that mistake yesterday. Signing him would've been a worse one.
  20. You are right. They didn't. It was clearly foolish in hindsight. The team thought they were in a better position long term than they were.
  21. Person said it in the Athletic. Only Samir wanted to trade for the picks. But like I said, the circumstances at the time were very different.
  22. I do think Morgan wanted to keep Burns at the time. Person reported that. But it was vastly different circumstances; we were still holding on to hope that we were a good team and didn't need a complete tear down.
